That Christopher Frayling does some of the best commentaries ever. The amount of information he prattles off on those Sergio Leone movies is quite impressive.
I pre-ordered them from Diabolik this morning. And I am right there with you. At this point I don't even know how many times I've bought these on so many different formats over the years. lol
I’ve never double dipped on any 4K’s. But I have to for the Man With No Name Trilogy. Had to preorder. I’m gonna get The Long Kiss Goodnight on the next sale.
You bet! I'm slowly trying to get on a regular schedule with videos. For too long I was saying I was going to but now I am pushing for it. Especially with more reviews and stuff too.
Surprised that Arrow didnt do a big box set with all the dollars trilogy. Its seems each film is getting a premium edition (chunky box). Nice month. FX films are very underated.
I'm surprised too though someone mentioned in another comment that they might be coming in a box set. I hope so because it would be great to have them in one set. Though I do love their single releases. Like with the Conan films. I had to get them individually instead of the two pack. Though I was tempted to get that too. lol Totally agree on the F/X films. I was hoping that was a 4K release.
Richard! Always great to see a new vid buddy! I love FX. Great movie. FX2 is not a bad sequel. I'm kind of surprised FX hasn't been remade though it'd have a lot of CG. The original had a ton of practical effects. Lots of good titles from Arrow! Supposedly Sam Jackson hated that The Long Kiss didn't become a big hit. I heard him say so in a recent interview. Then three weeks go by and I don't make one. lol I love that Sam Jackson was angry it didn't do better. It deserved to be a bigger hit and I like that he is still supportive of it. I agree on F/X. It would make for a good remake if done right. Looks like a nice weekend ahead. Going to actually do some grilling.
I'm so excited for the Dollars Trilogy. There is some speculation as to whether the other two films will be box sets, due to Arrow withholding information. There is a leak online listing all three films as box sets with booklets
That would be cool! Though I hope they'll announce that early so people who prefer a box set will wait. Like what they did with the Conan films. They had them individually or in the one set together. Either way I'm getting all three. lol
I can't wait for "The Long Kiss Good Night" in 4K, it's one of my favorite Christmas movies and I think it could really benefit from a new transfer, the Blu-Ray looks OK but I think it can look much better. Apparently the Arrow releases of "the man with no name trilogy" will be new transfers, there are people who helped with this release in the community like "Damn Fool Idealistic Crusader". He didn't say specifically what part he had in it but if he is to be believed it sounds like they're trying to fix a lot of the issues of these movies and are at the very least using feedback to make these looks as good as possible.
Thank you! I did see the Snake Plissken figure. And I ordered it as soon as I saw it. lol I was debating which version to go with. I like the "real hair" one in photos but I also thought long term that hair could become a big issue so I went with the sculpted hair one. Plus it was a bit cheaper which works too. lol
