@@imariapassao he doesnt just sound like a gospel singer. He sounds like if a gospel singer had the best control youve ever heard. I have never heard better control from anyone before, his agility is way better than average, his range, his confidence, and his insanely soothing tone. Put all of that together and he really is one of the best of all time.

I wish y’all would skip us on the “he’s not doing too much” comments and just appreciate the performance. He’s growing in his gift just like anyone else and that journey is largely experimental - getting to know your voice more, finding what works and what doesn’t, etc. It’ll always be subjective to the listeners. Oan, that 2:18-2:37 mark had a little extra on it. It was captivating. I watched Shoshana get lost in it lol

Yes. Avery is learning to harness his vocals.......not doing too much. They compliment one another in a beautiful way.

@@CelestialGatez Tbh the critique "too much" is just always a matter of taste. However, it holds weight with respect to audience and genre. Avery has superb control and has had great control for a long time now. It's not just the control, but his musicality is top-shelf. Sometimes, within traditional, conventional and layman audiences the agility and decorative techniques he uses aren't seen as pleasurable to such ears. I'm always for it, but I understand those who aren't.

@@budomushin that's true. Avery's runs can make listeners insecure because they can't do that kind of riffs and runs. Thats why i admire him. He is just showing what he can do. They don't really know why rnb sing in that way.. We are just expressing what we can do in different kind of song
This is such a beautiful song lyrically and melodically. Both great voices! Avery is hands down my favorite male singer of this generation. His voice and tone is like velvet. Reminds me of Donny Hathaway. Shoshana has a beautiful and powerful voice as well. First time hearing her. 😀 Such a great duet!
