Ok, we just got back from this and we enjoyed it BUT we learned a few caviats. We went on a weekday because of our schedule and we wanted to avoid crowds. So, 1) some of the shows like the ice skating are not every day. I suspect they are only on weekends. It was closed when we were the. 2) the lanyard is not what if first appears. It says that it includes the drinks at Christmas town, but that is only half right. Literally. With the lanyard, you only get a smaller sample of the drink, not the full size you get if you pay cash. They don't sell a small and large size and you get the small with the lanyard. No, they only price and sell the large size for cash and you only get the small "sampler size" with the lanyard, which was not made clear when we shelled out almost $70 for the lanyard. So beware of that. Also, we wanted to get the hot chocolate with Kailua, but the lanyard only gets you the small size of hot chocolate and NOT the big size and NOT with the Kailua, which requires additional cash and can't even use a lanyard "item" to add the Kailua. They had a few mixed drinks, but the one we wanted was gone, so we were kinda pissed that we spend nearly $70 on a lanyard that got us pretty minor selection of food tasting and a MUCH more restricted drink options than it first appeared. So we went to get a refund where we bought it before even punching one item and they could not refund there and we had to go back to customer services who didn't have a manager there to approve the refund so they had to call one in to do it. Oh and they don't have any wine! Zero Nadia zip. So we enjoyed the trip, but with the closed shows on weekends and the lanyard being a huge rip off and a disappointment, I thought I should tell you so you don't make the same mistakes we did.
Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear this. I remember you saying that you were going to go on a Thursday. To be honest, we've only ever gone on the weekends because I'm working M-F, so those are usually the only days I'm able to go. We did get the lanyard too - but I'm allergic to alcohol, so I never came across that problem because I never tried to order an alcohol with it. I will definitely have to keep all of this in mind for the next time we do a lanyard and ask them about it at least. I didn't even think to ask as it's not something that I typically order. I'm so sorry! If I would have known this, I totally would have added that information in here... I had no idea. But, this is great feedback. I appreciate it! I'm definitely going to keep that in mind for future videos.
@@ChrissaTravels Thanks for your help and video, it did make a difference making our trip better. The Smokehouse was the winner of the afternoon! Loved the animals, feeding the kanaroos, riding the roller roller coasters and the general lushness of the park. I just wanted others to know about the shows not on weekdays and the lanyard restrictions. In our case we ended up getting our money back on the lanyard and just paying cash for a couple drinks and some cupcakes and calling it a night. We thought the food selection was very limited on the lanyard deal so we were happy we pigged out at the Smokehouse earlier in the day. Thanks for your videos. I think next year we plan to hit Sea World for Christmas time (or anyplace you may recommend for this time next year) Thanks for your overviews. They are very helpful. Oh, one more thing. We stayed at the Hampton Inn right next to the park. We got discount tickets from the hotel and they ran a shuttle to the park so you can save the $30 parking fee.
@@jointhejoiners unfortunately, I didn’t know during the taping of the video that the ice skating was only during the weekend. We only ever go on the weekend, so it was available to us. With the lanyard, I am allergic to alcohol, so I didn’t order any to notice that it is only a half sized portion that you get. Everything we ordered we showed and it didn’t seem like a smaller portion to me when I was filming. Since I can’t change a video once it’s up, it’ll all have to be things I mention during this years update.
