    Hello@ Paul Naton.Sometimes multiple cells are held together by glue. I separate them by spraying a little bit of carburetor cleaner tween the cells, and in a moment they will slide apart, without distorting the cells. I believe it is a little safer to do.

    Battery connector is a JST, a good choice for a physical on/off connection between battery and receiver. 1S pack gets charged at a 1C rate, about .9 amps with a charger that has LiPo settings. Just about any charger does all of the battery types safely. Individual cells do not need balancing since they are now wired in parallel.

    You can take 2 3.7 cells and wire them is SERIES to make a 7.4 pack. If this new pack is used as a motor pack, you must also add a balance connector to insure the 2 cells stay balanced. If you wire 2 3.7s in parallel, then you keep the 3.7 voltage, but then get twice the capacity. Parallel wired cells will self balance.

    You could run all units on a 1S lipo as long as all components can run well in the voltage range, 3.7v to 4.1v. You must monitor your energy usage however, by discharging and recharging and noting milliamps in and out. Also some servos run better at lower voltages than others, and power consumption will vary. More capacity is always better and safer.

    Great tutorial, for splitting a battery I prefer wd 40 instead of heat gun.

    hello Paul Naton, i have a question, i have a drone syma 5 that works with a lipo battery 1cell 3.7 volts, 500 mAh, and also have a drone JJrc h8 that works with a 2 cell 7.4 500 mAh and those batteries has a balancer conector, can i repalce de 7.4 volt battery for 2 batteries 3.7 volts making a conector in serie? is the same than the stock 7.4 volt? does not affect if theres not have balancer conector? i will apreciate your answer, for me is more conveninete for price and time to chage use the 1 cell 3.7 volts batteries, thanks.

    Does anyone know if balance charging parallel lipo cells is needed? Is it even possible once soldered in?
    Do parallel lipo cells naturally discharge and charge evenly? I'd be concerned that one cell in a parallel pack would discharge or charge more than another just like in a series lipo battery.

      +RoboTekno If its a 1s pack then it doesnt matter how many packs you run in parallel as the charger will only charge to 4.2v.

    Hey sir... How about the 3.7v powering the rx... 4 servos and a telemetry vario? Is it duable? Or is it better to use 2s + bec?

    doe you know if needed what type of solder sticks for soldering on the aluminum

    • @pnaton
      @pnaton  6 лет назад

      If the tabs have no solder on them, you need to get a special flux for aluminum- you can use standard solder, but without the alum flux, the solder will not stick to the tabs. EBay or electronics stores have this flux.
