For all the people commenting about she always uses the same moves, recently marissa has changed them up a bit and also I bet almost everyone who comments about her needing to use other moves probably doesn't know the difficulty of what she does, show some respect! Mellifluous AJ You have it wrong. I was one of those commentors. We have no issue with her style or difficulty level. Lots of teachers teach a certain style of difficulty level. We have no issue with her skills or beauty executing them. The issue is when you post videos claiming you are a ‘choreographer’ and we see the same moves and style so much that it becomes boring. Teach your class by all means. It IS a style. Of course. But posting choreography videos online that are just too alike all the time will justifiably warrant comments saying so. And it would be unfair to her to not push her to do more, which not only she can but the push could only make her a better choreographer. This is not a personal attCk ( from me) on HER. It’s actually a compliment to believe she’s got more to offer creatively. And I think this video is a good step forward. I was criticized often throughout my career as a performer. I listened. Criticism should always be constructive and never attack a person ( clothes, etc) but encourage them to create a better version of their talents always.
Alyss Kennedy exactly. As any performer knows, you can never get lazy or relax and think you’ve ‘made it’ so you don’t have to push yourself further. It’s the kiss of death in the arts. There’s always someone eager coming up right behind you, keeping on top of their game. Marissa is best served by honesty. She deserves that from her viewers and sometimes comments initially feel upsetting but push an artist to expand their limits.
