I bought the part from lexus using the part # 45254-28040. They told me it did not fit my car. But it does fit the ct200h and it does fix the issue. Thank you for making this video! 🎉😊
The process is explained but not shown in the video. I didn’t record it. Remove the bottom plastic cover below the knee air bag, loosen the bolts for the knee air bag, unclip the top leather piece above the steering wheel, and then there is a total of 3 bolts to drop the steering rack down and then you will have access to the electric motor which is held by 2 bolts, remove those and the motor will separate from the shaft and you will have access to this part. Be careful with all the wires, I didn’t unclip or unplug any wiring and was able to get to it, just clip off some of the zip ties. I explain it in the video.
Thanks for the great video. My question is whether it is possible to pull out the entire steering column for replacement by unscrewing only these three screws (without removing the dashboard ) if so I ask you very much to describe the various steps. Which screw is the most difficult to access and which wrench from which position is best to use in such a situation. Greetings and all the best
You are a hero. I'm in Australia and have registered a complaint with VCAT about a dealership that charged me A$1500 for intermediate steering column plus labour. Could have been fixed with the A$20 part in your video. They severely gouged me. Thanks for your efforts 👌
Hi friend, I don't have the same one.a big knock, especially when I drive through small holes and uneven roads, I hear tapping, today I was at the toyota dealer, they said they did not know what the problem was, I have a 2017 Toyota Avensis, I understood this is a problem for all Toyota, thanks for the video..I will try to repair it myself, I do not understand why the dealer does not know how to repair it..
У нас в Америке такая же проблема, не понимаю почему механики на автостоянках не могут эту работу сделать. Сразу рекомендуют менять всю рулевую колонну. Надеюсь это сработает на вашей машине.
@@женяженя-ь5э9ф no I did not. I didn’t think that was necessary. I didn’t remember, but I believe there is a plug connected to the electric steering motor, you can unplug that if need be. Otherwise I don’t really do anything with the electrical.
@denmyr4 You're going to laugh, I've been to three different garages and they speak differently.....I take it you have a knock on when the car is started,? if you turn off the knock, is there no knock?
See comments below. The part number is not from Lexus. It’s Toyota so Lexus will say it won’t fit but it does. Just order it online. My vehicle is 2013
#DenMyr " Have a 2011 Lexus RX 350 has the same issue! and is driving me Nuts! recently had the intermediate shaft replaced thinking that was the problem (however glad I did for it needed to also be replaced) but the Noice persists! please what is the technical part called so can order it! And on my vehicle removing the steering wheel? as opposed to just dropping it? is not really necessary, is it? just as to get access to the Motor itself and replace this part. please HELP! Am at my Wit's end.
Hey brotha i had a question i went to the dealer and gave them this part number but they said its not compatible with the lexus ct i have the same year a 2013 and just wanted to make sure this is the right part number
Don’t bother with the dealer. ASIN sells these which is what the dealer uses. Just buy it on amazon but the ASIN brand which is Japanese quality 45254-28040 Damper Electronic Power Steering Motor Shaft & Gear for Lexus ES350 RX350 RX450H UX250J for 13-18 Avalaon a.co/d/9txlyYh

I also faced the issue, the plastic wasn't broken, but changed it anyway, and it resolved annoying noise. Thanks!
Problem solved. Thank you!

@denmyr4 Hi, when you disassembled at home, did you turn off the general accumulator?? and the wires from the electric amplifier?
