Can't get over how nice the yurt is. Your yurt is my future dream! Someday... Considering a move to WV soon, bringing my horses, chickens, dogs and cat.. get a jersey cow and a couple geese and a big old plot of land to build a home on..
Even though there's a lot to do, I love the fact that you and the family enjoy it. If I was your neighbor I would love to help out sometimes because its good therapy and you get exercise too. Reminds me of my younger days on my grandfather's farm handing tobacco and picking vegetables. Have a good and prosperous week you and the family and Micah is a little man he's growing up so fast.
Animals are smart. He knew there was a predator in the area and not to draw attention to himself. Scatteredness is real! I started this video, paused it, fed the dog, picked up towels off the line, loaded the washer, gave my boy his meds, made two pizzas, took a shower, and then finished watching. And it is only because of commenting on Bucky that I am reminded to check out your friend's channel. Phew!
Hi..... The Fit Farmer - Mike Dickson and Lacie nice to see you love watching your videos, thank you for showing your video homestead chicken Duck Goose farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐥🐐🏡🎥👍👍👍
Right now Lacie is trying the carnivore diet but she feeds her family well. She makes a lot of bone broth I know. She has been ferment veggies for quite a while and she dehyrates a lot. I'd like to see her cook too. Her kitchen is pretty small so I'm amazed how well she is able to cook there.
We had a hen that didn't lay eggs for a long time but when we fed the chickens sprouted grain we sprouted she started laying again . Check out the RUclips videos on it.
Look at Salah backing up to the hitch! She has become so accomished. That wouldn't happen if her parents hadn't given her the opportunity to learn and grow. Well done all of you! I love Bucky's mohawk. I'm milking many goats right now, breading season is coming. Starts mid July in my area.
Mike been watching you all for ever. Finally moved to Tennessee and have started my own homestead. 64 year old granny living on my own, but getting it done.
Many homesteaders now have high tunnels on their homestead. What are the advantages of a high tunnel? Also, I will be at the homesteaders conference in Hannibal, MO. I can't wait to meet all of the homestead families I watch online. 🤗❤
The advantage is that you can control the water supply so your crops don't get too much water and have the fruit split from uneven watering (like they do after a rain storm). Also you can extend your season because you can close in the ends and it retains more heat in the colder months.
Ha!.. we have a large water trough we mikvah in when we can't go down to the river. Easy because we can make flowing water by using the drain hole low on the side and a running water hose on the top.
Love that you are trying out the Jersey giants. I got 6 hens last year to help produce larger birds. They are good size now, and will help us get our food system up. On the food for animals thing...that's why I let certain areas get weedy/too tall grass, so that I can feed it when the animals can't be rotated. I also plant Russian Comfrey in various spots, because it is so useful. High protein feed, soil amendment, medicinal, etc. Also, you have quite a few trees available to you. Check into "tree fodder" or "tree hay". I'm just starting to learn about it, and it would give you an additional source of food. I do know my rabbits love poplar, and the chickens go bonkers for birch. Thanks for sharing all your doings.
Be nice to bunny. Do u guys accept visitors. I do have 2 grands 1&2. Trying to get them into gardening. Your children are an inspiration. Please thank them for me🥰🥰😍🙏🏽 GB your entire family. You and your wife is amazing 🙏🏽
@@MikeTheFitFarmer Well my dad is from SE Nebraska which has a hint of Missouri accent but I also have reason to believe my grandpa's family was Appalachian because they were Welsh and Methodist and my maiden name is very heavy in that area. I think he may have been from the dark Welsh who some genetic evidence points to originating from west of Egypt.
I like the name of Bucky! So you are expanding your herd. I can't wait to see the kids you'll have. Hazel is a Nubian goat right? It looks like Bucky is Nubian too? What type of goat is Hilda? Happy Father's Day Mike!
Those lettuce looked good enough to eat & your cucumbers just amazing. Those 2 white goats are just bullies & need to be put in their place- I hope Bucky does that. Great video. Cheers Denise Australia
Alex and his wife are sweet. Hope they can make a good go of it. That buckey, he is in a good place . I just wanna be one of your goats to get in on that beautiful lettuce.❤
Just thinking what will you do next year. Will you leave the gardens totally fallow or grow assorted cover crops that could be harvested for the critters.
Quick question about high tunnels - which direction did you line it up with respect to the prevailing winds? We have winds 25+mph winds quite often, usually blowing south to north but occasionally north to south. I want to put up a high tunnel but don't want it to blow away.
Bee stings are supposed to be good for Arthritis....I've often wondered?? What do you think Mike & Lacy??? Love watching you guys!! May y'all have continued Blessings..Much love💗💗💗💗💗I got to catch up I haven't been online much😉😍
I really have my heart set In a milk cow but I am getting more used to the idea of goats. Every time I’ve tried goat milk or goat Cheese i really did not enjoy it. But that was from a farm market and a grocery store.
Fresh goat milk tastes like cows milk but a little sweeter. As long as you separate the bucks from your girls you won't have stinky milk. I (Lacie) love using goat milk in my coffee.
@@MikeTheFitFarmer wow. Thanks for the answer. I hear that a lot about the taste but we don’t really want a buck. We don’t really have enough room for male and female. We thought we’d try to “borrow” a buck. Well. I Will revisit the goat sales on the internet.
That depends on the person! Lots of antioxidants... and suffer compounds etc... however someone like me with lupus has to watch i dont have to much or it can cause a flair... (I have to watch my nightshade consumption too...and absolutely no potatoes!)
I noticed the stock tank before you mentioned it, i guess because I've been wanting one for a pool. But without a filter and pump I'm worried it won't stay clean. What are your plans?
Your children are such amazing workers!!
Bucky has a good looking set on him! Git er done Bucky🤙
I’m so glad you got Bucky. He’ll have a really great home with you guys!❤️
Great video! Enjoyed!
Glad to see Bucky on the scene; he seems to be sweet tempered
Beautiful family working together--this is delightful to watch! 😊 Blessings to you!
Trellising the cucumbers was really a good idea! Who would have thunk it?

Some beautiful cuks... that duck looked like she was giving you the stink eye😆😆
Have a good evening 🌻🌻🌻
Oh how exciting to have new baby goats on the farm in due time of course ! 😉
Bucky is charming the ladies with his stories of his harrowing bear escape.
That would be awesome to baptize on the farm.

Omigosh can’t wait to have cucumbers. Love them.
O wow what an adventure for Bucky
Thumbs Up from the Dooley's of Michigan.
Now that’s a fine looking Bucky 💚🌱💚
Welcome Bucky!
Welcome to the family, Bucky. He is a nice looking goat. I know they all enjoyed the lettuce. Your cukes look great. 💞

Oh boy, you are busy!
Look at Lacy's excellent pruning job. Now, you can see the cukes :) Good idea, fresh tucker for the animals.
So glad he's safe
I've never seen tomato plants so productive! They're so cute! Well done! ☺️🌎❤️
Hi..... The Fit Farmer - Mike Dickson and Lacie nice to see you love watching your videos, thank you for showing your video homestead chicken Duck Goose farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐥🐐🏡🎥👍👍👍
I'm very glad Bucky is mellow. I've had some horribly aggressive bucks. Even if my 'guys' are gentle, you should never take them for granted!
Great story. Wow. 🥰
Love how you come out greetings friends
My buck is Bucky too! He is the sweetest guy! Honestly he is my favorite goat lol
Your son was chowing down! He was like "speak for yourself dad😋" 😄.
Poor bucky is scared of them ladies too
Lacey, do you ever show recipes from food from the garden? I would love to see what kind of meals you make. Thank you.

Install a drain spout on your watering trough that can attach to a hose so the water gets used more than once.
Cliff hanger here. Yay.
Thank you great job. Love happy endings.
Yurt looking good but front door could use a coat of paint to take your home a step up further. 👍
The girls are cranky on overcast days!❤️✝️🐝

You oldest boy looks like this must be a growing summer. Taller, thinner & always eating.
Dont know but this video is so clear
Congrats y'all on the new edition
I'm in for a week of high 90s and next week, 100s plus. YIKES

I just often wonder where you are from because some intonations you have sound just like my dad. You share some physical qualities too.
North Carolina

lucky bucky
Enjoyed the video fam..
I love goats

Your homestead might never smell the same with that big boy there, but babies will be worth it. We went from 4 to 17 goats in a few years
Just thinking what will you do next year. Will you leave the gardens totally fallow or grow assorted cover crops that could be harvested for the critters.
We are still thinking about what we will do but whatever we plant will be for nourishing the land.
Quick question about high tunnels - which direction did you line it up with respect to the prevailing winds? We have winds 25+mph winds quite often, usually blowing south to north but occasionally north to south. I want to put up a high tunnel but don't want it to blow away.
Mike is the goat whisperer. Lol
He’s very handsome. Going to have pretty babies.
That Nubian is missing his headgear...
One of his horns was growing into his head so they had to be removed.
@@MikeTheFitFarmer Yikes! Bummer...
what are the red clips you have on the elec. netting?

What is the round barn made of??
Poor Bucky, he was traumatized!
grow swiss chard. lush big plants far better than lettuce and lives thru the winter even in zone 6 Just keep picking the outer leaves.
We do! But this year we haven't.
Lacey looks exhausted! Not a criticism just a concern!
That is just my no makeup morning face. LOL I'm good. Thank you for your concern.
Just curious why are you keeping the dogs with the goats? Should they be guarding the chicken/ducks? Good video.
Have fun… maybe there will be some new babies..
I heard if you put sugar on cucumbers it taste like watermelon I haven't tried it yet
Cucumber lime juice- you won't be sorry :)
I really have my heart set

Okay Mike how about garlic is garlic good for you or is it bad for you or is it healthy

I guess do what people did before gardening fabric. Old way is always best when it comes to the earth.
he's asking any bears dude or I will get out. girls oh ya I'll go.
I noticed the stock tank before you mentioned it, i guess because I've been wanting one for a pool. But without a filter and pump I'm worried it won't stay clean. What are your plans?
Is there a reason why you grow cucumbers under a high tunnel? I thought that cukes like full sun.
They are in full sun but in the high tunnel we can control the water supply so they don't split if we are super dry and then get a downpour.
👍👍👌
Do you also eat lettuce?
Yes but not as much as we used to.
@@MikeTheFitFarmer i get it i used to eat red lettuce i must say yours looked great i am enjoying your videos and family learning also
Was that duck laying on eggs?
Yes she was.
@@MikeTheFitFarmer
Ah gotcha. Yes, I suspected
