  • ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?
Welcome back to Dramatically Expatic! It's been a long time sine I made a good old travel vlog - so here we are! I missed my Italian travels a lot :D Today I'm taking you to Mantua (Mantova in Italian) to explore this lovely city with its art, history, and amazing Italian food! Watch this video 'till the end to find out how Mantua is linked to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (and thus, to Verona), what to eat in Mantua, what to see in Mantua (how about adult images from the Renaissance? :D), and which famous TV series was filmed in Mantua (let's imagine we're visiting the set!). Don't forget to like, comment and share!

    ABOUT:
Hi! I’m Valeria and I’m an expat in Italy. I’ve moved here (almost) on a whim when my plans in Paris got ruined - without speaking the language and totally unprepared, but pretty sure this is gonna be an adventure of a lifetime! Moving to Italy has definitely had its ups and downs, but I love discovering Italian culture, Italian people and, of course, Italian food. Here I post regular travel vlogs, tips on expat life, moving to Italy, personal growth and self-esteem as an expat woman living abroad.

Thank you for being here and may you have a wonderful day!

    this is my city!!!
Actually i moved here 7 years ago but I chose to live here for the reasons that you mentioned in the video, Mantua is a city "a misura d'uomo", you have all the services of a provincial capital without the hassles of larger cities, it is a place steeped in history, full of public gardens and with an amazing walk along the lakefront, it is located in a strategic position to quickly reach cities such as Milan, Verona and Bologna.
The thing I love most about this city is that it is the ideal place for those who love walking or cycling, I simply love to wander around the city without a destination, get lost in the streets and alleys of the historic center, there is always something beautiful to discover.
Lastly, the "Literature Festival" takes place every year in Mantua, an event that lasts a few days known internationally and brings thousands of people to the city.

10-15 mins is the right length, I guess.
Palazzo Gonzaga is gorgeous; one of the best palaces in Italy, imho. So beautiful gardens and courtyards.
A so big palace inside a so small city.

Will film there the next time (I'd love to come back to Mantua anyway, because this city has so much to offer!)
Thank you so much for the input!

The use of space architecturally really shows off the medieval beauty. Similar to Volterra in a few places but whereas the compactness of Volterra makes the medieval architecture a little oppressive , the use of larger squares / piazzas here allows you to appreciate the medieval architectural symmetry more I think 🤔
