Jake is in a class all by himself. I read one time Guitar World asked him why he didn't use a "whammy" bar (all the rage during the glam metal era)...he said (something to the effect of) "I don't want it to be a gimmick in my playing". Always respected him for that. He used his talent and not a crutch. His playing has always been pure and real.
Miss this type of music. Hard to find a band that plays or sings with that type of heart and soul anymore. Very underrated band even back in the day and I could never understand why. This is one album (yeah I said album) I played over and over again..never getting tired of it. RIP Ray...you are missed and your passing was a great loss in the music industry.
I still listen to this monthly. It's a great workout album. There was not much that came out of the 80s that did it for me but this killed. I remember hearing about it 6 months before release and how much their new singer kicked ass. Bought it on cassette twice lol because my car ate the first one. It has held up very well

Badlands is kick-ass to the bone, but Paleese never diss Randy mr. aaaarrrrgggghh, just appreciate the musix for what it is....Jake and Randy both are ones to be reckoned with.

Too bad the press lumped this band in with the Poisons of the world. They should gone to the top with G&R. Astounding stuff..
