Being a drummer, this reinforces something a lot of us forget.
You don't need to bash your kit to get volume or power from it.
Look at how casually he strokes his way through the entire piece.
And he makes it all look so smooth and easy!
I wish I were this finessed.
But maybe I want to see a power and aggressiveness through it, bashing the cymbals
There's something for everyone. That being said, in a playthrough setting there is usually more of a focus on the parts than showmanship.

The sickest wrists in prog-metal drumming. Stef is the real deal. A fully-realized musician. His play-throughs are immensely satisfying to watch. Textures, as a band, is also levels above the rest. Deep compositional sense, not just a group of show-offs. Miss the band immensely, but their incredible output will have to suffice, for now......
In my opinion,Steff will always be one of the best drummers in the world.. I've been following him for many years now and he is well oil machine,who plays with such perfection and passion !! He definitely plays the right way!!

I just found a new cool band to listen to. I love this stuff. This song, New Horizons and Shaping a Single Grain of Sand are all masterpieces.

-I'm a fan of both Textures and Stef, but this video needs to be taken down and the A/V sync needs to be fixed. Whoever produced this video did a piss-poor job on quality control.-
EDIT: I apologize to Textures, Nuclear Blast, and whomever made this video. My phone needed to be rebooted. I mistakenly used other videos as proof my phone wasn't misbehaving, which it showed with correct A/V sync. Put your pitchforks away people, I like the video!

+Unearthlywhales I'm going to assume you must have some reading deficiency. I said the audio/video was not synced up on my phone. Rebooting my phone fixed it. I assumed it was the video because other videos I loaded didn't suffer the desync this one did.
