His reflections and your words of condolence at the end of the video were incredibly moving and inspiring.

Dan Vasc : I agree with your analysis of Andre's kindness for 100 %.
I met him with Angra in 1997 during their first european Tour, I was the President of the French Metal Warriors (official fan club of Manowar), Andre accepted to be our member of honour. I won't never forget. We all miss Andre.
It is so hard for those of us who are left behind when someone who has such an impact on our lives finishes what they are here to do; They leave without warning and take with them a piece of us. That piece goes to paradise with them.
Huge respect Dan! Not only your cover but also your talk after the song. André was indeed a master of falsetto dynamics among other things. I wrote the same thing in my own tribute video I did a few days ago and by that time I had not even seen your cover. That really shows that Matos style goes across borders and influences people all over. The little thank you scene from Matos at the end of your video was very touching and I deeply thank you for sharing all of this. We should honor André with a duet. We have been talking about it for a while now but man do we need to do it at this time. What do you think? People would surely enjoy it as much as we would. Or what do you think everyone? In my profession I meet a lot of people who are afraid of death and the thought about leaving this world. Andre seems to had found comfort and satisfaction in the day that was his by then, and in life no matter when it will be over on earth. Such a beautiful moment in a beautiful surrondings. Que BAITA homenagem. Coração na boca. Lindas palavras no final. André era um expoente do Metal no Brasil e grande responsável por fazer-nos acreditar que sucesso era possível. Que daria pra viver de música de qualidade no Brasil. O pequeno e difícil mercado do Metal no Brasil existe por que caras como ele inspiraram um geração inteira de músicos. Vide você mesmo. Uma alma bondosa e gentil, de talento ímpar e que fará muita falta não apenas pela sua música, mas pelo seu exemplo e inspiração.

Parabéns! Tenho imenso, brutal orgulho de ser Brasileira e, por termos tido, em nosso currículo, em nossa história, um músico como o André Matos. Ele não foi só um cantor, pianista, multiinstrumentista. Ele era um profundo conhecedor de música. Cantava com maestria em agudos inacreditáveis. Para mim, foi injustiçado, pois beirava a perfeição. Deveria ter sido o escolhido para substituir Bruce Dickson, no Iron Maiden, independente do concurso ter sido válido ou não. O próprio escolhido, não lembro o nome agora, confessou que o André tinha muito mais o perfil do Iron, enfim. Foi cedo demais. Tinha muito a contribuir c a música, rock MUNDIAL ainda. Deixou um legado incrível, reconhecido como um dos maiores cantores de rock do mundo. Saudades eternas André Matos. Todo meu respeito a você, pelo homem incrível que foi, elegante, educado, com formação em música erudita, piano clássico. Saudades.

I met Andre twice in Argentina when they were doing a show with Shaman (first time doing an album signing at a record shop). There was a huge line and I asked him a simple singing question. He held the line, took the time to think and gave me some of the best advice ever. Of course, I never made it anywhere (nor did I really try) but his advice stayed with me until today.

I've been listening to Angra like forever and despite of all the line changes, Andre is still the best vocal they had..it defined Angra, you say Angra, you think of Andre right away. then you'll see the totality of talent the band has, from Bittencourt to Kiko, these are like guitar gods to me, and the rest follow. watching Dan Vasc do Carry on just brings all back. we miss you Andre Matos.
