He was the best! He came a long way from Canada to the USA, and made both countries enjoy watching him over the years. He made his mark on TV for almost 6 decades. It's sad that it has been three years since his passing. He will be remembered for bringing knowledge to all of us everyday!
I stopped watching new Jeopardy! episodes when his last show aired in January of 2021. But then I got Pluto TV when they said they were going to put old episodes with Alex Trebek and ever since I have been watching Jeopardy! hosted by Alex Trebek five nights a week. So that’s how I watch the show now.
What a great episode! What a great tribute to Alex Trebek. Just loved him! He was a great humbled man. Always putting a smile on people's faces. Love you, Alex! I surely do miss you a lot! Jeopardy! won't be the same without you. You are the Greatest Of All Time!
The day Alex announced that he was diagnosed with cancer it was a few weeks later that my second mom to me was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer. When my second mom was admitted to the hospital before they shipped her to Syracuse all I wanted was for her to beat cancer for my 23rd birthday. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. Thank you Alex for being an inspiration for me before your passing.
I enjoyed the show often. Also got to work on the Sony lot for Xerox and "Jeopardy" was one of my stops to fix their printer in the corner of secure offices. I often saw Alex's office door, the name on it...and the mini branch library that served as their production space was awesome to be inside of. Passing Stage 10, next to Stage 11 where "WOF" was taped, I would gaze at the large image of Mr. Trebek, and on shooting days, red light meant it was recording the 5 shows. Makes me think now, knowing his journey and what a fine gentleman he is in Eternal love. Thanks for the upload, I truly feel privileged to have done IT work for the show's producers and being allowed inside the offices where I was fascinated how many people contributed to it's over 8,000 taped episodes. I would have never dreamed I would be watching this with emotion now. Age 67, it was a rare privilege to be there at Sony Pictures Entertainment and being able to go fix printers for the show, and others produced in Culver City. Now I'm doing voice over work like Johnny Gilbert on my own and remembering good times talking to Jeopardy staff writing the questions. Seeing the rest of it, was so informative and he was such a gem of a human being upon the Earth we live on in a universe of wonder. May he rest with Angels forever...God Bless.
That man was just as close to the best human being you could possibly be. At least that's what he strived to be. He wasn't perfect but he tried to be as good of a man as he could be. Can't ask for more. RIP
What an inspiration he was!!! Just like Alex, I don't like to complain about the bad things in life, I don't make life all about me, and I live life to the fullest. Also, what he said at 32:40 is the truest statement ever! I have lived by those exact same words when I'm collecting knowledge. I will never see any of that information on Jeopardy or any other game show, but it will come up in some way or another. His sense of humor, his dedication to what he loved, the way that he interacted with people. There will never be another Alex Trebek. RIP Legend!
Always enjoyed watching him, always so entertaining. Deeply missed in our living rooms, and the Colonial Penn infomercials have never been the same - but they had a beautiful tribute commercial when he passed
I grew up in Toronto, Canada when Mr. Trebek was a staff announcer for the CBC. I vividly remember October 1970 Canada was in a political crisis over a British diplomat who had been kidnapped by a Quebec terrorist group (FLQ). The World Series was going on at that time and the CBC had to interrupt coverage of the game to provide updates on the situation. Mr. Trebek provided those updates but also apologized for the interruptions to the game coverage (and provided updates to the score (Baltimore was playing Cincinnati) from the NBC network feed going on in the background) Even then I knew much bigger things would happen in Mr. Trebek's career-and that certainly happened and was incredibly deserved
The original host of the daytime version of Jeopardy-Art Fleming hosted the show from 1964-74. When Merv Griffith decided to bring Jeopardy back in prime time he actually asked Mr. Fleming to resume hosting it--Mr. Fleming however lived in St. Louis and had no intention whatsoever of moving to Hollywood to tape the show--that's when Alex Trebek was offered the job. Interestingly in a taped interview a few years later Mr. Fleming said that he became very good friends with Mr. Trebek and kept in contact with him often. Sadly Mr. Fleming passed away from pancreatic cancer (the same cancer that ended Mr. Trebek's life)
Alex Trebek joins some very classic game show hosts who are gone from us:Bert Parks, Jack Barry, Jack Bailey, Bob Barker, Dennis James, Art Fleming, Art James, Jim Perry, Allen Ludden, Larry Blyden, John Charles Daly, Garry Moore, Peter Tomarken, Wally Bruner, Jim McKrell, Tom Kennedy, Jack Narz, Mike Darrow, Monty Hall and the dean of game show hosts, Bill Cullen.
Tonight a special 20/20 a look back on the host of Jeopardy! He was host for 37 years he did other game shows like Classic Concentration Battlestars and sometimes Wheel of Fortune he was diagnosed with stage iv pancreatic cancer that destroyed his life ABC News contributor Chris Connelly with a look at "Alex Trebek Remembered"

Walter Cronkite has Charlemane the Lion, so Alex Trebek had a puppet co-anchoe too. :) 32:40 He's right, you know. Even in playing the Jeopardy! video games, you come away from them learning things because the information will be a betterment to you in the long run.
