“ We’re in the business of presenting history because it’s important to the people whom we live, for the good of our society, and of ourselves, and our company and our product. It’s good stuff. Don’t treat it with verbosely.” -Bill Bonds THAT is a Journalist.
Not only Detroit television. I was a regular at W.X.Y.Z. One cousin performed the voices of the 'little girls' on the old "Lone Ranger" radio show. Another cousin directed the "Morning News" and "Kelly and Company" Let us not forget Mr. Bob Hite Sr., filling in for Fred Foy on the Lone Ranger radio show! Mr. Bob Hite also gave us the great introduction to the "CBS Evening News, with Walter Cronkite" and "60 Minutes"!
Because he spoke the truth and wasn't afraid any politician a hard question. Unlike today. Devin Scillian acts like he's Debbie Dingell's Press Secretary.
Because he thought he was the smartest person in the room. And more often than not, he actually was. He had enough talent to be national and if you grew up in Detroit in the 80s and 90s you got to see it every night. But he was a very flawed person and that’s what held him back. And we got to see that every night too.
Another Detroit Legend.
Bill Bonds! Legendary 🇺🇸🇨🇦👍

Yup. I remember Bill Bonds and Marilyn Turner. Didn’t they have a ... thing? Never thought I’d miss those days.

I miss Bill Bonds,
My father once refused Bill Bonds service at a carwash because he couldn't operate his transmission...
Grew up on Billy Bonds and local Detorit tv (Johnny Ginger or Soupy Sales, anyone?). Bonds was the best.

Never understood the appeal of Bonds. He was a pompous drunk with a bad toupee.
