The worms before a boarding strat is something I can't believe I haven't heard of before, especially considering how long they've been in the game. You, sir are amazing!
One thing to add: when you’re boarding, if an enemy player waits to fire until you’re locked in the animation of climbing off the ladder onto the deck itself, there’s nothing you can do about it. The animation only lasts just under a second or so, but once you’re locked into it you can’t ladder drop anymore and very good players will wait for this moment to actually attack you.
I think you should include something about blunderbombs, regardless of your justification for not doing so. Sure during a stealth board they’re usually a bad idea, but during a hot board when they all know you’re on, the sheer shock, confusion, and ability to damage multiple people at once they bring is priceless. Especially after you drop their anchor, they’re an amazing tool to both damage anyone after you and interrupt anyone who either caught the anchor before it fell or is trying to get it up. I’m losing count of how many boards I’ve won against 3-4 players because of blunderbombs, they’re an amazing equalizer. Sword/gun simply can’t kill crews as fast as they can. On a related note, a tactical firebomb or two is a good tool to throw down on a chokepoint on an enemy ship, such as on the stairs up to the wheel, or on the stairs down to a lower deck.
Good tips, but blunderbombs are just too good! Many times enemy crew will just run behind you like lambs so you can gather them in one place and spam them all down with the bombs.
Got into Sea of Thieves recently, and found myself getting slaughtered by people in the open seas. Learning a lot, watching all of your videos and looking forward to using this experience whenever I sail again.
Nice to see new sailors on the horizon. Just know that there is a very high skill ceiling in this game and it might take you a very long time to be able to confidently take on other crews.
@@koetsier6611 There really isnt a high skill ceiling. There isnt a reward for competitivty because of hitreg, so actually being good matters very little. Plus, sword doesnt take much skill, and basically can give anyone free kills, with its range and 360 degree coverage.

One thing i'd like to add is when you're boarding an enemy ship and they're protecting the ladders, what you can do is wait till you're about 4 steps away from the top, drop from the ladder and shoot your gun at them, then catch the ladder again. This will surprise them and give you enough time to climb up while they heal. Make sure to have you gun out for this to work.
*also note that this is more difficult on controller, and _I don't think_ it works on sloops and possible brigs? That could be wrong,I haven't tested, but I've heard it a lot.
@@chorusofoddities Works on any ladder in the game! Try it out, it's pretty easy. Grab onto the ladder, let go and m1 with a gun, while spamming F to grab back onto the ladder.

For Xbox I personally run cutlass and blunderbuss with firebombs when boarding Another tip I suggest is that you shortcut throwables to dpad left so you can quickly grab them and cause chaos on a ship
I once had a brig trying to follow me discreetly from like an island away. I'd stop and park my boat with the anchor up, check his location, and quickly go and get the treasure chest for gold hoarder quests. Then check again and sweep the island for more treasure. He never moved until I did. After a few times of this happening, I was like "fuck it" and went straight towards him. He immediately started to run away 😂. I was solo slooping. I eventually gave up the chase and went to an outpost to sell. I guess they had someone that swam over because by the end of my selling ventures they tried to burn down my ship with a banana.

Somebody used the block tactic against me as a solo slooper that wasn't fun. They tuckered on a island i was sailing past cuz their brig was chasing me. I got so mad cuz i was out playing the entire time. Almost sank them too.
Still don’t understand how people are swimming faster than the ship to catch up with it. Because I can’t do that. Also, kind of a lame way to play. I want to fight from ship to ship, not exploit the games weakness

I dunno, maybe i shouldnt post this here...as it is def a glitch...but, oh well since you are showcasing the "block while climbing a ladder" sound glitch, i guess it doesnt matter.. It is possible, all be it very difficult, to board a ship and appear inside the bottom floor of the ship. I did it once by accident, i fired myself in front of the enemy ship, and lined up perfectly. Due to the rough waves, the ship came crashing down on my head, as i was swimming up holding spacebar. I then glitched through the front nose of the ship and was inside the belly. It confused me and the enemy team very much.
Is there a guide to keep players off your ship has a solo player I had someone just roll up on me one hit me with a ship gun saw I had no loot on my ship and leave
Another on is some time I run out of food but I have raw meat if meat is uncooked it will give slight heath and you vomit but it does take food inventory so it is only good if you have no food or want to vomit and have no worms

Do you have a tip for eat worms the most efficient way? I tried to figure a key bind for it but I can't. And to take it out I need to take out the fishing stick, look for worm and get the worm. It's very annoying to do in a middle of combat
