Greetings this morning from Kansas, OK. Great video and enlightening. I have our Silver Fox Rabbits inside a shelter and still worry about cold weather when it gets down into teens. The shelter has no insulation but does protect them from wind, rain and predators. But, if yours thrive in the conditions in the video, mine will do just fine. We’re quickly approaching our first time to process. Not really looking forward to it but a necessary thing to do. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks.
We love raising rabbits for meat! The first time processing can be intimidating, but you'll do fine. They're pretty quick and easy to clean, and all the meat in the freezer makes it worthwhile. Our bunnies live in a shed without heat or insulation, and they do great even in subzero temps. Best of luck! ✌️
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy them! Sounds like a great set up for them! Yeah, I never look forward to processing but like you said it in necessary. You will get the hang of it. It's a pretty easy process compared to chickens. Like Cornfed Lady said, it's worth it once you see all the meat in the freezer that you raised yourself. :)
Snow is beautiful there. We rarely see that here in Georgia. We’ve had a LOT of rain this winter that I’m sure I will be thankful for this spring and summer.
Beautiful rabbits. We raise new zealand reds here in West Virginia. We usually have a few weeks in January and February where our temos are in the single digits, but seldom get anove 90 in the summer. My rabbits love it when the weathers cold. When its close to 90 they barely eat and just lay around. You can tell its tough on them for sure. I recently read some posts about homesteaders in texas losing alot of rabbits, goats, and such because of the extreme heat theyd had. We're blessed to live in a more tolerable climate here.
Just subscribe, we are about the same on our channel with subscriber count. So happy I found you, I also have been raising meat rabbits for 36 years off and on. Back with them again and will till I die. I'm located in southwest lower Michigan. We get lots of lake effect snow. Thank you for sharing. Till next time God Bless.
