Michael Jackson had the same complaint about exploitative contracts. Most black artists do. Suddenly it's all about what Kanye said, nothing about the exploitation in the music industry.
Every major black artist has talked about that since the 90's from MJ to Mariah Carey etc. And yet it keeps happening. Doesn't matter how Ye or Ye would say. The contracts stay exploitative
I love the empathy and compassion displayed here. We need this more than the critical dog pilings we typically see in media. I also think Kaye is terrified right now.
This was an excellent conversation. You can't fight judgement with more judgement. Only with understanding. Understanding doesn't mean accepting, it just means you can understand and work to get passed and move away from the extreme views people can hold.
Yeah but to give someone like Kanye a massive audience where people can be influenced into believing what he says is another thing. Kanye is the type of person who loves the smell of his own shit. "Lex exposed his hurt and loneliness". That's a beautiful and simple way to summarize this whole thing. So saying Ye was having a manic episode is empathy for hurt people? These 4 are not doctors. As someone else you said you don't diagnose someone who you're watching on a podcast. I don't hear a bit of empathy here at all. At certain parts they're 100% talking bad about Kanye. Only a few people know what Kanye has gone through in his life the last few years yet everyone acts like they know or they dismiss him as being crazy. That isn't empathy. Also if you watch this full podcast they were calling Kanye racist towards black people. So much empathy bro.

This has got to be the most honest discussion or dissection about Kanye that's been aired. Alot of podcasts have people emotionally reacting or taking the moral high ground knowing where their allegiances lie.
People are getting exposed and I love it. I’ve said for a long time that lots of these people are racists. It’s very clear. Blacks are only allowed to say what the elites want them to say

These 4 missed the entire point of the interview, and managed to miss what Lex was trying to do which he got called out for at at the 1hour50minute mark which afterward, all he did was c u c k himself by placating Kanye and saying he loves him due to embarrassment. So the reality is you missed pretty much eberything including Lex's Modus Operandi as well as failed to interpret what was going on in front of you..... that is, if you even watched the interview and not a 5minute clip. No it's not. Schultz's masters asked him to jump and he said how high. Terrible outing by Lex in this interview, he got completely destroyed by Ye and showed Lex is a snake with his words
The saddest thing about the Kanye convo is that all the people around him are fine with the manic, when it benefits them (Balenciaga, Adidas, Musically, Kim in her projects and access to fashion, etc). The moment it's not in their favour anymore, they all switch up. Jay Z used to say that he is no different in private when "he's jumping up on tables during recording" but when he needs them most, they all disappear. I think Kanye is a validation and love seeker, and he's been burned so much with the relationships but also with the push back he almost always receives, especially from the culture, that someone will pick him up and he will gravitate to their cause because it looks like love, whether it's Jay Z, Tucker, Adidas, etc. And his manic will make them money and the moment he reaches sell by date, he'll be alone again. Jay Big Brother couldn't go to his wedding, when shit was going South, his friends took to the media to have him, etc. Not saying his perfect but I think he's open to any cause, as long as there's love there. Just so happens to be fake mostly
@@quentonb3394 Yep and the common thing is that he is always put down by "the culture" whenever he wants to do something new. That's weird to me. And even as a culture on the whole, the few times he's been championed is when he did some crazy things, "George Bush don't care about black people", "Beyonce had the best video of all time", which were manic episodes by and large but "benefitted" us. I'm not even mad about the Trump stuff, Trump put him in the white house and backed his wife's causes, Obama called him a jackass. Not saying it was unearned or anything, just saying that you watch someone get treated that way and then wonder why they would gravitate to the first people that seem to show him love and listen, whatever their intentions are. Lol Lex indefinitely proved in this entire interview the exact point Kanye was making. Lex claims Kanye isn’t man enough to admit that he’s wrong, being so completely blind to his own hypocrisy not realizing LEX is not man enough to admit that there is truth to what Kanye is saying and his attachment and identification he has to his religion blinds him from seeing objective truth. Kanye has an extremely valid opinion based off his experiences and has truly said what so many people on a smaller scale have been thinking for so long. The Jewish people thinking they’re above criticism and not being able to touch on them in any way that’s not positive in the media is not helping their case. Jewish people DO control the media. You can continue to be illogical and emotionally driven and deny this truth, or you can accept that our society has an extreme problem with accepting truth. Truth is not hate speech. Someone’s perspective is simply their perspective, it’s not wrong. Demanding Kanye to claim he’s wrong is disgusting hypocrisy from someone like Lex who claims to be for free speech and against censorship. My personal opinion which any logical person would find quite obvious in this interview, Lex reacted with nothing but emotion and brought no actual argument as to why what Kanye said was wrong. It’s literally a child like mindset to think if someone critiques your religion or people of your religion that they just hate you and your people. Lex literally claimed Kanye hates Jewish people and then is baffled when Kanye says he doesn’t trust him, I can’t with the lack of awareness 😂

People know it's true about certain Jewish tropes just like black people liking fried chicken or white people having white privelage or older Asians being bad drivers or Hispanics being hot headed sure some and most are stereotypes and tropes but there's truth in stereotypes, but when it comes to Jewish people and the abity that any stereotype or trope on them is anti semetic but for everyone else it's just normalized is outrageous why do they have this special privelage? the hypocrisy is wild. Example Just imagine if every laundry mat and major hotel was owned and controlled by let's say Jamaicans, all over the world not just the USA. Everybody knows it, everybody can see it bcuz Jamaicans look a certain way, everybody who works and tourist has to use them to clean there work clothes or stay in there hotels cuz there the best cuz they have the best laundromat compared to others and its better then doing it at home and then over generations the Jamaicans decide they want to increase hotel prices and put advertisement on ur Laundry receipt which makes them more money.. And let's say over generations they branch out to other industry's like buying up all the kfc's and turning them into jerk chicken joints, everybody won't like it but the Jamaicans want to stamp there heritage on the world but mostly America... So then bcuz of this control on these multiple major industry's the food industry and hospitality they are cemented in the community but country of origin and gain massive hold on prices and such... If someone speaking out that "damn the Jamaicans are trying to control the chicken industry or damn the Jamaicans control the hotel Industry, is it rascist? Bcuz there's no words to compare to anti semetic bcuz jews have completly taken the word over just like black people took the n word and reversed it into a good thing for themselves. Is the person factually wrong or being a rascist for saying the Jamaicans are controlling certain industry's? No its ludicrous its factual bcuz we can all see it, hear it and smell it. The manipulation of Jewish people of using the hallocaust to make any critisiscm of them as a people as anti semetic and canceling them to the point of career ending is wrong and truly one of the worst things humans have allowed as a species... Forget about what's happening to Kanye cuz I'm not even a fan of him, what they did to the white house journalist who had been a white house journalist to every president since johnson and killed her 50yr legacy and career bcuz she said ONE bad thing about Israel is disgusting. It's blackmail what the Jewish people are doing by killing careers if you criticize them and everyone knows it but won't speak it.

Also, the correct comparison would probably be if you were continuously mugged by said people.
@@DontDrinkthatstuff it matters to be specific. there are all kinds of pattern recognition mistakes you can make. For example, if you go to Chicago and get mugged by black people, you might recognize a pattern that doesn’t apply to Nigerian immigrants in another part of the country. They’re both black, and you’ve made a critical error of over generalizing. This will prevent you from behaving fairly and even in your own best interest. Or let’s say Jews are over represented in many professions, but that is including ones where people need to be conniving to succeed. You would wrongly extrapolate that Jews are conniving, but then how do you account for all the Jewish doctors and scientists. Again, your over generalizations would prevent you from acting fairly and in your own best interest. Pattern recognition is fine, even necessary. Generalizations are good too. Kanye has an extraordinary life mixed with bipolar and narcissism, the most important thing for someone with bipolar is trust and consistency in their relationships. Bipolar people often have trouble with trust. Just imagine how people act around him and how that affects his day to day life and plays off his illness.

We already see how the others have used him, we're just mad that he's being used by "the right" now. It's all just weird

Demanding Kanye to claim he’s wrong is disgusting hypocrisy from someone like Lex who claims to be for free speech and against censorship. Thank god Andrew understood, the Roast felt like it came from such a dumb place because everyone else had seen Ye's loneliness and fear and sadness but Andrew shat on him out of character. I'm glad he understood it from that interview. I wonder if he addresses how shitty it was Roast Kanye at that time (not that the jokes weren't decently prepped, just poorly timed)
Nope Schultz forgot he built a very right wing fan base. And now Kanye a right wing grifter all right wing media can’t say sht without repercussions
@@JayM- no. Stop reducing everything to left and right when it doesnt need to be. Ye is just blatantly being witch hunted for what is tantamount to nothing. He hasn't swayed public opinion on any issue. He hasn't organized any event that has led to violence. @TDVL Production ikr hahaha
Kanye's insecurities compel everything he says and does to a large degree. He's a wounded individual. It's very difficult to look at our wounded selves, it takes an immense amount of courage. It's much easier to survive if you believe you're victim than finding out you're the oppressor (especially to yourself). Victimhood is a kind of self-inflicted oppression.
When Ye was naming people months ago folks weren’t paying attention.
This.
Watta ridiculous argument. So if I get mugged by three black guys and the cops do nothing, I should go on TV and say that black people as a race are intrinsically evil?
You fill me with pity and disgust
@@Stumashedpotatoes Human beings notice patterns. It's what we do. If I continually get robbed by similar looking people, eventually I'll say something about it.
@@Stumashedpotatoes did he say Jewish people were intrinsically evil? He didn’t. As I said, he called out the individuals by name but nobody was listening. Have a seat and stfu. Anyone who continually uses their power to economically disenfranchise others should be called out. You are only a problem when you are problem. Otherwise, do you.
We are not concerned. Black people have their own problems in this country and worldwide. This is not subjective or hyperbole. It’s an actual fact.
But if you get them badly wrong, you stand to make serious mistakes.
Love this clip! Your reaction and Lex's interview are all on point!!
wait tlll my reaction on this reaction on lex's reaction drops!
This reminds me so much of how the media portrayed Malcolm X during the civil rights movement… The US was unkind to him but today he’s praised because everybody wants to be on the right side of history! Remove your emotions and use logic… I guess in 50 years Kanye will be praised because everybody again will want to be on the right of history… even more recently look at 2Pac when he was alive he was hated but after he died and people really started to listen to what he was saying he was applauded they even have classes at universities about him.. The only time people of color is right is after they dead and gone and can do nothing
Thank you for being understanding Andrew! Real one
Lex is the absolute master of the interview process because he allows for discourse without knee jerk. He let Kanye reveal his own addled hurt thoughts. He showed him to be the product if his own environment but a beautiful person none the less. Kanya means well but cant think straight.
When Andrew is talking about every one of ye’s relationships existing because people want to take from him, he looked reeeeal deep at those boys on the couch lmao

Accountability. Man can't blame everyone else around him.

Not only that, a culture of machismo, gangster rap and overt stereotypes about masculinity would be running cartoonishly rampant. Glad that didn't happen.
I think folks need to show Kanye some respect. He's contributed a lot to culture and how black men feel like they can express themselves and what things are dope to be interested in.

Drew-Shcul... I am a greater fan of yours now for your very mature & empathetic analysis of Lex & Ye's conversation. You'd be surprised how many people are lost a suffering right now that don't have Kanye's bread. I understand his narcissism is pretty abundant. I get it but, our human fragility is our common invisible thread that connects us all. We all feel alone or sad or defeated at times. When someone's life stress's manifest in hurtful comments or actions WE CAN NOT CUT THAT THREAD THAT CONNECTS US. Compounding that loneliness with cancel culture doesn't help. At all y'all. Nada.
What you do is grab that thread & drag that motherfucker to you and tell them they are not alone, they are loved, they are valuable and regardless of your mistakes you are redeemable.
And one day when you feel beaten, broken, emotionally exhausted and wanna wild out you will suddenly feel a massive tug in your heart and that will be someone pulling that thread to draw you closer to let you know it's all gonna be ok.
I really enjoyed y'all's take on that. Stay blessed kinfolks...

Honestly, I wish we could dismiss the Kanye aspect & just focus solely on the topics being brought up. Just because people don’t like the man doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be able to take from what he says and build upon it ourselves. Kanye has an extraordinary life mixed with bipolar and narcissism, the most important thing for someone with bipolar is trust and consistency in their relationships. Bipolar people often have trouble with trust. Just imagine how people act around him and how that affects his day to day life and plays off his illness. Given his celebrity and circumstances without meds this isn’t getting better.
Maybe look up the text his Jewish trainer send him and tell me his bipolar is the problem

Totally off subject but Andrew must be really making some money. I know since he started making Netflix money he got super into luxury watches. He is wearing the new Vacheron Constantine 222...At the VC dealer that watch is 70k..but you have to have a CRAZY buy rate for years before you can even get on the waiting list for the new 222. I think we don’t know much about mental illness. It’s easy for us to label something as bipolar, borderline, even crazy, because it makes us think that we understand better a person that is dealing with something that complex. Honestly I didn’t even like Je’s personality nor his opinions. But after all of this, he makes a lot of sense to me. Maybe he’s not a great communicator, but the message is very powerful. This guys are wondering what makes him so great at connecting and for me it’s an easy one. He speaks honestly and a lot of faith. He doesn’t mind sounding perfect or correct, he just wants people to know where he’s coming from.
I think Kanye is a brilliant communicator. Lex constantly impresses me with his ability to keep up with some of the smartest people in the world (his guests), yet Kanye out-witted and out-articulated him for 2 and half hours straight. I really question the bias people are listening to Kanye through if they think he isn't incredibly talented at getting his point across.

Kanye’s life is more akin to a Greek tragedy than the hero’s journey. A man of great success loses the thing most important to him-his mother- partially by his own hand, and the actions that follow frankly stain the rest of his life. It’s almost Romantic in how dramatic it is
