Good to see another sci-fi book channel on RUclips. It's always happy finding others who enjoy the same genre. I hope I stumble on some good reads here, or some I've read you like.
I have a collection of Roger Zelazney stories and in the intro to one that is about a Utopia he talks about how hard it is to write about a society where everything is going along fine because stories need conflict. I think when you look into it it shows why the ideas behind Star Trek is so clever. Generally the Federation has solved the major issues (N.B.Discovery threw a lot of this out though) therefore all the issues and problems are from things that are external to the Federation. When looking for books for this video it was a struggle at points, most of the obvious ones I picked for my previous video. I'm now going to keep a list when I come across positive stories in case I want to do a third video at any point.
I watched and never heard of those, except that Red Shirts book by John Scalzi. Yeah, I was reading OLD MAN'S WAR, and I did enjoy it. Got distracted by life, half-way, but it's great book.
Very timely! Thanks.

Thankyou, I'm always interested in others recomendations.
Interesting topic. It never occurred to me how much sci-fi is dark and bleak until watching this.

@@backawayfromthedonkeyit’s definitely an idea with legs and I’ve not seen anyone else tackling it 👍
