Hey mate... I don't usually leave comments on youtube, but just wanted to say thank you! Your videos have helped me transform my T5, save money and not break anything lol! Very informative! Keep making videos!! :)
Just got my t5.1 and the first thing I did after driving it back was park it and fold the mirrors and sure enough I broke one off. They are supposed to fold up. Anyway, will take it apart and see what the fix is, might add to G Dubs video with some fix tip videos.
Yep, I only paid £50 for them as they were European ones.. looked great but the angles of the mirrors were all wrong so had to lean right over to the left to be able to use the near side one! 🤣🤦🏻♂️
alright mate great video does it matter if the wing mirror is electric / heated in regards to fitting a new one as mine is broken and the whole wing mirror needs replacing
Can you not run a loom for the electric mirrors I I havnt bought these exact ones I went for the t5.1 none power fold but was still use the electric control
@@gazzaclarke42 I don't own it anymore, but yes, was lowered 40mm on springs only. Used to rub on full lock on inner arches on drivers side. Also a real bone shaker over potholes!!
Nice and easy mate, I notice you have sprayed your side air vent covers too. How do they come off? Tried mine but scared of breaking them. Thanks need more videos lol
You have to pop off the sides of the dash (the bits that butt up against the door). Then there is a T20 screw holding it in directly from behind. It's a bit of a pain to get to. I used a T20 socket and undone it using my fingers. It pretty much just pries off after that.
I've got 10mm spacers on the fronts (not on the backs) and my wheel bolts are 10mm longer as well. No other changes. Mine can tend to rub on the offside front on full lock sometimes, was worth without the spacers but drives fine even if a little harsh over bumps. You certainly feel the potholes more and it's hard going on your drivetrain (driveshafts, gearbox, etc). Mine has been dropped prob about 30/40mm on springs only. No other changes than that.
Thanks for your comment bud. I preffer having them white. Will be getting the covers on these sprayed when I get some bodywork done in the autumn. Until then these are staying black

I never noticed them shaking, but sold the van some.months ago
Hi, i'm currently doing a few bits and bobs to my T5.1, I want to spray my front and rear badges black, but am not sure how to remove the rear badge?
Sorry, never done mine. If your on Facebook ask the question in the VW T5 Forum. Someone in there will know!
Great content. Keep it up!
Thanks :)

Probably could have, mine didn’t have connectors I could find on the van to hook into. Personally wasn’t that bothered to try and wire them in 👍🏼
Thanks mate. Just what I needed! 👍👌👏🍻
Glad it helped mate ;)
Great vid . Nice wheels what are they 22s ?
Yep, 22” Land Rover Overfinch alloys with spacers
@@GDUBTV thanks mate is it lowered too

@@GDUBTV thankyou
I'm thinkin if these t5 are better then the t6. Lol. As I had someone knock into one. Does the t5 style go forward and back. Or just back
As t6 goes towards the top it breaks if someone goes into jt

Well done. Great channel. If I buy mirrors for vw t after 2010 it should fit on wv 2007?
Yes they will
Thx man. How many inches your wheels?
They are 22" Land Rover Overfinch alloys
G Dub Campers you needed spacers, longer bolts? Different suspension plate?

Colour-coded ones look better apart from the chips
The old ones looked nicer. Colour coordinated. :(
