❤😊 TWO GOOD IH TRACTORS AND 2 GOOD IH PLOWS ❤😊
I’m a minimum till farmer. I hate no till philosophy because we recognise risks of tillage but we compare them to benefits then decide which way we go. That’s every day decision making as a farmer - decide what works for you!
Keep up the videos - top job 👌👍
I love how everyone having never stepped foot on your farm has an opinion on how you farm or how you should farm. Keyboard farmers!
It is your farm. Don't worry what others say. Do it your way.
❤LOVED❤EVERY❤MINUTE❤OF❤EVERY❤ PLOWIN❤ VIDEO❤ !!!
Great video older red iron working like it did 50 years ago
No Till Mafia 😂🤣😅
Do what works for you!!!
Nice show. Keep it up!!!
Nice job plowing, always one of my favorite things to do. Liked the comment about being satisfying to go out and plow, yes fun when things go the right way and not fun at all when it doesn't go well!
The best farming videos on RUclips
I kinda choked up a little watching the 2 tractors plowing one behind the other, Grandpa was usually in front and I plowed behind him. Good memories. 😢
Yeah, I remember following him in the 830,with that 4 bottom plow, and both feet on one brake, trying to keep it in the furrow.
😊 those were good memories!
Yep the days we used to plow with a 4040 no cab and a 4240 with cab and 5-16" on both, Dad in the lead with the cab 🙂 Great memories
I guess yee guys are brothers? Or first cousins.
Brothers
LOL Those old tractors work best wide open heavy load. My Grandfather had them on his farm. They are basing there concern of ruining the tractor on the fact the new auto hydraulic ones would overheat and literally melt beneath you. LOL
Only folks giving comments on a 10 pulling 6 are the guys that drive or pull their green tractors!😁 They are just jealous!! Keep on keeping on bud!!! Got 3 older Ih tractors here, wouldn't trade up for nothing!!!! My "BABY " Is my 1586, love that ole girl! Be safe my friend!
We pulled a 6 bottom for years with a 1066. About 130 hp. We pulled a 5 bottom with a turbo jd 4020. Now we pull a 6 with a 4455 when we need to mold board. But we mostly chisel and no till. Youre old school and its cool. Keep it up.
From old white haired farmer someone always knows your land and telling you how to farm it. Each farmer knows thier land and soil type what works best really like smile on your face while talking about it keep up the good work.
❤😊IS THE OTHER 770 PLOW OPERATIONAL ???????? ❤😊
👀🙄🐾👍Great video Alan and Jennifer and the boys neither tractor seemed to be working that hard drive
Alan, I have learned then if you get it plowed in the crops grow and you like the looks of it that's all that matters
My dad did it 1066 and a 6 bottom plow for many years
I personally enjoy all your videos. We have Karen's and Darrens even in the farming communities, you keep doing what you do because I have 3 meals a day with a glass of milk and thank a farmer. God bless and be safe
Don't worry about it, you cant kill those tractors.
A real nice video!
I promise you, your kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will watch this video decades from now. I feel fortunate. There are a few clips on 8 mm of Dad chopping corn and filling silos back on a farmall H was the big horse. probably 30 seconds total. That 8 mm film and processing was darn expensive back in the day :-) even though they’re short I enjoy watching them. Yours will be a treasure.
Thanks for sharing it with us!
I'm glad you can laugh at these couch farmer want a be
The Montana visit again. That's a nice gig he has.
He's ready to move out there.
Brother Pete moved to Great Falls around 1983. Hasn't looked back.
Yes, there is something therapeutic about plowing. We did many years of plowing with a JD 630 and a three-bottom plow. Turn on the lights and hear that 630 work into the dark hours. Those 1256 and 1066's were/are very good tractors.
One thing I have learned in my 70ish years of living is that you will never satisfy or please everyone, so don't even try, it is an exercise in futility. Do what works for you and leave it at that.
Tractors sounding pretty good, looks like they handle those plows plenty good. Y'all have a good day now.
We’ve pulled a 5x16 with an 886 turned up to about 100hp for the whole life of the tractor and the plow as they were bought brand new together back in 1977. Hay ground about 5.5 miles and hr, corn ground about 6.5 mph. I couldn’t care less what others say, it’s been doing it for 47 years and we’re in the middle of plowing this year just like always.
I try to plow at least 40 acres every year and it always has the best weed control
In the early 70’s I worked for an IH dealer and I hauled new 66 series tractors out of the Rock Island Illinois Farmall factory. Great memories and it is good to see them still working👍 thanks for sharing!
I have to agree with you 100% on the relaxation of Plowing Fields. It had to be my favorite job on the farm, I would start Plowing after evening milking and go till 2 or 3 in the morning. I kinda got Chewed on for plowing so late, But it was mt Therapy. I really love turning over new ground or old hay feilds, Had to be the best. Thanks for sharing this video, Has brought back many great memories.
The two most satisfying parts of grain farming are the smell of fresh worked soil and bringing in the harvest. Love your videos.
Beautiful soil, like your pvc, GPS. Thanks for sharing, always enjoy your videos.
Keep those tractors rolling!! Farm the way that works best for you and your operation. Take care...
love it
Enjoyed your video. Yes I enjoy plowing is one of my favorite things. Open station love the smell. Your ground looks very good awesome. Nice work have a great day .
Just mount a camera on the tractor and record the whole day!! It’s your land, your equipment. You know it better than anyone. That plow is what your 1066 is designed to do.
You do you Alan, we were a small farm in our area and we always had someone telling us we were doing something wrong, but it worked for us! we must have done something right because we were around way after all the others gave up. You are doing an awesome job and your family is great!
No till Mafia, I like that. Keep plowing, it's your farm. Number of bottoms, depends on the soil type, if it works for you, go for it.
Awesome video! Do what ever is best for your family! I hope you and your family have a great time together! I live in NC and farmers here still turn over their soil. My parents planted several acres of land in a large garden and several acres of sweet corn. We sold fresh produce to neighbors and a several flea markets. We always had the land turned over in the fall after having manure spread over the land.
Thanks for sharing your farm and your family with us! ❤
Take care…❤❤❤❤❤
Great video Al and Paul, looks like it's doing a fantastic job. Love to watch those big reds at work!
Paul is a good one always seems like he is always there to help you out
Plow on my friend. Plow on. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video, Brother! Love watching those two old binders running up against the governor and putting in the work. Obviously, they can handle despite the naysayers. Very much enjoyed your comments on some of the other comments you receive. I was cracking up listening to that. Prayers for you and your family and the farm. Looking forward to a good planting and bountiful harvest. God Bless!
‘No till mafia’ 😅. That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that. I get lots of free advice on my channel too. Seems like plowing gets lots of comments for us too. Rock picking gets attention too. I enjoy your creativity in solving farm problems.
Thanks for your opening remarks. Loved seeing your son with the grease gun. Nice plowing video. Love your family.
hi from france very beautiful video thank you
I love seeing the experts come out. Every one of them is a super farmer and nothing you do is right. I just shake my head and laugh
Both tractors and both sets of plows did a beautiful job of turning the corn stalks and grass under
I always enjoy your videos alan. You know what it takes for your land to produce and you do great. Big red looked mighty fine out there as well. We always mold board plowed and it worked just fine.
❤😊 would❤ to be there❤TOO❤😊
We pulled a six bottom plow with a case 1070 & a five bottom with a ford 7710. Almost cause wrecks on the road from farmers rubbernecking to watch that 7710 cruise thru. Your land, your iron - u know what you’ve got. 👍
You won’t pull that 5 bottom with that light weight 7710 in hard sod ground.
@@cyholt6374yeah you can actually no problem at all. I don't know why everybody thinks you need a huge tractor on a plow. I plowed with a 5 bottom ( 20 inch bottoms) with a 4040 Deere 2wd onland hitch. Sod or stubble didn't matter. My neighbors had a 7 bottom they pulled with a 2-135 White.
Just stating true facts….
@@ronniewayne5748 not saying ford tractors are junk.. but when it come to hard and heavy pulling. 6 cyl deere and IH tractor are the way to go.. just proven facts.. can’t help y’all are dumb
Plowing makes a good operator for all other dirt turning tools.!
You sir are definitely not hurting either one of those tractors anyone that knows anything can tell those engines are running so free in this video good job
Well from what little I know about plowing I'd say your doing good looks like it's breaking up good I'm in north west pa and most ground you see plowed here is more like clay and lakes in long strips behind plow don't break up so good God bless your stops for a good harvest
Soil temp for corn is definitely an issue this far north. I loved your commentary about the comments. I was looking forward to reading the comments on this one. 😁
Looks like 1066 walking along and doing a great job 😊
No idea why anybody thinks that's six bottom would be overloading on a 1066. It would barely know it's back there. My brother in law pulled a 5 bottom ( 20 inch bottoms ) so be pretty much identical to his 6 bottom 16 inch ( the 5 bottom would be 4 inches wider actually) he pulled that with a 986 or his 4240 Deere on hills and did it for years lol thenwe
Always used the new Holland 841 round baler right from early 1980’s, For contract baling mainly straw hay and silage never ever had any problems probably because it was brand new🇬🇧🇮🇪.
Plowing looked great to me. I noticed that the corn stubble was really high--I know you have rocks in some of your fields, but in some places the cutter head on your chopper could be a little lower (2 to 3 inches). No big deal and I sure you know best. Keep up the good work--you have a great family.
I enjoy your videos so much and appreciate that you all take the time to make them. Thank you! Plus, had to laugh at the "no till mafia" 😂
Git R Done!!!!!!!!👍👍👍
Tell ‘em it’s not how ‘how to’ video it’s a ‘We do’ video! 👍
I can smell the dirt coming out of my IPad 😂. Love you all ❤
I too love to watch your plowing videos. I started plowing at the age of 10 on dad's WD Allis pulling a John Deere trip plow, 2-14s. It was an adventure plus a learning experience. He struck all the lands and finished the dead furrows. Fall plowing worked up so well in Spring; almost like our garden. Go for it, Alan!
Good to hear your thoughts at the beginning of the video about the comments and the way you take care of your farm. You gotta do what works for you.
Many many years ago when I was a teenager the one dairy farm I worked on had a 1066 Turbo and it pulled a 6 bottom plow with no problem! I agree with you I just loved moldboard plowing back in the day! Great video! 👍😎
People should adjust their no till argument when it's on a dairy farm that has a lot of muck to spread back into the field.
Very nice job and God bless y'all with all of your farm 🙏
I personally love the way you take care of your farm! 👍👏🐄
I enjoy watching videos that are using "old school" equipment. Brings back lots of memories. Keep on doing what you're doing.
Real nice video of 2 super cool tractors, well done (some guys just give a view of muffler and hood)or some put in cheezy music, machines are both running great and not turning plowing into a race as some rough necks do,anyway cheers.
Great video, Alen! You'll always have naysayers even when the proof is right in front of them. Even in my business and videos.
TD,
Well said. I have many hours plowing and I get the therapeutic aspect. Nice to see your boys working and learning. One of the best things my father thought me how to work and maintain equipment. Thanks, Boe
Love the vids. Just keep doing what you know. Your a good farmer. And a good dairy man.
Do your own thing glad you shared bless you
Yes certainly the old 1066 looks a lot better with that breather cut down ❤
Always love the small of the soil after it's plowed also like the looks of a good plowed field!👍
I love your comments about the comments. Thanks for all you do.
Now this Big Red, double team plowing is really cool; sights and sounds!
Two plowing tractors on one field 👍 the best vid every. When I was a kod I was plowing with my Dad: I - Ursus C-330 with 2 bottoms plow, and my Dad: Ursus C-360 3p with 3 bottom plow. Check IT out😉👍
ploughing looks great you could almost plant right into it. farm I grew up on is real heavy clay, if you don't plow it, you grow next to nothing. a few guys tried no till and went back to tillage after a few years.
I enjoy plowing videos where I can hear the diesel engines running. It’s relaxing and usually puts me to sleep.
2:32............I am one who loves watching videos of moldboard plowing.
Plowing and corn picking videos are my favorite videos on the internet.
I’d watch Alan whittle a stick and enjoy it. We love your videos. We really appreciate y’all.
Very cool. Thank you for sharing your days on the farm. I love it. Stay safe, and God bless.
Great job and yes I’m one those guys that will watch an entire 2 hrs of plowing, one of my favourite things to do each year
What an absolutely beautiful picture of the two tractors plowing as the sun was setting, highlighting the tree tops in the distance and the clouds in the sky. What a gorgeous framed picture that would have made. We are but stewards of the land. Just keep farming the way you were taught - O.J.T.
Hey Al and Family .the Videos always nice to see .where a Family do with "love" her daily work !! It is impressive !
Nice to see the older strong Red tractors do the plough work .
We have a John Deere 920 too ,which we only use to control daily our pastures from the cows an young cattle .and control the fence and cleaning the barn courtyard space .
Best greetings from East Frisia in North West Germany from Bert !
Hey Allen. Some seriously nice filming of the 2 red Power tractors doing what they do best. Nicely done.
I always loved plowing. It’s relaxing. And I always tried to get the furrow as straight as possible.
You are doing a great job, just do it how you think it needs, it's your farm. I enjoy watching you all. Thanks for sharing
It makes sense to plow rocky ground from this perspective...the rocks go through freeze/thaw cycles and move up with time but when they reach the surface they just concentrate there. Plowing brings less concentrated rock/soil to the surface and buries the concentrated rock layer below root (and planter, harvester) depth. Maybe that's how it works anyway.
Great video as always.
It's very nice job, looks flat, i like plowing good to get rid of weeds
Yes, I would love a two-hour video of moldboard plowing. No till fields usually look horrible, but I respect those who farm that way. RED POWER!! 1066s are The Kings. Everyone I have ever met would take them over the 14s and 15s. Thanks, Alan. You made my morning.
I have lived by this quote "HATER ARE MOTAVERATES" Love videos my dad farmed with a 1256
Beautiful soil
Love the trees, grass and ploughing. Beautiful farm!
Plowing nice. Love the videos.
We had a guy by us start out farming with a 806 brand new in the custom business turbocharger and propane pulling a plow like yours and fill many silos and if there were a tractor pull unhook and pull 1st place he was still running it at 12000 hrs now he is at 6000 acres of corn and beans 78yrs old and just bought another 80acres
Hi Alan great video you do not need expensive shiny machinery full of unreliable Hi Tec gizmos you do a great with what you have .
I farmed for over60 years till i retired 6 year ago on some of the heaviest wettest clay soils you could find here in England which was all drained and needed subsoiling most years weather permitting .
I used both plough and min till and they both worked well no 2 years are alike and used mostly second hand tractors and machinery which i used to adapt to do a better job .
I think there are 3 key things in farming know your land no 1. maintenance no2 . and get stuck in when the weather is right'
We have had one of the wettest 12 months in living memory in England and the one thing i have noticed where crops have been put in with the plough and early they have faired a lot better than the fancy No Till Drilled fields there is need for all
methods not just one .Keep doing what you know best .
Farm the way you want to farm man everybody else can go pound sand
Looks good . I rather watch old Iorn then the new stuff that is why I like your Channel.
Love the equipment. Seriously.
First I Really Like Your Dairy Set Up.If It's Working For You Then That's Wonderful I'm 63 Years Old And Live In Pennsylvania Northeast Pa. I Worked On Dairy Farms In My Younger Days My Mother Used To Take Me To Work I Started At 12 yrs and Learned Each Farmer Has His Way Of Doing Things If It's Not Broken Don't Fix It Everyone Has Their Own Way of Doing it.I Really Enjoy Your Family And Farm Thanks For The Videos Blessings And Please Be Safe ✌️
Plow On! Love to watch you work.
