some updates on the iceberg facts: Mew under the truck - Someone was able to use an in-game hack via code manipulation in order to make Mew REALLY be under the truck. "no, you're not the one." - in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, interacting with a Hex Girl NPC, she would say "no, you're not the one.", followed by her laughing, as she was making fun of the player. Masuda also said in an interview that he didn't know anything about the easter egg, announcing that he was quite scared at the discovery. Mossdeep Space Center - Clearly the speculation become the Delta Episode of Pokemon ORAS, since you fight Deoxys in space. Illegal Pokemons - oh boy, where do I start... so, not to be that guy, but the fact that shiny locked pokemons are illegal is pretty hypocritical, as Game Freak itself has repeatedly given away legendary shiny pokemon via secret gift. Now, if you REALLY want to talk about illegal pokemon, the reason would be another. You see, in Gen. 8 there was a big controversy regarding the two legendaries of Galar (Zacian and Zamazenta), as they both have deadbrain stats (Zacian the most, since it can oneshot pokemons easily thanks to his signature move) that make them op and hard to beat. Hooked Dragonite - the only thing I can think of is a glitch/code manipulation where you can fish a Dragonite. Pokemon movie promotes abstinence - i only have one thing to say: BLAME 4K!DS!. and now, facts that are worth to be part of the iceberg: Lana's Eevee and the Pikachu valley inspired Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee customization - So, we all know that in Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee it is possible to customize our pokemon starter, giving it a new hairstyle among other things. Now, doesn't that sound very familiar to you? Well, in the sun and moon anime, Lana gets an Eevee with a tuft of hair covering the pokemon eyes. Still in the same anime, it is also possible to notice that in the Pikachu valley there are Pikachus with different hairstyles as well. I think this was a coincidence or rather an inspiration from the customization. Pokemons in Explorers of Sky prior to their official release in DPP - In Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, there are several pokemons that will officially appear in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum (such as Munchlax, Riolu and Lucario). Iris Excadrill predicted Pokemon affections status - in the Pokemon Black and White anime, Iris's excadrill has the main role of not listening to her, probably because he doesn't sees her worth to be his trainer. Fast forward to X and Y, and there's a new mechanism that allows pokemons to get some bonuses thanks to their affection state you can increase by interacting with them.
I do like to give my two theories dont know if someone else pointed this out. The 4 moves limitation was crearly due to hardware as a result of low memory. Following games were suposedly created with a infinite or 6 moves aparently until they roled it back. Similar on how we use items. Cubone evolution clearly states he wears his mother's skull as a helmet. That implies to evolve one you as a trainer need to kill his mother.
"Bruno does not aknowledge that Ash is his own son, so it can't be true" If you go to an American ghetto you'll probably find plenty of deadbeat daddies who don't aknowledge their own kids when they see them, but they still related
It's possible the Indian elephant theory is a reference to Thomas Edison's infamous demonstration of DC electric current on an elephant, inevitably killing it.
Excellent explanation of each layer. It's always fun seeing which one I know of and didn't. But man, some of the placements is weird. I have _never_ heard of the "James being Ash's dad" one (though I have seen him being a sibling) but the "Mr. Mime being Ash's dad" was a common one back in my day right next to the "Professor Oak being Ash's dad". I have to wonder if this iceberg was made by someone who came into the fandom late because it feels like its missing a some of the old (and popular) theories. Like, where's the "Giovanni is Ash's dad" theory? Or the "Ash is in a coma"? Those were SUPER popular back in the day. Even so, I think there was still loads I didn't know of. Like Pokemon Pink; I could swear I've seen the image 8:28 before but I have no memory of this entire theory/confirmation.
13:44 just a slight correction here, to my knowledge if a gen 1 pokemon with the correct IVs is transferred to gen 2 it will ALWAYS be shiny, but I cannot speak for how it works going to more recent gens
Good video. A nostalgia flashback to all the school yard rumors we kids had back then. From ''Ho-Oh is responsible for ashs constant age, Mew is under the truck to various 10FPS ''unregistered hypercam 2'' hack videos of ''How to catch Lugia in Pokemon Ruby. Good times.

OH! just noticed this but you missed the “n is a zoroark” bit in the second section ^^; NO BIGGIE THO that one’s pretty popular lol
Lily thanks! Unfortunately I noticed the missing N theory only after completing the edit. But hey, if there’s demand I could tackle a second iceberg and fit that in as well.
Donphan was featured in the opening battle sequence of the first pokemon movie before Johto's reveal, similar to Togepi and Marill. Though I think it was during a musical number and all trainers and pokemon were muted, it's possible the trainer at one point said "Donphan I choose you!" or "Good work Donphan." Without a canonical text appearance of name yet, people would have spelled it Donfan.
I tried researching donfan, and i got nothing. WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS MEAN?! Edit: ohh, its a bad misprint/bootleg card. On the other hand, i need to see what gen 4 meth is
I think my fav BS pokemon theory is Giovanni as Ash's dad b/c it's based almost entirely on a scene from the american-only pokemon stage play/musical/thing, which isn't canon in the slightest BUT I don't think there's anything in the anime contradicting it and come one. The DRAMA.
Idk if this should be in the iceberg or not (or if its even real) but I vaguely remembering people roleplaying and sending NSFW pictures through the pokemon X and Y friend thing
The hooked Dragonite, I should clarify, is actually a soft lock. The procedure used to trigger the effect is messing with the script that leads you to Pewter Museum. The glitch procedure corrupts this process and interrupts this script with the Dragonite encounter before it can properly terminate, resulting in the player's controls being completely disabled in the encounter. The ZZAZZ Glitch's video on the topic is highly informative and I recommend checking it out.
As far as the Ditto is a fail Mew clone theory goes, in Red and Blue (and Green) you could catch Ditto on Route 13, Route 14, Route 15, Route 23 and the Cerulean Cave. Pokemon Yellow was the only game where you could only catch Ditto in the mansion and Cerulean Cave. Though Gamefreak is definitely aware of the theory, because in Let's Go, maybe around a decade after the theory was born, there are a lot more cloning pods in the basement of the mansion where Mewtwo was clearly born, and the basement just so happens to be Ditto's highest spawning point with a 10% chance of finding one. They basically made this theory into a reality.
Funny thing is, the only theory I believe is "Wobbuffet's tail is its true body". My theory is that the tail contains a brain and a nervous system (and maybe a heart), while the rest of the body only contains a digestive system and an excretory system.
Also, I think the alchemy theory in Sun/Moon could be true. As for the "Kadabra are human children" theory, I don't believe it and just think that it is an in-universe urban legend that for some reason you put in the Pokedex and get recorded as a result. I mean, if that's true, does that mean that Abra are human babies that got turned into Pokemon?
I have a “no, your not the one” theory. The girl is actually the Ghost type gym leader in the Galar region, or should I say future one. She said “your not the one” because she knew that there will be a mysterious trainer catching eternatus, and becoming the champion and when people try to talk to her, she can identify if it’s the person. she knew everything about the future and soon got identified. So she went to the Galar region and got a new identity, and became the ghost type gym leader so she can experience more better at the right region, and get a new identity.
It’s definitely an interesting take on the “ghost girl” theory, but I believe the Galarian ghost gym leader was confirmed to be male (not that the girl couldn’t have experienced a transition, hope it’s the correct term).
Joey is alternate-universe Ash after he died in the first movie. He loses his memory because Pikachu and everyone else left before he was revived. He has vague memories of a small rodent pokemon that was his friend, which leads him to Rattata. Instead of wanting to catch all the pokemon he wants to train Rattata to his fullest potential instead.
The “it wasent porygons fault” is because it was pikachu who made the lightning strike, and the flashing lights from caused strikes caused the seizures
I can debunk the Giovanni committing suicide theory with two pieces of evidence Red’s age, and The Pokemon World Tournament, in which Giovanni can be battled. It is confirmed that time passes and the gen 5 games are no different. Black and White 2 occur two years after the events of Black and White, in which Red is considered to be around 15 according to Bulbapedia, which means during Black and White, Red would have been roughly 13, which lines up with the timeline of the Johto games, taking three years after the events of the Kanto games, where Red was 10. This means Giovanni could not have committed suicide as he is still alive during Black and White 2. The splash could very well have just been a pokemon that he didn’t use during the battle with the trainer that he sent out to use Waterfall. Him owning a Whiscash doesn’t seem too farfetched seeing as it’s a ground type.
I caught pokerus in Ultra sun, than found out it could spread and stored them in the PC. Apparently I had the 3 day strand and began spreading it to pokemon I didn't want and gave them away on mystery trade spreading it more lol. I loved the disease due to the XP gain and how useful it was, may as well give.
The Red and Blue MISSINGNO. and M' are the most well known. But while MISSINGNO. in yellow has the same name and properties (albeit a very glitchy mess as it can crash the game multiple times), M' in yellow does exist, however it has a different name. It's name in yellow is 3TRAINERPOKÉ$. Other than a recolour of the sprite, Yellow's M' has the same sprite, which is rare since the other glitchmon don't. It is also apparent that there are multiple versions of M'. For example, there is a version where it appears as a Charizard. I have gotten Pokérus in Black 2 and Ultra Sun. I think I got it in Shield but idk And i'm pretty sure that the "wobbufett is the tail" theory was confirmed by game freak (if not then i am a dummy)
In a world like Pokémon, I could definitely see something like that one Sinnoh book happening, especially when many Pokémon are often portrayed as being about as intelligent as humans.
Something that really bugs me is the fact that some pokedex entries, for example, Pikachu one, asign an animal to the pokemon, I like to imagine, that, the pokedex writters in the pokemon world, this is the rat pokemon, whats a rat? I dunno, but its very fitting
7:33 I'm not gonna argue with the other examples, but isn't that one on the left a taiyaki, a Japanese fish-shaped cake usually filled with bean paste?
The people are pokemon/common ancestor theory is quite plausible considering that many pokemon have pokedex entries that describe humans becoming them in one way or another, i.e: Yamask being a literal human ghost. Or alakazam transforming from a child. Enough is implied to at least infer that human genes/biology is somewhat similar or compatibile with pokemon which is why so many pokemon came from humans.
The venomoth/butterfree swap theory always annoyed because how both the origin of the line and how animals can make themselves look more dangerous than they actually is an actual thing
In pokemon black and white the desert region pokemons reference that they are humans that became pokemon after death, most of then beying killed by them

Btw bel video bro
r brimk as I’ve said under other comments, unfortunately this Reddit thread is the only mention of “DONFAN” I was able to find www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/9bmjlw/my_friend_has_a_pokemon_card_of_a_donfan_evolving/
Grazie 😁
Donfan may be a reference to "Roll! Loving Donfan!", an episode from 2000 that misspells Donphan.
hey, man. good video. i just want to ask where you're from? i've never heard that kind of accent before.
Thanks! I’m from Italy.

Ash being Gary’s uncle isn’t that strange considering that Jotaro is Josuke’s Nephew in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
Fr0stko is this a JoJo reference?
Damn Joseph ,damn
@@francescobilleci yes it is indeed. ;)
some updates on the iceberg facts:
Mew under the truck - Someone was able to use an in-game hack via code manipulation in order to make Mew REALLY be under the truck.
Pokemon movie promotes abstinence - i only have one thing to say: BLAME 4K!DS!.
and now, facts that are worth to be part of the iceberg:
Lana's Eevee and the Pikachu valley inspired Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee customization - So, we all know that in Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee it is possible to customize our pokemon starter, giving it a new hairstyle among other things.
1:53 me looking at part 4 of jojo
i was waiting to see this exact comment lmao
Just finished the JoJo anime and I do now get this reference lol
13:44 just a slight correction here, to my knowledge if a gen 1 pokemon with the correct IVs is transferred to gen 2 it will ALWAYS be shiny, but I cannot speak for how it works going to more recent gens
The "donfan" entry refers to the starting scene in the first pokemon movie. The trainer ash battles has a donfan.
Pretty nice video! your voice is calming~
Good times.
nice video! i’m surprised about the bit about munna being hinted at way back in g1 and the whole deal with hypno not being anywhere on the iceberg, but it was cool to see rumors and whatnot that i knew about!
OH! just noticed this but you missed the “n is a zoroark” bit in the second section ^^; NO BIGGIE THO that one’s pretty popular lol
On the other hand, i need to see what gen 4 meth is
unfortunately I haven’t found anything related to “gen 4 meth” :(
a friend of mine suggested it could be a reference to tweaking (the thing you do with the bike to access the void), but I’m not sold on it
@@francescobilleci i guess it's low down on the abyss for a reason
i looked up "donphan misprint card" and couldnt find anything too weird. only thing i saw was the phanpy card in a wasteland. what did you see?

Goddamn, Meowth insulted Jesse's masculinity and James' femininity at the same time.
I think my fav BS pokemon theory is Giovanni as Ash's dad b/c it's based almost entirely on a scene from the american-only pokemon stage play/musical/thing, which isn't canon in the slightest
BUT I don't think there's anything in the anime contradicting it and come one. The DRAMA.
I have a real copy of Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal. I don’t know if there’s any more copies of it around, but I’d imagine there is at least one other
Idk if this should be in the iceberg or not (or if its even real) but I vaguely remembering people roleplaying and sending NSFW pictures through the pokemon X and Y friend thing

Well, this kinda happened in JoJo. Professor Oak is Joseph Joestar confirmed.
Just realized how much there are names in pokemon similar to part 5 of jojo.
It’s definitely an interesting take on the “ghost girl” theory, but I believe the Galarian ghost gym leader was confirmed to be male (not that the girl couldn’t have experienced a transition, hope it’s the correct term).
for some reason, Donphan was credited to be a Pokegod, probably under the name “Donfan”

Whole iceberg explained ____is ash’a dad
Wait what the HELL was that abstinence clip lmaoooo
Joey is alternate-universe Ash after he died in the first movie. He loses his memory because Pikachu and everyone else left before he was revived. He has vague memories of a small rodent pokemon that was his friend, which leads him to Rattata. Instead of wanting to catch all the pokemon he wants to train Rattata to his fullest potential instead.
"A shiny version of a shiny lock Pokemon" *shows celebi*
i should not be watching this so late at night, not because its particularily scary but because im a little baby
Wailmore [GD] e
The gs ball also was a dropped plot point on the anime
Yup, you’re right
I caught pokerus in Ultra sun, than found out it could spread and stored them in the PC. Apparently I had the 3 day strand and began spreading it to pokemon I didn't want and gave them away on mystery trade spreading it more lol. I loved the disease due to the XP gain and how useful it was, may as well give.
honestly it sounds more like their encouraging same sex relationships
I think I got it in Shield but idk
And i'm pretty sure that the "wobbufett is the tail" theory was confirmed by game freak (if not then i am a dummy)
2:30 this is nightmare fuel thank you I hope these stay far away from me in my dreams
i actually found an iceberg video without someone getting nostalgic over the topic of the iceberg
In a world like Pokémon, I could definitely see something like that one Sinnoh book happening, especially when many Pokémon are often portrayed as being about as intelligent as humans.
Great video! I love these iceberg videos lol
In oras there is posters and signs showing alola.
Something that really bugs me is the fact that some pokedex entries, for example, Pikachu one, asign an animal to the pokemon, I like to imagine, that, the pokedex writters in the pokemon world, this is the rat pokemon, whats a rat? I dunno, but its very fitting
i finally have pokemon uranium but im terrified that its gonna give me nightmares of nuclear fallout again
15:42 james, what are THOSE
7:33 I'm not gonna argue with the other examples, but isn't that one on the left a taiyaki, a Japanese fish-shaped cake usually filled with bean paste?
Now that you point it out, it makes much more sense than Ash just biting into a deep fried whole Magikarp.
@@francescobilleci My thoughts exactly haha.
imagine playing pokemon and all the sudden you catch a pokerus pokemon and think your pokemon game is gonna get hacked or deleted
Also: Why the fuck does Deoxys shifts into a more humanoid figure when it is attempting to interact (not attack) the world around itself?

The venomoth/butterfree swap theory always annoyed because how both the origin of the line and how animals can make themselves look more dangerous than they actually is an actual thing
I keep getting videos about this recommended. I am here.
EDIT: Pokemon war sounds cool.
I think the Donphan part refers to how Donphan appeared in the first Pokémon movie which was before gen 2
"there's no indian elephant pokemon to date", but what about Copperajah? Isn't that kind of exactly what it is-?
What I meant to say was that there were no Indian elephant Pokémon at the time the Dex entries were written.
Thank you for the comment :)
calyrex sure likes skiing
The "Ash has eternal youth" theory makes no sense because nobody around him ages either.
Possibly wished for everyone he ever meets obtains eternal life? Maybe just a thought
In pokemon black and white the desert region pokemons reference that they are humans that became pokemon after death, most of then beying killed by them
