Thank you for the brilliant video. I have just purchased this machine as a hobby for myself and my 12yo daughter to learn together, and this video is perfect to start us off.
Now that I have seen your video realized that I have been using the sewing machine so wrong , had no idea that he thread the needle, thank you so much ! Have the machine for a few years and still standing 😊, but never read the book a now that o want to trade it I don’t find it !
I bought this machine last Christmas and took it out of the box recently to kick start myself into learning to use the machine but I would find it more invaluable if you tried again to show how to thread it up and set it up as I think once we get it going we'll be fine - maybe write it down first in a dialogue of how you set it up and then maybe show that dialogue on the screen ? Also could you slow it down (not the video speed!) a bit as well, just find you go a little bit fast for me in this tutorial! Thank you!
Thanks a tonne for this video. Can you make a tutorial on using a darning foot plate and also which one would be compatible with this model of Singer.I have never tried the needle threader but now I am going to try it definitely thanks to you.
Thanks you so much 😊 Your video really helped 👍🏻 I bought this machine 2017 from lidl since 2017 this machine broke 50-60 needless 😖 Even I can’t stitch even single shirt😬 Every time same problem needle broke and millions of times 🧵 thread broke 😂
Thank you so much for this video, recently purchased this to try learn something new in quarantine 😌 really struggles to learn how to thread it on my own
David McBeardface hi David. I’d stick with a vintage machine. This machine will struggle. But if it doesn’t, the wax will definitely damage the machine. You can pick up old machines for very little
I have looked in the manual and online and I can't find what bobbin size I need.please help. I think it's 15k also which is better metal or plastic? Thanks
I got one of these last year...I found with my tention that I have to have it very high at about 6-8 can you let me know how you get on with yours...cos I cant work out if its faulty or not as it stitches ok
Busy Bee it’ll be a build up of fluff so your tension discs will need a clean. I’m not sure whether to demonstrate that on this machine. I’ve only just picked it up. Maybe if I get an older model in.
@@AbisDen Its been right from when I got the machine but I am interested in your cleaning the tension discs ...I will have a go to see if makes a diff. thank you for getting back to me.
Any size, but consider the fabric. The 20** numbers are made by singer, but I use the schmetz needles. They’re much better quality and give a nicer result in my fabric. I mostly use a size 80 universal needle in my classes.
My upper thread was breaking, but after a quick cup of tea I found that my upper thread was pulled away under the foot with the lower thread instead of over the foot direct from the eye of the needle, the teeth from the food plate were chewing the thread, thanks for an excellent video, it made me understand the instructions that came with my singer tradition 2282 :-)
Thank you so much for your video! Very easy to follow. I’m new to sewing and excited to make things. Last time I sewed was 10 years ago in high school hahah. When you inserted the prewound bobbin does the machine automatically catch the thread for when you’re ready to sew? Or do you have to thread it? Thanks again!
best video in history! you have no idea I was so lost when reading the manual, new to sewing really needed that visual. Thank you!

I really hope Lidl hasn't sold out in the morning. Thanks again Abi, good to see your videos.
You should be okay. It’s a nicer version than the last one I bought
@@AbisDen Hope so, I'll keep you posted. I didn't win an auction today for an Elna, this is a great 2nd prize!
Check you spam folder Abi, for emails! 😊
Great video. I am going to try the needle threader again on mine.
On my machine there is no hook needle for the auto threader that goes through the main needle. Am I missing something or did it come broken?
Thanks for sharing this was helpful
Thank you so much mum.
Excellent video, Thank You.
You are welcome! and Thank you for commenting x
Thank you very much, you helped a lot with this video!
Are youo sure the bobbin goes in clockwise? Most front loaders go anticlockwise.
Thank you very much for your helpful videos :)
it is amazing i will learn thank you

In the booklet which came with the machine the bobbin thread comes from on top whereas you say it should come from underneath? ?
I never knew my machine had a needle threader! The amount of time and swearing I could have saved! 😩
Haha! But now it’s been discovered; everyone within earshot has been saved!! 💪🏽🥳
Hi, thanks for up loading this video. Can I ask do you know if this machine can sew canvas fabric with a strong waxed thread?
David McBeardface hi David. I’d stick with a vintage machine. This machine will struggle. But if it doesn’t, the wax will definitely damage the machine. You can pick up old machines for very little
@@AbisDen Thanks for the quick reply. I'll stick to standard sewing for the machine and switch to hand for leather and other tougher materials

Thanks alot .
I need more vedios.
Do you know how we can sew with a twin needle, please?
I'm having trouble catching my bottom thread like you did at 8:21. Do you have any advice that can help me?

I just bought one, this is useful for my information.thsnks for sharing, from lidl too.
Hi,which number needles shall we use for this machine model ?

My light will be on when I switch the machine on.Please how can I switch the light off?
This machine does not have a separate switch for the light.
Ok thank you
