- Buongiorno! This week, we finally reach Italy from Corsica under sail, and make landfall in beautiful Sardinia.
Our time in Sardinia is short but sweet. It starts by a Mistral getting us stuck onboard for a few days before we are finally able to leave Polar Seal and dinghy to shore.
Unfortunately, our anchorage consists mainly of resorts, and our attempts at going to land take us in deep ends of a luxury hotel, where we are as stuck as we were onboard.
When we finally leave and set sails towards Cannigione,we stumble upon the pizza world champion and pay them a visit (A visit during which I make a small revelation).
We continue our Sardinian sail towards Cala Gonone, where we stop for the night before heading towards Sicily.

..... boy that Minstral, I think that is what you called it, that sure is quite something looking at your weather plotter ... climbing out through bushes and over fences is one thing, the climbing back in is the challenging one if you are seen and looked at as trespassers and the authorities are summoned ..... laughing ... bet you learnt your lesson about leaving stocking up to the last minute especially when in France..... sure had some nice days mixed in there .... great episode ... have fun be safe, save our oceans .....

Oh nooo Pizza without cheese! sad face ^,^ Your cheeseless pizza looked pretty good Sophie. Italian pizza in Italy is a "bit different" if you had not had it before. It is good but not something I would really crave to eat in Italy with all the other amazing seafood and other cuisine that is available. Beautiful scenery! Thanks for the show! Fair Winds!

Go to Nepal’s you pay 3-4€ for a margarita and it’s pretty amazing! And you can sail after the amazing pizza a ride to Capri :)

there's a shit ton of sailing channels, many of which i watch (too many) ya'll are one of my favorites, other than the ol salty's. them ol dogs that have sailed a life time and have shit tons of real usable, experience for folks like me to learn from.

If I'm not mistaken, that super yacht at 2:16 is the Wally Saudade (www.wally.com/wally-sail/Saudade.html). A 148ft blue water racer from an exceptional yacht builder. It must have been amazing to see it under full sail like that!
No cheese for you? More for me! You know what you like, forget the haters! (BTW, best pizza I've ever had was made in France!)
I personally don't enjoy organ meats (but I'll eat liverwurst), clams or oysters (got sick once on clam chowder, kinda put me off the bivalves), no mutton for me thanks! I've tried everything put in front of me, some things I'll eat again, some with delight!
I am lactose intolerant but I do enjoy cheese which is bad for me.... some scientists think that cheese may actually be bad for people. Until definitive proof, you May live longer without cheese. 👍🙂

€uro 11 for a Pizza is not really Sweden price but still good priced for a tourist town in Italy - especially if they are so awarded. I can understand that, well, it looked alright but nothing more. You have to remember, that for Italians, the bread is really important, not so much what is on the pizza.
So if you ever have French relatives visit you in Stockholm or complain that there is no cheese in Sweden tell them about Falbygdens ost. It is from Falköping, the dairy capital of Sweden. They have a store in Stockholm too. They carry more than 300 kinds of cheese, some important but also some very good culinary tastes that is local.
Question… did you ever consider a wind vane type self steer ? And if you decided not to invest … may I ask about your thinking?

A French person doesn't eat cheese? When I was in Paris, I ordered French onion soup and asked waiter if they can make it without cheese. She said there is no French onion soup without cheese! She was a bit upset! But don't worry. People always have preferences and it should be admired.

Best pizza in the world is Vinnie Van Go Go's in Savannah, Georgia. Yes I've been to New York (many times). Yes I've been to Italy (many, many times). None touch Vinnie's. Seriously.

I understand the cheese. I would literally vomit if I put cheese in my mouth. However it can be overcome, but I warn you, once you start eating it you will for ever. You need a hypnotist and some nice fresh cold Jarlsberg cheese. The hypnotist tells you, you like cheese, you try the cheese and it is wonderful, they count to ten, you wake up addicted to cheese. I had pizza without cheese at Pizza Hut, now I just love cheese. It can raise your cholesterol and your weight, so moderation.

There was a one point when Ryan raise flag up and he was in weird position, where you can see his packed balls - that would maybe explain why you are still with him :) It would be great to see you more in videos and less of Ryan and his mobile phone, cranky face and weird hair!

Dear, dearer, dearerest Sophie, I have been able to tolerate the vegetarian sailors, and hold my nose and get by the Pescatarian sailors (eating fish but not land animals, the logic escapes me). BUT a French personage unwilling to eat fromage?!!! Sacrebleu!!!! An Italian who won't eat pasta, and englishman who won't drink tea, and American who dislikes French Fries or Nachos with Velveeta! This is PROFOUNDLY life shattering. I will have to cogitate on this devastaing revelation. Couldn't you just have a genetic condition like allergies to milk products or even simple lactose intolerance? FYI Bob La Pierre
acsbob hahaha!!! Yeah, the research I’ve done on the topic indicates that it might be a genetic condition. I eat very little dairy as well. Don’t drink milk (taste makes me gag), barely eat yogurt. When it comes to dairy, I compensate everything I don’t eat (cheese, milk, yogurt) with BUTTER, which I consume by the kilo 😅
And I make up for my lost frenchness by drinking in wine what I don’t eat in cheese. It’s worked well for me ;)

What? No cheese? (in my most questioning voice) Well, I guess if there are folks that don't eat meat, or seafood, or roadkill, or "chitlins" (look it up, lol) or what have you, (if you claim to enjoy escargot, I'll lose all respect), then I guess we can all overlook your most astounding flaw of humankind!! With that said, I will only eat cheese if it's within reach, and it don't eat me first!! There are a few stipulations, tho! First, I must be awake!! No sleep cheese eating around me!! Second, I must not have stuffed myself beyond reason, within the last few seconds! Third, it must be placed on some other food source, such as cheese, or another cheese, or even a different variety of cheese!! Fourth, if it is poison cheese, I must be within a few short steps of the emergency medical facility, before I will consume it, no questions asked!! I hold fast to that rule! If any of these rules are not met, I will definitely not eat as much cheese, until the rules are again in place!! I am strict about it!!
I have one question. Wasn't pizza invented to serve as a convenient way to serve cheese?? Lol

As someone living and sailing in Southern Sardinia you did what every tourist fool does, you hit the hell of La Madalena full of rich twats in big boats, naked germans and tourist pizzeria traps, ran down a little of the east coast and then less than half way down veered off to mainland Italy. Shame on you...... you saw nothing of the real Sardinia. However this does mean that I still have my SE sailing paradise free from 100s of RIBS and mega yachts, even in August.
It's a bit of a hoax to say at the end 'follow jour dreams' jour speeding off without seeing the best places. You have a time schedule.... Thats hell not paradise !!!

Never had good pizzas outside of Campania, the Naples region. Sardinia no doubt has great food just not pizza.
