Hey Guys after looking through some of the comments rather than trying to reply to everyone I thought I would just simply say that Maurice was not mad. His father referred to him as a special child which is more than likely implied that he has an Intellectual developmental disorder and was likely on the Autism Spectrum... Not trying to preach, lecture or fuss with anyone but saying people with neuro. dev. disorders are mad is an insult to people on the spectrum and the people that love them. Thanks so very much to those that took the time to read this post and I hope everyone enjoyed Passionate ❤ Maurice and Pearl did a fantastic job showing the utmost respect and reverence to people with IDD and all those who support and care for them. Thank you for this information. I'm a therapist and I work with kids on the spectrum and other kids with special needs. These kids are not supposed to be referred to mad. It's a mental health condition which resulted from the brain not fully been developed from birth thereby affects the child's behavior and interaction. A lot of people are less informative about such conditions, but, we will definitely get there 🙏
Maurice Sam sure played this character. From the moment I started watching the movie I also thought Jasper was on the Spectrum. People with Autism are very intelligent even the nonverbal ones. I think Jasper is an high functioning autistic person. The part of the movie I didn’t like was when Juliet & her boyfriend planned for her to marry Jasper & take their money. If it wasn’t for the money they would’ve never gotten married.
This movie made me so emotional ... every one deserves to be loved...sometimes when we see all this mental health people, pls let's try to show them love

ALL i can say is that Maurice embodied his character from start until the end. When he made dinner for his wife, golden; when he cried when his daddee (daddy) die, EPIC; Hats off to Pearl for choosing a man who might not be perfect in some eyes but a man of heart and character. She found real love and got rid of the abusive using taking fake love.
