I love this song and love Donovan. I have been a fan for a very, very, very long time, since I was a young girl. I was lucky to see him in Monterey, California in a concert there on May 29, 2009. He was really good and put on a wonderful concert! I listen to a lot of folk music and a fan of many different folk artists but Donovan by far has always been # 1 for me.
Yes, he is realy a legend and i'm happy for his comeback the late years. maybe we both are lucky and sometime one of all the guys in this world show us the video form the live concert^^
this is the most perfect mix of music that i have listened to on RUclips, so beautiful, so much like my own taste and favorite artists. thanks for creating it.

Me too. The TV show was the Bobby Gentry Show
This song is from the Album "Rising", his third LIVE album,
wenn i remember correct, its from the album RISING (1986). but its an old irish or scotish folksong i think.
friendly regards
Shizhee
I prefer the slow version but still great as all your songs dear Donovan x
Michel GHEZZI I agree, where can we track it down?
Is that Ian Anderson on the flute? Sure sounds like him ! A long time fan of Donovan and Jethro Tull, 40 years and still love their music.
the flute was played by Paul Horn wich you can find on wikipedia for more informations^^
Shizheee Sounds like Harold Macnair to me....
wunderbares video, wunderbar arrangierter song , thanks donovan !
dennoch:: es gibt von ihm eine langsamere version , die bevorzuge ich !
I think the first time this melody was paired with this Child Lyric was back in the seventies by Steeleye Span
I've seen this pairing in books from the 60s
Me too!
Altan, the irish band sings a cover of this song
@Shizheee YES THATS CORRECT BUT IT IS ALSO ON ABOUT 7 OTHER CDs BECAUSE I HAVE THEM
