  • Star Wars has too many writers of Star Wars content for each Star Wars publication that is released by Disney. Star Wars has lost its way due to a total lack of focus from George Lucas who is Mr Star Wars and always will be Mr Star Wars. I fear Star Wars will be totally destroyed if it keeps down this path of awful productions which dilute the story further and further. What a mess!

It's not writing. It's the direction. Kennedy has kept making errors.
She greenlights stuff that should not be greenlighted and people working at lucasfilm are starting to transform their work so that it can get greenlighted.
They know that adding DEI and agendas WILL get stuff greenlighted.

Filoni, who currently fills the position you want to be filled, isn’t going to make things better; he’s the reason the EU and Star Wars died in the first place-he basically led the charge, because he doesn’t care. He does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, damn whoever’s work he has to pave over.
He’s produced, cleared, or mentored, almost every one of the shows that’ve come out from Disney-and has a history of chasing out better people, such as Sue Rostoni, Karen Traviss and now John Favreau

I couldn't agree more. The original trilogy will be to star wars fans what Bach, Beethoven, and Motzart is to classical music. But as much as they're mocked, I really really like 1- 2- & 3. But this is my view of Disney Star Wars. And I apologize ahead of time if it gets a bit political.
From my POV Disney never bought Star Wars to make good content or to make $$$. They bought it because the Entire company is run by the wokest of the woke. They bought Star Wars from Lucus because it was wildly popular and had a Huge fan base to tell their woke stories to. These people, people like KK & Hedland are left wing activists first and foremost and will run Star Wars into the ground & their company into complete bankruptcy to do it.
I feel this way because it's been almost 10 years since they bought it and over that time they must have had literally millions of fans All bitching about the same thing. But they've Never, not one time changed a single one of those things. They just double down & call those that don't like the stuff they put out terrible names.
They're all far left wing activists and until/unless Star Wars is bought by someone that isn't we'll keep getting Indoctrination pieces on the toxicity of the patriarchy and chicks that can fight 10 men.
And I will keep calling them out.

Honestly I don’t think it’s the number of writers that’s the issue, but rather who’s writing. I mean just look at GW and Warhammer They have dozens if not hundreds of writers and for the most part what they produce is good.
Because they actually care about quality control, unlike Disney.

    • @ImperialsExplained
      @ImperialsExplained  3 месяца назад

In terms of the number of writers its about continuity and feel of the production. It's very much about that in my view and that is what worries me that they will continue to dilute Star Wars until no one is watching because its lost it appeal to even the average fan. All the criticism of Disney-era Star Wars is earned. However, I think a lot of people these days are giving George Lucas way more credit than he deserves. I honestly don’t know if the quality of writing would be any better with him still in charge.
The list of good Star Wars writers is short… and George Lucas himself is not on that list.

Even though I grew up on the Clone Wars and the Sequels and all the New Star Wars, as I've come into my Teen Years and been able to find and buy the older Legends Books I've found it to be my favorite past time and have loved reading them. Currently I'm reading Isard's Revenge and The Black Fleet Trilogy after having finished the Thrawn Trilogy, I was disappointed when Ahsoka sort of underprovided for Thrawn and the Chimaera after reading three books about the Last Grand Admiral, I feel S3E7 of the Mandalorian did better with a Five Minute Conference for the Empire than 75% of Ahsoka's Imperial Scenes

the reason star wars is on the decline, is because Disney dose not care about star wars but to use it as a platform for their politics, the Acolyte was just so blatant in pushing the agenda that even the most hard core defender of Disney star wars recognize how bad the Acolyte is, but dont give up hope real star wars is being kept alive by the fans, there are countless fan projects that are true to George Lucas star wars, such as fan animations like: For the empire, skyforge space battle animations,DarthAngelus fan made version of heir to the empire, and even lore channels like this one, we are keeping star wars alive, forget the slop Disney makes, embrace legends, we will still be true fans long after Disney have throw star wars in the trash for a fresher franchise to milk and ruin

I agree with what was said in the video, but the EU had a lot of writers and incoherent plot threads throughout the books too. But in terms of film and tv there needs a consistent and constant thread. Most of the tv shows and film have no grandiosity. It feels way too small

  • @DarthSaggezza

There needs to be a Kevin Feige type of figure for the Star Wars property. That loves making great movies at all interconnect in someway or some form. He did a great job with phase 1 through three. Phase 4 and five will that’s debatable, but there was other factors into that as well. I know Kathleen Kennedy is supposed to be that person but I reluctantly agree with you. There’s no continuity. We keep jumping time frames. Like right now we have something 100 years before. Before that we had something 15 years after. Stick with one time frame and move forward. Or go back in time and stick with that timeline. But it all has to connect to The Jedi, Sith, Skywalkers. Palpatine. That’s my opinion.

What weird when it come the current problems with Star Wars is that Leslye Headland also did Russian Doll and that show was good/great? either something happened or she is suffering the same thing that Matthew Vaughn is been doing lately with his new movies?
Regardless if You were the one in charge at Lucasfilm say you somehow convince GIlroy to do more spin off series (after Andor season 2.) what would they be about? would they be a series on The Separatist Coalition, A Imperial Senate show, A Mon Mothma Show (either before or after Andor where it would her during the galactic civil war and the original trilogy) a Anto Kreegyr show during the clone wars (finally given the separatist a story from their perspective?) Saw Gerrera and the Partisans or the New Rebel Factions that Saw mentions and list to Luthen like the Neo-Republicans. or even a luthen show about his backstory, Or Hell maybe a show finally telling the story of the Bothans stealing the second Death Star plans or even a band of brothers show set during the galactic civil War?
I will admit don't hate both Jon Faverau (afterall he was the one who convinced the Marvel Studio to cast Robert Downey Jr for the role of Iron Man.) and Dave Filoni Ultimately I always feel it more of the system that is to blame then the individual themselves. Like even Mando Season 2 has tons of cameos and was more connected to the Skywalker era then season 1 at least it was a well written season plus Lucas admitted he regret on killing Boba Fett off in Return of the Jedi so that's that.
I also wonder what do you think of George Lucas ideas for his sequel trilogy where he based on the state of the galaxy post Endor from The Post Iraq War? Finally and I forgot to mention this what do think of some of the canon books and comics like Alphabet Squadron trilogy, The New Thrawn Novels (Both Imperial and Ascendancy Trilogies.) Battlefront: Twilight Company, The Living Force, Rebel Rising (which tells the story of what happened to Jyn Erso between the prologue scene from Rogue One to when we see her in prison.) Tarkin (The Novel by James Luceno.) Charles Soule's Darth Vader comics (2017.) and Catalyst (The Prequel Novel to Rogue One also by Luceno.)

I agree either 100% of what you said and feel exactly the same. I lost faith in Disney after Kenobi and I am not even watching the latest a content.
When Disney announced that the EU is going to be scrapped in favour of their own canon in 2014. My immersion for Star Wars completely broke. I was 16 back then and just got into the EU after 2008 because of the force unleashed. Every battlefront 2 mission, Empire at War campaign, or any other media had that magical feeling of being a historical document and that “wow this really happened at this point in time” moment. Ever since 2014 that’s all gone. As much as I want legends back I fear it won’t be the best solution. We are exactly 10 years into the Disney lore with an entire generation of kids and young adults who grew up with Disney’s canon ans getting rid of that will destroy their enjoyment as well. But on the other hand… I don’t care, I want the EU restored but Dave Feloni should not be allowed to make retcons I mean stories for it. I believe that the clone wars (2008) is the main reason why we even got a new timeline in the first place. As much as I enjoy certain episodes of TCW it came with a terrible cost.
