I got one, it’s a great statue but the paint on the hair piece WILL TRANSFER and ruin the forehead and face. Use extreme caution when attaching the hairpiece. DO NOT let them touch. I had to use warm water and dawn dish soap to barely polish off the paint marks, I removed the marks but it was an extremely frustrating experience for something so expensive. Ridiculous for the paint to do that. Also, the wires on mine were a nightmare to get inserted in the holes on her back. Beautiful piece but BE CAREFUL.
Sorry. I'm a huge fan of Major Kusanagi. But they didn't get the character at all. The expression of the face and body is very soft and feminine. This is exactly the opposite of the character, which has a body that was developed for the military and moves very androgen, with not much expression on the face. All the rest is great, but the soul of the character is missing.
I love mine but kinda mad the nipples aren't painted on my £1000+ figure...they were in the prototypes. The final version is also rather pale looking. Basically the sculpt is incredible, but the paint leaves a lot to be desired. Feels like it would be worth £500 but not £1000+...but I still love it.

Ooo that's a good question. I have to be honest, I haven't read any of the Ghost in the Shell Manga, I've always known/loved it for the 1st movie (2nd is good in its own right too). So personally, I would start there! The story and animation are still incredible to this day. The mood/vibes of that first movie is perfection.
I want to love it, I’m a ghost in the shell fan I think this is the best statue yet but honestly it doesn’t scream ghost in the shell to me, she is not major Kusanagi I’m looking at. It’s pretty to look at but it’s leaning more to one of those anime hentai dolls, for that price I’ll wait. Honestly it looks kinda cheap.
I like the piece, I’d say the face looks better this way than the anime. You should remember, what you thought looked cool years ago might not look as cool once you look back at it today. The original face would look dull, this face looks more like the new version in the current material.
All time great Anime. That is correct. The Wachowskis (Matrix creator) even asked Shirow Masamune (GitS creator) permission before creating the films. It was even influenced by the Ninja Scrolls as well. They made it like a real action anime movie. I still can recall the water fight and the Uzi in the briefcase scene in GitS. Jay, your video production is 1000% better in quality. The background looks super dope. The statues and the arcade looks god damn good. Kudos to you and the editor. Keep it coming. Love it

Honestly you don't sound truly convinced that you love the figure. I know how you feel though and 100% agree on the mixed media aspect. I was on the fence of getting this I don't feel it's exactly worth it ($1900AUD here). If it was 650AUD I'd probably get it.

Thank you so much! I don't remember the box dimensions offhand and it's somewhere deep in storage now, but I do remember it being smaller than I was expecting. The box definitely won't fit in luggage, but it's not too big to ship, that's for sure. Hope that helps and good luck with the hunt!

Should have had the anime head. I could tell it was a little square and boxy, rather than elegant with larger, glassier eyes on the promo. It does look a bit basic on the detail or sharpness, too, as compared with the art.

What i did receive this week is U loop Studio x Lovecacao (licensed) Knight, and i really like the statue. The box is smaller than expected. I sort of wish the skin tone paint app was lighter. Still, over all, great looking statue. For some reason, unlike other statue providers, the parts in the box are not wrapped in plastic?

Thanks for the review, I had no idea this statue existed! You and I are cut from the same cloth when it comes to anime where 90s anime completely ruled by the titles that you've given. Ninja scroll and Ghost in the Shell are my two favorite animes of all time and I would love to have that statue. I did buy the Ghost in the Shell poster about 20 plus years ago and it has Holograms within her body which is really cool and reflects really nicely in the light. I still have it up to this day .

Ghost in the shell statues sometimes just bad so i wish we got more in the future. 🤣 I do have the art storm one which is more rare and less expensive than this. This motoko is not rare and there are a lot more motoko statues and figures which is more rare than this. It is indeed expesive. But if you love it nobody can judge you. 😁

Totally agree on both parts. It's the recreation of that famous image of the Major that got me though. Over all, it's incredible, just don't look to closely at the portrait lol.

I got mine in. Super happy. Base is the bulk of the weight. Would've liked her to have a bit more weight to her by herself tho. Is yours the same?

Yeah, it's a fair point. It is a little underscaled. Not a ton, but definitely somewhere between 1/5 and 1/4.
