Great work!! I became interested in Ottoman Empire history after watching the drama magnificent century.
Please do read credible historical sources. Turkey is not big on movies/series and outside sources depict a very very weak ottoman empire. Watching this series u would think christians themselves almost happily turned in their thousand year-old capital. One particular example is that some venetian traders make mehmed uneasy about their discretion of the ships moving through land. Which is cracking my balls to this day. Ottomans would have crushed anything on their path at the time. But mehmed was wise to make a deal (not that he ever needed to) so that they would be trading in ottoman rule and help flourish the economy.

Congratulations for the production of this series,! Though it was Turkish it showed a great respect of the Byzantine Empire and the Greek History. Especially the last part with the Last Emperor just vanishes in the Battle is one of greatest myths in the Greek History that one day the Emperor will arise again and shows the good will of the production to show all aspects of history. All they know is he died but no one knows what happened. Weird? Interestingly according to the tale emperor took off his armor, regalia, etc. with insignias and somehow people convinced that ruler didn't do that to escape secretly but to fight to the death. The same ruler escaped before with his brother from his despotate in Morea. Constantine XI's friend and attendant Sphrantzes (and other his contemporaries) wrote in his Chronicon that he didn't know what happened to him. But pseudo-Sphrantzes Makarios Melissenos who was an infamous forger (and his family members too) who wrote an "expanded" version of Sphrantzes Chronicon by adding tall tales about his family members. You believe in forgers and liars. Not a single contemporary source claimed that emperor fought to the death.
You believe in tall-tales of people who created the tale that Constantine XI. did not die but converted into marble by an angel, hence "Marble Emperor", and will come to save the city.

A leader who had that fear of Allah (SWT) and awareness that he was part of history, the integrity to understand the implications of what his actions meant for the ummah and future generations,the diligence to prepare properly before and after, armed with comprehensive knowledge of the deen to be guided as such. The fall of Constantinople was a massive blow to Christianity ,one they never recovered from and one that changed their history for ever.
An ummah that had Allah's (SWT) permission to rule for 600 years, an ummah that made significant contributions to the fields of science , technology and the arts and where the cry of "Allahhuakbar " could be heard from Central Asia to Eastern Europe and still is today. You only get this level of success if you have great leadership, leaders who fear Allah (SWT) and who understand that they are mere servants of their people for Allah's sake, service with humility.
Sadly, such quality of leadership has all but disappeared in todays ummah and consequently , we find ourselves confounded by ignorance, depravity and confusion ,being attacked by our enemies both outside and inside. We need to learn from history and cease repeating the same mistakes that caused the downfall of those who went before us.
May Allah (SWT) grant the Ummah all that is beneficial and give it refuge from all that is harmful.

I also have the deepest respect for the defenders of the city, especially Giovanni Giustiniani and his soldiers who were the only ones who came for help.
