One of my personal favorites definitely has to be melty molten galaxy, it provides for 6 interesting stars and has difficult platforming and fiery Dino piranha, the hardest boss in super Mario galaxy(excluding daredevil comets).
and one thing for the final castle in 3d land, if you look really closely after you defeat bowser the remains of the castle is actually what made the ruined kingdom in Mario odyssey, and in Mario odyssey when you open the map in the ruined kingdom it says "a grim reminder of past conflicts ." a reference to the final battle of super Mario 3d land.
