Hi Kayleigh. Nicely explained thank you. I've used the original Slip for as long as I can remember for silvers (which is a long while) - always reliable and very good value for money too.
Very helpful 👌. You make sense all the time, just got the presentation x30, wait elastic would I use in the match and crap kits. Probably won't use fi kits at mo as I fish club waters and not commercials I do find that must bloggs as allways about fishing commercials, Mark. Great video and liked the one about your pond 👌
Must say I love the dura slip I love the 13 white and 15 red I've also got some of the 17 for the edge monsters and just loaded my short stops with the 11 to try out.
I just use the orange beads that they come with but use some old hollo elastic to tie to the 5 so it does not fit back through the bead. Something a little thicker
Hello Kayleigh Is it useful to change the rubber bands after each fishing season, yes or no? Do you do it systematically for your kits. Hello from France.
i fish a park lake and i fish 2 mm solid which is rated around 12 i fish for large tench mainly but the big carp show up more and more what would be your advice for a pole set up, i was using a size 12 hook to 6lb and a 8lb main line i get smashed up as the carp go to 22 kilos would 15 dura slip help with say 9lb hook link to a 10lb main line and size ten strong carp hook
Got out on the pole for the first time and since it was a second hand pole came with some elastic and i was bumping roach like crazy. I think I need to get some duraslip number 5 as half the year I will be on the river and lucky to get over a pound fish.
Hi Kayleigh. Thank you so much for your quick reply it is much appreciated. Do you use loop to loop for your hook lengths or line to line knot? Please. I'm going to tension elastic so it will just return as I can always tension it more later if the elastic goes limp. Thanks for your help, it's nice to get a reply. Kind regards Paul.
Hello Kayleigh. A couple of questions I would like to ask you please. I'm going for silver's and have a preston slip number 5 solid elastic through two sections. How do I set a good tension on this please? Someone said pull 12" out and cut off and that should retracted. Also, hook link maximum breaking strain for this elastic? Someone said, number 5. Plus two gives you 0.07mm max. E.g number 8 would be plus 2 makes 0.10mm max. Am I right in thinking you want the hook link to break when the elastic starts to bottom out to stop the elastic breaking. So your hook link should protect your elastic? Kind regards Paul.
Yes just pull a bit out and cut section off just do it but at a time so you don’t set it too tight, it just wants to go back softly into topkit. Or if you have a winder bung just put a couple more winds on it to make it tighter. For a 5 I generally go up to 0.8/0.10 depending on what I am fishing for. Never had the elastic snap if it bottoms out as long as it’s not worn or damaged, hooklength should always go first so you can replace it quickly in the bank
You're right it is a minefield! It doesn't help when different manufacturers have different sizes from each other. One might be a 12 but the next company might class that as a 14. Just have one universal sizing, pleeeease. And the mixed sizing like 10/12. Is it an 11 then? Utter madness Also, you look warmer in the video! Was worried they would find you in a block of ice on the bank one day
There is no uniformity with tackle manufactures. Each graded elastic differ greatly from each producer. I would stick to what you are happy with and don't get taken in by top anglers and what they prefer. No dis-respect meant here as I think your an awesome fishing lass.
She's really a good angler she knows what she is talking about keep up the good fishing you're a inspiration to us anglers
Really good video I use the 9&13 they are brilliant Kayleigh. Lovely pond behind you awesome koi.
Nice pond you done a excellent job

Thanks Kayleigh. I can help my son with his choices now.
Another top video kayleigh, just a quickie what connectors and size of beads do you use for a original no 5s elastic through a puller kit?TIA.
I just use the orange beads that they come with but use some old hollo elastic to tie to the 5 so it does not fit back through the bead. Something a little thicker
very informative , thank you👍

Hello from France.
Hi no normally the elastic last months I only change it when it shows signs of it wearing down 🙂
Thank's Kayleigh !!
Great video as always keep up the good work
Hi Kayleigh. Is dura slip elastic ok to use on the old fashioned bung and connector. Or is it for side puller dacron connector only.?
Yes it is fine to use with a bung and connector 👍
@@KayleighDowdFishing thanks hun. Have a nice Christmas. X
Well done another good video, stay safe and well.
a tip : you can watch movies on Flixzone. Been using them for watching lots of of movies lately.

Carp to 22kg 🥴 you will struggle on any pole gear! You will be best to fish on the rod with strong line 👍
@@KayleighDowdFishing yes I put the method rod out to my left generally while fishing directly a head on the pole
@@KayleighDowdFishing i went with a 4mm as my poles rated to that and had them to 14lb so far hoping to get a 20
Great detail of use, thank you, nice Pond
