    Do those bars tear up the trailer deck? I do forest mulching am in need of a better traction option

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  3 года назад

      As long as you aren't spinning on the deck you should be fine and to be honest a wood deck is better for them. Steel on steel is super slippy.

      They will leave abit if a mark on ashpalt. Hard to run anything steel on it without leaving a mark

  • @markhowes126
    @markhowes126 4 года назад +1

    How much space do they take up between inside of track and machine? On my bobcat t770 there's not much more than a quarter inch to play with. How pricey are they?

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  4 года назад

      If you check his website he has a set on his t870. I'm going to guess that inside gap would be the same but giving them all call will get you the right answer and accurate quote too.

    you ever skid tree length with the skidder? how long do the tracks last on the skiddy

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  4 года назад

      Yes we have before we got the kubota. If we cut alot of big oak the skidder would be the better option thats for sure.
      We got 1500hrs out of the first set on the 95 and going to guess we will get similar on the 90s tracks as well. They are at 1200hrs so far

    Will it work in 3 feet of snow like in northern Ontario

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  2 года назад

      They will go through alot of snow. 3 feet is alot. I haven't gone through a steady 3 feet but have gone through some deep drifts over 3 feet with it. Once you got the trail made everything else is a piece of cake

  • @mikeadams2339

    Have they held up? Ok up icy hills?

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  Год назад +1

      We only run then in the winter but we have 2 seasons on the pair here and they are still in good shape. And yes they will pull icy hills no problem. If you are always in icy conditions then you can get the carbide studs on every 3rd one.

    Hi Kev. I have an svl75 and purchased last years traction bars from pro lynx. Looks like the new ones go on alot quicker or maybe it was just because my tracks were new ??

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  3 года назад

      Hi Robert. If they were tough to get on it was probably cause of the new tracks. A little grease in the ends will help them go on too.

    Mini Bulldozer is right!😮
    Does the extra weight stretch the tracks and need to have tension reset or cause extra wear on gear drive part of tracks??? Awesome product!👍

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  4 года назад +2

      We haven't had any drivetrain problems yet with them and change the drives every 250hrs. We run the tracks a touch tighter but seem to still get good life out of them. The cleats really protect them too.

      @@SkidderKev Wonder how a smooth set would work for summer?
      A design that wasn't as aggressive to not tear up ground bad, yet would extend life of tracks?

    • @SkidderKev
      @SkidderKev  4 года назад +2

      These would still be good in the summer in the bush. And abit of soil disturbance is good for the regen too.
      Don't recommend them in someone's back yard tho haha

    15 years ago I was part of testing and development of an idea that started just like that. What you have will work but it will be rough as hell, and if your in snow those will pack full of snow making the ride even worse. Also the wrong steel will make or break the cleats and rip your tracks apart. Check out pro-lynx traction bars
