I think spicer is a manufacturer just like Eaton that makes transmission for heavy trucks, they make auxiliary transmissions or more commonly known as splitters. What they do is basically splits the gears in the main transmission, you may need this when you are hauling really heavy loads and just the gears in your main transmission won't be enough. That is, if you were to shift only using the main transmission then your revs might fall more rapidly and hence you may not be able to tow that heavy load so what these auxiliary transmissions does is give you more gear ratios to shift in-between the gears in your main transmission, hence maintaining good torque delivery which makes it possible to pull heavy loads... I don't think so, trucks use mostly manual trans, newer trucks use either automatic or amt. In sequential transmission you cannot skip gear while going up or down, you can only shift in order, many think semi trucks have sequential transmission because these trucks tend to have 12 or even 18 gears but it is just a manual transmission with range or splitter or range-splitter option...

HELP!
