Having lived in both Mumbai and Thane, I'd say Thane gives you way more value for money than Mumbai, more space, and the advantages of gated community living. The older Mumbai suburbs of Bandra, Khar, and Santa Cruz are now as expensive if not more expensive than some areas in South Mumbai and far beyond the reach of most. Redeveloped plots in these areas are going at Rs. 1 lakh per square foot in places like Pali HIll.

The tenant's overall thought process seems good, in moving from Mumbai to Thane. Rustomjee complex is just way too crowded, almost like a vertical slum & matchbox like apartments

Thane is better for youngster who have energy to commute little far or can drive up to the market for groceries....But mumbai is good for old parents who go down with few walks below the apartment for grocery shopping.
I kind of think sometimes that in childhood, the people who we thought speak english, drive cars must be very rich. And here, when we grow up, we see that these people are living in rented apartments. Means no offence to anyone but like after all the studies and hardwork and getting a good job, people still are just able to survive, live on rent, and not have many luxuries. And still having bad roads, live near sewage lines, means what kind of cities are we developing. In these areas having crores of flats, can't we even expect good roads, good greenery, ample space. Even after doing so much hardwork, the end result doesn't seems good. I think living in villages or small towns are much better than living in Mumbai. What kind of world have we made this... whats going to happen for future generations. Looks like just being able to rent a home in Mumbai will be a luxury for many future generations. Buying homes will only be reserved for billionaires.
100% ....living in small city/town is much much better than living inmetro cities. Now a days all facilities we get in big cities ar more or less available in small towns.
Quality of life is debatable in Indian cities but what about jobs? Do villages or small towns have white collar jobs? So it's natural for people to move to cities (especially the white collar ones)
We watch your vlog from Canada. I hope to invest in mumbai or Kochi for a nice penthouse. One thing I love about your show is you are so upfront about the blemishes- the mosquito the nallah the filth and the terrible potholes and roads. Thank you.
There are good restaurants and shopping places in Hiranandani Estate Thane. There is facility of AC buses which connect you with Mumbai if you choose not to drive.
No major difference I feel in mumbai and thane, it's all about habbits, he left Mumbai went to thane, thane is in on the outskirts so the rents are less, once wfh is over he will miss Mumbai again
In my self stay in Thane, only advantage is cost, if you are willing to travel. Maybe metro 🚇 can make life better but as of now it's a hassle. Broken roads, traffic, density all no different from Mumbai
Not a real picture. Navi mumbai is better than thane. Thane does have good restaurants. This episode felt like a promotion of rustomjee more than a tenants analysis.
Proximity and Infra makes Thane much more lucrative with the connectivity from Office areas. Also dont agreed to the point made in video that of restaurants and fine dine are missing in Thane. Bad research on the tenant/ producer of the video
I think before judging a place we must look beyond stereotypes. Things have changed a lot over the years. There are bright and not so bright areas both in Mumbai and Thane. Gone are the days when Mumbai was the only happening place
Thane has a buzzing area also, "Panch Pakhadi" it's in main city. Although there're not many new construction over there but it's developing or rather I'd call it redeveloping. The infrastructure here is very good if you compare it with any of other City areas. The rent for 2 BHK would start above 45k and for 3 BHK 55k ~ 60k.
MMRDA , BMC and state govt has to build roads, metro and other infrastructure in the east of Mumbai and make land parcels available. Only way Mumbai can develop is on the east side.
The pram is parked near the playing area. God knows what germs and dirt the wheels attracted from your excursions. And it is in the child's reach in his playing area. Why don't Indians think about cleanliness hazards.

After watching all Mumbai episodes, I feel like Bangalore is heaven 🙂. You can get 3 BHK apartment for Thane price in decent locations in Bangalore.
Mumbai has limited land, while Bangalore can extend to any direction, hence cheaper.
