Just watched your Crown and Comments. Just completed my second complete oil change with both filters. As I noted, this is my second oil change event. The neat thing is I'm using AMSOIL METRIC 10W 30 oil. The DCT is noticeable quieter. A friend who purchased a new 2018 Gold Wing DCT Tour noticed the same thing with the AMSOIL. I purchased my 2020 Used from folks in Tennessee as well. Good experience.

Your service experience was in 2009. They are absolutely amazing. The owner is a huge advocate of the Sewell customer service experience philosophy. You might think about taking another visit. Thanks for another fantastic video! I’m also of an age where waiting for the next (maybe) great thing, rather than enjoying the opportunity right in front of you, makes little sense. I purchased a new ‘23 Tour DCT in January and am absolutely loving it. I recently met a friend in Atlanta and we rode rented H-D’s-I live in Las Vegas-through Tennessee and the Carolina’s ending up in New York. I was on a brand new ‘24 RoadGlide. It was a very solid bike with tons of torque. That said, I was never more sure that I made the right choice with the GW! Someday I’ll do the Tail of the Dragon again, but on my GW this time.

Your videos are getting me interested in riding again. It’s been 30 years since I sold my last bike , a 1988 Kawasaki Voyager 1200. I always wanted a GW, but I wasn’t riding due to “life” but the latest advances (DCT, B/t helmets, GPS, etc) have tweaked my interest. I don’t know that I’d ever get my wife to agree and the highway traffic is daunting compared to what it was 30 years ago. So, I’m watching your exploration of your ‘24 with some interest.

I was at my Honda dealership, in Canada, the other day and based off the VIN, they told me my fuel pump is one of the ones that needs to be replaced. They said to call back in a couple of weeks to see if they had gotten any in stock, but I'm not holding my breath. It was nice to be able to confirm whether or not I needed to have it replaced though. On a side note, I took part in a Prostrate Cancer Awareness Ride, yesterday, May 25th. The high for the day was +9C (about 47F) with rain and strong winds the entire day.

At least, the Chinese bike looks interesting. But, to be honest, I`ll go after a Goldwing regardless. I currently ride a Kawa GTR1400, still mega happy with the bike. I ride from the UK to Bulgaria almost every summer. But I feel I need a change. So, though I consider a purchase of a BMW bike/either K1600GTL or R18 Transcontinental/, but my primary choice will be 2021+ Goldwing Tour DCT...

Ref the Chinese “Goldwing”. I think it’s a case of wait and see before making hasty decisions or forming a blinkered view. However, I think the Chinese bike is a BIG kick up the arse to Honda to up their game with the current Wing. As good as it is, it needs a serious upgrade already at the current price point.

Ref the fuel pump. As posted before, my UK 2019 Goldwing fuel pump failed recently. (no recall for 2018-2019 bikes in the UK). Since the pump was replaced a couple of weeks ago, I have noticed a distinct improvement in performance. The bike seem to be more responsive, a smoother ride and the DCT gear changes are smoother.

I am interested in how the DCT handles a trailer at low speed parking lot maneuvers and off pavement grass areas, such as a campsite. I have been on goldwings for over 30 years. I have done field events and top gun competitions . I am use to using a clutch. As I am getting older and arthritis is effecting my hands ,not pulling a clutch lever has my attention. I have not found much information on trailer pulling with the DCT. Maybe you could do a video on this to provide so info .

Chris, congrats on the new Wing. Curious if Honda has reengineered the tour-pack (top-case) so it is more easily removed and reinstalled. I have a 2021 DCT Tour and the inability to take this large heavy trunk off and on is my biggest gripe with the bike. I am aware that Max has a kit to assist with this. Have looked at that closely and after considering the labor to install the conversion parts and the resulting labor involved in taking it on & off, I am passing on it. Just can’t understand why Honda can’t give us a trunk that has maybe 4 bolts inside to remove and a couple of quick-disconnect wiring harnesses to allow a much lighter and sportier ride. BMW has had it incorporated in their K1600 GTL for years now.

I have same exact issue. At some point I will check the circuit current draw for each side grip while also monitoring the total current draw for both. I have been told that Honda may be pulsing the power to each so that only one grip is energized at any given moment in time. In this way, they reduce the overall power drain by 50% on the electrical system ( generator/battery ). A few years back, I ran a test on my Gerbling heated jacket, which I love, to find the actual current draws at various heat settings and was surprised to find a similar pulsed power approach. So if the control was set to a lower setting, the “ON” pulse time was reduced from the “ON” pulse time at a higher setting. I don’t think in the case of the jacket, it was an attempt to reduce current draw on the bike’s system, but simply the engineering of the control to vary the heat delivery, rather than using an inefficient resistor approach. Just my theory and open to being corrected. And how did I read this pulsed current? I had a Fluke multi-meter with a 10 amp. max. series limit connected in-line with the positive circuit conductor and I had current readings that would flash on and off at a speed that was related to the setting of the controller.

Before I entered into motorcycles worlds since 2010..
My 1st motorcycle was made from Chinese technology..
I brought that unit accidentally maybe budget I already have..
Just to make it short..Regarding about Chinese motorcycles..
I agree that In terms of power/speed design & electronics was great..
But didn't not enough to sustain the lorgerabilites..
Maybe rider need extra ability in terms of technical mattes applied..
But I feel great for having a good & bad experience..
This could be my priceless motorcycles until now..
Even I have another 2 kind branded motorcycles

Bolt, Washer and Gasket came in today. It's a updated bolt, Honda knows there is a issue. So I'm changing it out. Honda wont do anything about it until they get backed into a corner and beat on by a major government or governing body. $30 in parts verses any chance of catastrophic failure. It's a no brainer.

Cruize man before you smack the Chinese bike. We need to have a serious talk. Honda has already given in to the Chinese to make parts. I went to my dealership mind you. Because I like to give business locally and I'm wanting authentic Honda part. They called me and I went to pick up my part. I pulled the part of the box to inspect it and you know what I found. Made in China. I am livid. I wonder if all my future parts are going to come from China. I think the Japanese is losing their focus. I thought I could believe in Honda. Seems to me we will have future of our Goldwing's coming from China if this is any indicator.

So many people are talking about Great Wall’s motorcycles that are replicas of Honda and Yamaha. . They just copy and mix. Most cities in China ban motorcycles from entering the city center. If any motorcycle looks good and sells well on the western market, they will copy it with a ruler and camera, and the resulting junk product will not sell many units anyway! This is how Chinese motorcycles entered Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam and Thailand decades ago. Within a few years, the market share reached 90%. After a few years, Chinese-made junk motorcycles gradually disappeared from Southeast Asia. . .

Your wrong on so many levels it isn't funny. Kawasaki and Honda have invested heavily in Chinese manufacturing. Many of the engines found on Chinese motorcycles are built under license from Yamaha, Kawasaki and Honda. The Japanese labor costs are huge. That market, like American manufacturing, has about played out. Now, Japanese Manufacturers are looking for cheap labor to remain relevant. CFmoto is doing well especially considering they're but a start-up. Read the reveiws of the Ibex 800T. It's not quite up to Japanese quality, but the basic tech is there and the price is way lower than the competition. Some of their models like the 400ss are stunning at their given price point. It may not be long until the badge on this Souo 2000 reads Honda Goldwing. I'd bet Honda or Yamaha is behind this effort and may put their name on it once the quality is up.
