I had never played a Ys game before, but I loved Ys VIII! The characters were all so interesting and likeable, and I really enjoyed seeing them become a found family on the island. The gameplay was super satisfying, and I liked that there was a variety of things to do so I never got bored after 80+ hours. Admittedly though it can be a little grindy if you love crafting or if you want to unlock a bunch of the Achievements. This was a fun collab to watch! I enjoy seeing different perspectives on the same game. I always appreciate you giving your honest opinion about why you may not have liked something, but totally respecting that other people feel differently. Now on to watch Part 2!
To answer your question: My party of Trial of mana remake is Riezt (main, her Vanadis outfit is the best), Charlotte and Angela, I played with the same party in the original ( in emulator) but my protagonist was Charlotte that time. I had played all original 3 games of the Mana series and most of their remakes, also 3 of the spinoff, I just love it. I recommend checking out the remaster version of Legend of Mana. Nice video, very informative.
@@MissBubbles As someone who has played the OG SO2 game, i assume the combat is the same, so no... it isn't difficult at all to play. Is it grindy? a little, but I say most old school JRPGs have some grind to them. You really SHOULD play it though, the story is amazing.
thanks for the video ♥️ Ni no Kuni 2 was the first game I decided to platinum 🏆 back on PS4. I still get a warm feeling of nostalgia whenever I i see the gameplay or hear RUclipsrs talking about it. LOVE the game. Still searching for another one to give me similar emotions like NiNoKuni 1+2, although i got FFVII remake/rebirth on psn sale recently and I had a blast finishing the first part.
Ni no Kuni has my whole heart and wins for my favorite game I’ve ever played. The characters felt so real to me, I laughed out loud so many times at Drippy! The gameplay was so addicting and the creature collecting had me hooked! I loved the whole style of all the worlds and the traversal. Such a gem! The second one I love as well, but haven’t beat yet. And Ys 8 was magnificent!! The story, the characters, the exploring!! I loved the hub area and the combat was smooth and easy! It’s a franchise I wanna dive more into! I’ve played Ys Origin as well 😊
Cool collab! Ni no kuni and Star Ocean 2R are definitely top tier. IF anyone is looking for more, I suggest Astral Chain and Tales Series (Symphonia and Vesperia). Good list overall!
Star Ocean 2. Not a grind fest on the remake. I’d actually say, they made a good balance between making it too easy or going the hard route by not adding the game breaking configurations. Give it a try it’s amazing! Ps - I actually clicked on this video because I saw Star Ocean 2.
I’ve never heard of Anno Mutationem! Wow does it ever look gorgeous and unique! The gameplay seems fun and different and I’m totally gonna check it out! Thanks for another recommendation Miss Bubbles!😊 I always trust your opinions!
Great video and love the games mentioned! Star Ocean: The Second Story R is one I played on the easiest mode but I will say, even on the easiest mode don't let your guard down! There are s few tips and tricks to make it easier and had I not done some of those things it would have been a little tricky. So yes, I recommend it because it's doable but it's not a cakewalk! :)
Now this is my type of video, high speed hack n slash with combos is still the best subgenre in gaming, and it needs to be normalized again like back in the ps2 and ps3 era Mana, Ys, Star Ocean, Ni No Kuni, the old days are so back Looking forward to Visions of Mana and Ys X Nordics later this fall
I looooved Xenoblade 2! The combat in XB1 was too static, so I couldnt get into it until now (I'm trying, because I wanna play for the story!) But then Xenoblade 2 came and with it so much QoL and a more fun battle system (though I had to watch some yt tutorials on it LOL) and the story of XB2? Oh. My. Gosh. I couldnt put it down, there was plot twist after plot twist, this game was just playing with my mind 😂 I enjoyed XB3 too, but after XB2 I expected more depths from the story.. I liked the gameplay and the sidequests, but the moral of the story was just too basic imo. The story itself was such a good idea, but I feel like they could have done more with it or reveal the final parts of the storyline a bit earlier? But yeah, I should definitely try XB1 one more time!!
@@MissBubbles I understand, their combat is probably the most complicated and "strategic" I've ever seen in a JRPG 😅 what helped me was to focus on combos! Maybe you could look up combo chains? The attacks are all tied to different effects. Iirc break, topple, launch (to the air), smash (back into the ground) for best dmg! Most important was always launch+smash
Did this with David Vinc's video so I'll do likewise with yours and comment on some of the games you recommended :D Trials of Mana: Hoo boy, another great starter! I've played through this so many times, it's not funny. 😆Or maybe it is. Though come to think of it, I still haven't beaten EVERYONE'S story yet! Ys 8: Man, a part of me has been curious about this franchise...I know of it, but I've only played Ys adjacent games. Not particularly sure if I should try one of them out or even which is best to start with for that matter. Harvestella: Funny, I ordered this from Amazon a month ago after giving the demo a second try (my first attempt didn't go over well, as I barely explored much of said demo before giving up). From what I played, it was pretty fun! I plan to jump into the full game once I clear my current backlog a bit. ANNO: Mutationem: OOOOOH, THIS ONE! Played it on launch and beat it in just a few days! A great game indeed! 👏 Star Ocean: The Second Story R: 👏👏👏
You must play Starocean Second Srory R it's THE best remaster ever made! SO2 is also one of the best Starocan games. However The Divine Force is great too!
Great picks by both of you! i don't know if it counts as an action game per se because its more of a mystery style adventure. But Raincode master detective archives is very good i highly recommend it. for me it ran very well on switch.
How can u play skyrim and not beat a single dragon? 1 rst of all u got 2 dragons to beat just in the beginning of the main quest, plus u need to beat dragons to get the shouts, or else ur fighting skills are so low u cant do anything.i dont get it, maybe i ddnt understand .🤷🏼♀️
You can by reaching the first destination and then going doing everything else. All factions and encounters are available and my journal is stacked with quests even after 300 hours
@@MissBubbles but does that mean u skipped the main quest? U know when u have to go see the guys in robes up in the mountain , (dunno their names in english, greybeards?) I thought u had to have beat at least 1 dragon? Wait, does that mean u actually beat the game without shouts?? That s bloody impressive! 😮
@@MissBubbles yea I could see that. MHW was my first and it did overwhelm me at first, but the overall gameplay loop I found to be much better than Rise. Rise got rid of the tracking, which to me, was an integral part of the hunting aspect.

lol i wasn't expecting to hear david's voice. that man sure does get around. i'm happy for him.

@@MissBubbles agreed! 👍🏾
David: I looooove this game.

I think Ni no Kuni 2’s battle system plays like Tales of or Star Ocean. Which I really like.
Nino Kuni is a lot easier though than let's say Tales of Arise

@@MissBubbles so true
Turned based isn't for everyone but glad you're getting into them as well as the action based games there's so much to enjoy.
This is an interesting list for sure! My 10/10 game is Final Fantasy VII og, remake, rebirth and crisis core! It's THE best jrpg ever made!
Good list. Nice to see Ni no Kuni 2 on this list.
Honey wake up its another david and ms bubbles collab ❤

The game that I got as a collector's edition but have barely played it lmaooo
I’ve actually been replaying the trials of mana remake😊
I played it a bit myself last week too!
This is a great list though I could not get into Monster Hunter Rise. Tales of Vesperia is another good game, if you catch it on sale.
Ys 8 runs like ass on the Switch. Give it another shot on your PC. It’s also nothing like Xenoblade, as Ys map is pretty linear once you get going.
I played it on PC to be fair and still did not enjoy it!
@@MissBubbles that’s a bummer. It’s such a good game, music and atmosphere. Did you enjoy any of the other Ys games?
I just discovered this channel from Davidinc channel.
Definitely worth a sub. Her content is really good imho.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the best of the three in my opinion
