Usyk comes across to me as an incredibly strong character mentally. This is one of the things I noticed from the time he turned pro. He is gonna go on too achieve great hights in boxing.
Complete domination. Can’t believe how one sided it was. Could make an argument Usyk is pound for pound number one after what he’s done in the super series.
Anatoly Lomachenko was in Usyk´s corner in this fight and he prepared him secretly for this bout. He wore a black Usyk cap. You didn't notice him ? Come on ....
I would like to see Usyk batter Bellew for a decent payday, then test the water at Heavy , first up Bryant Jennings, then Chisora or Takam , see how he goes before tackling another smallish heavy like Povetkin . . . . then 2020 fight Joshua or Wilder
Congratulations Oleksander Uysk👊. Now he is the second ever Undisputed Cruserweight champion in the history of boxing. He is undefeated and did all this in less than 20 fights. On his way to becoming undisputed champion he beat all his opponents in their home country. He also won his first belt againts an undefeated and dangerous Glowachki in Poland. In this tournament he beat Huck in Germany, Breidis in Latvia and Gassiev in Russia. Breidis and Gassiev were both undefeated too. In my opinion Usyk is now the p4p number 1 best fighter in the World. I don't even see how Crawford could possibly be? Compare their resume. Crawford beat a very small Gamboa in a fight where he went life and death with him, then his next biggest victory is a very uninspiring victory againts Victor Postol. He beat Julios Indongo who as time has passed, has proven to be a very overrated boxer who overachived. I don't see how Jeff Horn and Indongo are better than Gassiev or Breidis? Usyk is easily the best in boxing now. If he moves up to heavyweight I can see Usyk having success againts certain fighters but also losing to some fighters you might not expect. I believe Uysk beats Wilder due to Wilder's lack of punch volume and his tendency to rely on one punch to change the fight. I believe Uysk is too good to avoid single power punches from Wilder. I believe Joshua is a tough fight for Usyk due to Joshua's size and technique but Joshua hasn't got the best ability to cut the ring off and struggles with movement so if Usyk can avoid Joshua for 12 rounds I can see him beating Joshua too. It'd be big if tho. Guys I see giving Usyk the most problems are Joe Joyce, if you watch their amateur fight, Joyce got outclassed yes but it was a 5 round fight and Joyce put a ferocious pace on Usyk and by the end of the fight Uysk looked happier that the fight was over. I believe if they meet in the pros and it's a 12 round fight, it could get very interesting. Another fighter I believe would give Usyk problems is Jarrel Miller. I believe he is just too big for Usyk and i don't think Miller would be intimated by Usyk's punching power and just walk him down and make Usyk punch himself out, clinch him and lean on him. Other than that Fury would be tough for Usyk due to Fury's size and style but Fury right now is not in a good enough shape to be in the conversation. Parker would be interesting too due to his handspeed and athleticism but I would favour Usyk in that one.
Devon, interesting about Joyce something to think about, but certain Usyk would beat Miller. Usyk can punch if he chooses to set his feet. Thought he could have knocked out Gassiev in the latter rounds tonight if that was his objective.
Another thing I noticed in this fight, for the first time, is how clueless Abel Sanchez was to help Gassiev. Every round Gassiev would come back to be told “Do you want me to stop it? You got to show me something. Let your hands go. You got to knock him out” bot really anything special that a fan can’t shout from the side lines.
i agree, well said. Gassiev got really frustrated with Abel i felt, he wanted to win badly, but he recieved no help in his corner whatsoever. He still showed tons of heart getting battered for 12 rounds and he didn't even come close to giving up. A true champion!
lomachenko usyk and aj are miles ahead of everyone in boxing right now with the level of competition they have faced in such short fights they fight world class fighter's back to back their is no one else in boxing like those 3 right now
Usyk's stamina was tremendous, man. He was throwing like 70 punches per round in the last 3 rounds of the fight, he may have thrown upwards of 600 punches total... Most wouldn't be able to throw as many punches hitting the heavybag...
Gassiev just couldn't find an answer to Usyk's style. Usyk's side-stepping, volume and movement prevented Gassiev from mounting a sustained offense. There are clear similarities between Usyk and Loma, though I would say Usyk can punch (at CW) if he wants to, whereas Loma is feather feasted. Also, Usyk has longer arms in proportion to his height, allowing him to be more effective at long range. Loma on the other hand, is probably better defensively. I too would like to see a Braidis rematch, or a Bellew fight. If neither of these happen, Usyk should move up to HW. While I think the size difference would prove too much against an Anthony Joshua for example, I do believe Usyk will pose problems to everyone, and would handily beat most contenders. Gassiev can learn from this. He should analyze this fight and the Lebedev fight. Guys who force him to move make him look a bit robotic. He's only 24, so there's plenty of time to work on this, and with Usyk moving up, he may soon get another crack at unifying.
@shola ebofin its the same as with Lomachenko wins. Their opponents are overwhelmed, outclassed and frustrated by mid rounds. Loma & now Usyk break their opponents mentally down by mid rounds and then the fight is basically over.
Great video! The reason Usyk acted strange with his feet was because the ring was slippery. During the undercard there were several slips. I would love to see a rematch with Briedis! I had the first fight between them 114-114, and it could’ve gone either way, in my opinion. Based on the semi finals, Usyk-Briedis and Gassiev-Dorticos, I actually favoured Gassiev going in to this fight, but boy was I wrong. I though Gassiev showed great patience and impressive strategic ability against the Cuban. It’s really remarkable that Usyk was able to put on such a dominant performance at this level, the very highest in the division. I knew Usyk was good, but with this fight he really elevated himself to another level! It was a true masterclass of boxing. On a side note, I thought Abel Sanchez was terrible in Gassievs corner! He didn’t give him any advice or strategic analyses of what was happening, didn’t motivate him. All he said was ”throw more punches”. Gassiev would have needed to fight with a bit of rough house tactics from the very start. It seems, which is really baffling at this level, that Sanches and Gassiev didn’t have a strategy. Gassiev would have needed a motivational speech by Teddy Atlas, or perhaps recordings of his Best of... ”We are firemen...” or ”Do you believe in magic...”
Usyk at the post fight presser : " I really want that Anatoly Lomachenko will be my permanent head trainer. We are privately close friends almost like relatives"
What a performance, usyk made gassiev have to reset constantly with his movement which made gass have to overcommit and lunge with his shots, and have no base to let his full power off. Completely put him in a shell as well late in the fight with his combinations following his tattoo gun-like jab. Incredible. I wonder if a Usyk-Bellew fight will happen next or a move to HW.
i think it might confuse usuk tbh, wilder windmills will work neatly vs usyk because he has 5 inches in reach, 5 in height. i don't see usyk outboxing wilder until the 12th round, no way, he will get caught.
ScarzChosenspokesmen I agree but that doesn’t change how I feel about this.Wilder is like playing Russian roulette,it’s just a case of how may empty chambers there are.
Gassiev was totally frustrated after Round 6. He went to the corner and said furiously in Russian "I can't adjust to him". From this point on it was clear that Usyk wins it easy.
yea true, he was totally unprepared for usyks style and mvmnt. i dunno what they trained in camp but it looks like they didnt get him any good movers for sparing as he was completely clueless..on that display he is much worse than briedis who fought much better vs usyk
This was a great display and Usyk is undoubtedly an outstanding fighter. I thought he might possibly even stop Gassieve late, but anyway this was a top effort. I don't t know if he would go too far at heavyweight, not really got the size or power to fend off the big boys. As for TB, well, Usyk is absolutely rock hard and at the very top of his game, a bridge too far for Tony.....
Usyk's done at cruiserweight. There's nothing left for him to do there. Only way is going up to heavyweight and trying his luck. I'm interested how the added weight will affect him, but honestly he doesn't need to add that much and there's a question if he actually can and still keeping his style and volume. I guess only time will tell, fighting Bellend at heavy is definitely a decent first fight. I was impressed, this Usyk vs prime Holyfield - NOW THAT WOULD BE A FIGHT!
I'd like to see an undisputed champion to reign for at least a short while and defend a couple of times before moving up and the belts being distributed all over the place again so soon. If Bellew came down, that's one fight. And then maybe the winner of Breidis v Shumenov perhaps (so, a Usyk v Breidis rematch with Breidis being the WBA regular champion, for what that's worth). Then move up to fight real HW's.
I never heard of a fighter who went up to HW, failed and came back down and had a great career at CW (although granted, the division hasn't existed very long). Anyway, what's the rush. One more year (two fights), as outright king of the CW division for the history books and then at 32 move up and have a good 3-5yrs at HW. That could be up to 10 fights and plenty of big pay days even if he requires 3-4 fights to acclimatise.
I'd love to see Usyk against Wilder, the weight difference wouldn't been massive. The current state of play in boxing means that Bellow vs Usyk might be more economically viable which is crazy from the purist perspective but TB and Hearn have done a good promotional job on him. I love TB as a fighter and personality but I think he takes a pasting against Usyk.
Wilder had to put water in his shoes and have his trousers on to make 214 weight vs ortiz..i bet he was 206 or something in that fight, he can easily make weight for cw
Amazing event had that massive fighf feel and that performance was superb even paid on ps4 and glad i did All those belts the romg magazing millions in the bank and the Ali trophy what a night.
Again. I was WRONG a butt this one, but not surprisingly so. Usyk. Fit as a butcher's dog mate! Just too much of EVERYTHING for Gassiev who landed some good shots, but just couldn't put hands or out think and maneuver this Pugilist Specialist. In the end, it was almost as though Murat was fighting Ali in there. A mile behind in everything. Was like watching Wil. E. Coyote trying to catch Road Runner. An excellent BOXING match. And a new Undisputed King @ Cruiser 🥊👑
Jamie Bushby where did I not give Usyk credit you Knob? I’m simply stating the truth. Can you say with a straight face that Gassiev is a better fighter at the moment then Breidis?? I said this before the fight. Breidis gave usyk his toughest test. Gassiev is inexperienced and Lacks a plan B. Usyk was thoroughly impressive in victory and deserves a top 5 p4p ranking. That being said I’m not at all suprised that he won the way he did.
Only a few minutes into the video, so you might cover it, but Ukyk reminds me a little of (later career) Joe Calzaghe; good footwork and rapid patting punches, but no real power. He’s right for financial reasons to go after Bellew next as he suggested in the post-fight interview (surely at CW as it’d be worth more money), but if he moves up to heavyweight after I think he might have problems.
Reach is very important in boxing and if you lack significant reach then like Tyson you need to find a way inside and use power. Usyk gives away reach, height, weight and power to the top 3 in the heavyweight division. If Usyk decides to bulk up and add weight and power to his game then he will lose speed and stamina which are his main attributes to getting the wins. Even with Usyk adding weight and power he will still not have comparable power to the top 3 at heavyweight and will not be able to keep them from walking him down. And he still can not do anything about the reach issue. By the way my top 3 is Joshua, Wilder and a Fury that is back to his best if possible.
That doesn’t mean he won’t get beaten by much bigger men. There are many boxers who were much better than their opponents but the difference in size was too much to overcome. I don’t think Usyk power is enough to trouble the big guys and he maybe very evasive but if his power is not enough they will rush him walking through his shots to land their bombs. The two times Joshua had Klitschko in trouble was when he decided to rush him and not allow Klitschko to hold and Joshua let his combinations go. Klitschko a man the same height and similar build to Joshua could not keep him off him. Klitschko was winning the boxing match if you score the rounds fairly but that didn’t mean anything when the pressure was put on him.
Im not sure about usyk at heavy btw, light volume puncher, likes being the guy with the longer reach, the guy who holds outside the other guys pocket... if he gives up reach and height on top of weight and power advantages can he do his thing? I dunno man, does he have a small man inside fighting game against these 6'6, 240lbs monsters?
yeah the heavy weights arnt what they used to be. He beat joe joyce, Ive not seen the junior fa fight, its a fair comment. Thing is amateurs is a bit more score based, not quite as brutal right? Joe joyce is a slow guy, were talking joyce 5 years ago, I dunno if joyce can hang with top 10 elite level guys at heavyweight. I dont doubt usyk can win fights at heavy, but can he really win belts? 5 rounders against a rly plodding guy like joyce, sure, but 12 rounds against top 10 guys? Its a fair comment, maybe he can, Im sceptical but maybe he does have the skills and the speed to play around them. time will tell.
Usyk is undisputed by having all four belts but he's also Ring belt and Lineal champion too. Fantastic. In the HW division, the winner of AJ v Wilder would be officially 'undisputed' but still have the fly in the ointment to deal with (Fury the Lineal champion), in order to complete their collection. Too many belts, bodies and titles.
gassiev was landing some solid left hooks early, upstairs and downstairs. Then round 3 I felt like usyk got into the mode and just started pulling miles ahead, beating him to the punch non stop, staying just outside gassievs pocket and peppering him. By round 6 I felt like the snap had just gone from gassievs punches and usyk was powering up... easy work tbh.
Good point about Briedis!! he definitely got more rounds against Usyk. Did you watch his fight today? it was quite poor. he couldn't get the 5'9" fat boy out of there.. went all 12 rounds, landed everything on him too... didn't even hurt the fatty.
What a fighter- I first saw him against joe Joyce and his movement was unreal for a Cruiserweight - I like the bellew fight but I think More interesting option would be for Wilder to come down to cruiserweight ,only a handful of pounds that would be really interesting- He will definitely be one of the most awarding heavyweight that’s for sure The man’s got skills but in the power steaks think he would be found wanting - i’ll be watching with interest that’s for sure
james burrell friends yes but Usyk had a different coach as Lomachenko wanted to train only his son so they’ve split up in sense that Usyk had a different coach until recently
Great fight but it was so one sided, Gassiev is world class make no mistake but Usyk is simply on another level. Would love to see him move to heavy, he has the ability to outbox a large portion of the division and keeping those jabs and punches up for 12 rounds he could be very successful at that weight.
Bullet 285 Exactly. Not only did Bellew demonstrate psychological resistance - arguably Haye would appear more 'dangerous' than USYK. - But Bellew showed he can stick to and execute a game-plan - and close a fight. USYK would be twinkle toed and frustrating for as long as any fight lasted, but I reckon Bellew's experience and doggedness would get him where he needed to go. - which may well translate to a knockout.
Gassiev should of used his lead hand to fence usyks lead hand which would of parried most of usyks jabs, this is how Marius Bredis neutralized the Usyk jab. Gassiev looked poor in there, Usyk made him look poor but i do think with the right game plan the fight could of been more competitive... gassiev could of at least won a couple of rounds, the fight was so one sided it was boring... get rid of Abel Sanchez, he doesn't train movement, he doesn't back foot boxing and to be honest I don't even think he teaches his fighters defences.
Great performance by Usyk. He displayed great technique and clever subtle movement to make sure Gassiev couldn't get set to throw. I agree he is a special talent and would trouble the top heavyweights too. But was anybody else very surprised by his work rate? Even in the later rounds after taking heavy body shots?
Mathew Wall He would be busy and his movement would trouble a lot of heavyweights but he hasn't got the power or the reach to trouble the top heavyweights.
he should test himself against big baby miller or d. whyte to see where he is at. he may have a 20% shot against wilder or aj. im not sure how he would handle a wilder punch.
Wanted and thought Gassiev would win this one but man was I wrong. Controlled it from start to finish and he made a very dangerous fighter in Gassiev look average. Fair play to usyk I thought he was slightly overrated but he’s anything but. Well and truly on the hype train now. Gassiev is young and can come again
Bellew at heavyweight, then dimitrenko to knock over a big lump then take on 1 of the big 3 of Joshua fury wilder, I think this could be a very viable plan to raise his profile further in the uk and add a bit of dazzle with a flashy ko of a big lump
he wasn't good enough yes and that disappointed me, but his performance disappointed me more, he could have shown more movement more angles, but he plodded around like a walking punch bag
@martin sawh I think it will be at Cruiserweight and nice payday for both in the UK. Should Usyk win then even casuals in the UK will know him after the fight. So a future Joshua vs Usyk fight would be very easy to sell.
Got be heavyweight for usyk next , bellew at goodisin park or Wembley stadium as undercard to Joshua would be sweet also . Very impressive skill set and I'm intrigued to see how he approaches fights against wilder , Joshua and Tyson fury , ad love see usyk vs povetkin aswel , a remember watching huck vs povetkin and ad expect POV , usyk to be equally entertaining
I believe Usyk would win, but it is a realistic fight. Hearns POV, decent pay day for bellew and would build any future heavyweight fight with whyte, AJ even a Chisora anyone else. It's a 65/35 sky ppv fight in Usyk favour against bellew. Not sure theirs much else for Bellew
Great assessment Hatman 👍 Congrats to Usyk. Great tournament WBSS promoting Cruiserweight division. Bad luck Gassiev. Like to see him fight Mairis Briedis + Hunter & Usyk face Dorticos + Lebedev. Usyk vs Bellew would be good. I'd have Usyk winning. 👍
I think he should stay at cruiserweight! Maybe an odd money fight at heavyweight! I know he could go up to heavyweight! But he's shown in this tournament, that although he can box the pants of all cruiserweight s and most heavyweights, he doesn't have k.o. power!! I think he would get k.o.d by the top heavyweights! But this is food for thought?....could he do a Roy jones jr on Wilder! He struggled with Ortiz and Usyk southpaw like him! And quicker younger???? Aj would walk through him! Not enough power to keep him honest! But wilder can't really box!! So if he didn't get k.o.d, he could definitely run around him and get points decision!!🤔😉👍
Jesus!! Haven't seen a schooling like that since Calzaghe vs Lacy!! But I'm a big fan of Gassiev and tho I picked Usyk (who's also my favourite boxer) I hope Gassiev can learn from this and improve and I agree his footwork was atrocious but I think it was amplified by desperation and panic, shame but I hope he comes back better and stronger
Called this two years ago- he’s too classy not to have cleaned up the division. Usyk potentially the number one across the years and would have done Thompson in three rounds, much as I loved watching Haye.
Just to be precise : Usyk hired Anatoly Lomachenko and he split with his former trainer at the Lomachenko vs Linares fight. Because after this fight Loma´s father had enough time to prepare Usyk for this fight.
Ignore this PunchQuote guy. There is a chance he beats both AJ and Wilder. He'd only beat them on points though. It's a smallish chance but actually more of a chance than most people think.
Usyk vs Kudryashov is a fight I would really like to see. Kudryashov is arguably the 2nd hardest puncher in boxing behind Wilder. His weakness is having a weak chin but I feel that it wouldn't be exploited against Usyk because Usyk lacks in knockout power. If Kudryashov lands the same punch that Gassiev landed clean on Usyk that stunned him, he knocks Usyk out or at least knocks him down.
Kudryashov looked pretty much even with Dorticos foot speed wise before he got caught...and Dorticos looked to be the better mover when he fought Gassiev, it was Dorticos' lack of a solid jab which lost him that fight rather than his foot speed...so I would say Kudryashov's feet are just as good as Gassiev's.
I get what Hatman is saying with the Holyfield comparison, but first Cruiserweight as a division doesn’t have all time great champions. So being the second best cruiserweight of all time is kind of meaningless. Secondly, Holyfield went on to be heavyweight champ, that makes him much greater than Usyk.
If we are talking at CW (and Hatman is specifically talking about CW), then Usyk's resume is up there with the best of them, and that's not even considering the very few fights he has had to build it up to this level. Sure, the CW division is new, but that doesn't mean its history cannot be written. Moreover, the CW right now is witnessing a golden age. Excluding Usyk, it has Briedis, Glovacki, Gassiev, Dorticos, Mchunu, Bellew and a few top fighters who are past their best but still viable as contenders (Lebedev, Huck). Usyk has arguably beaten the best guys on this list. Of course, if we talk about greatness/ATG then Usyk still has some way to go. But at CW there is little left for him to prove.
This dude will get washed against decent opposition. Gassiev didn't want it. That powder puff mess Usyk was using was BORING AS HELL. Had a heavy bag in front of him and he was tapping on it. Were his hands hurt
@@heroofbyzantium8927 Do I ever. Dude is good Joshua has never impressed me. Usyk should've knocked him out and will in the rematch but I'm still unimpressed. I think he beats Fury too.
I picked Murat but Usyk just didn't let Gassiev get set he peppered him, no power shots from Usyk but just moved n picked his shots, very disappointed in Murat he didn't let his hands go but I guess Usyk didn't let him maybe
A good performance by Usyk. A lot of skills there to worry a lot of the flat footed heavyweights. I don’t think Usyk has the best chin, it is hard to tell because he doesn’t get caught much. But i believe no matter how much you dominate a guy, if you back your chin you will step on the gas, plant your feet and try to get your guy out of there. UNLESS you have something to fear coming back at you. And the only thing I can think of is that Usyks chin is not great. I thought Briedis won the previous fight.
EMANeleVenElevEn you mean he beat a washed up Haye who clearly should have stayed retired? He gets thoroughly outclassed by Usyk anyone who's not biased knows this.
Jed Daniels We will never know, because Wilder doesn’t fight anyone with a pulse. He ducked Ortiz for years and fought him when he got too old 47 yrs old.
Usyk to fight Bellew, Lenedev and then move to heavyweight. Or even just Bellew and then up. Gassiev to fight Mairis Briedis once Usyk goes to heavy for the titles
Usyk comes across to me as an incredibly strong character mentally. This is one of the things I noticed from the time he turned pro. He is gonna go on too achieve great hights in boxing.
The bigger the challenge the stronger he gets. He is also now used to fight in the opponent´s backyard fight after fight. A real World Champion !
Complete domination. Can’t believe how one sided it was. Could make an argument Usyk is pound for pound number one after what he’s done in the super series.

Devon Sinclair Holyfield was Undisputed Champion in the 80’s
TRAP SOUL youre fight I forgot about Holyfield lol. I just changed my comment. Thanks 😂
Devon Sinclair Uysyk is the first man to hold all four belts though. There were only three when Holyfield won them.
Devon, interesting about Joyce something to think about, but certain Usyk would beat Miller. Usyk can punch if he chooses to set his feet. Thought he could have knocked out Gassiev in the latter rounds tonight if that was his objective.

Jamie Bushby canelo
Jeremy let's just pretend you never said that OK
I see that all four 4 belts are now around the waist of just one man!😂😂
Usyk's work rate was insane. A great display from a truly great fighter. I hope he defends his titles at least once before moving to heavyweight.
SLAVA UKRAINI Big thanks to Anatoly Lomachenko who made this possible.
Usyk's stamina was tremendous, man. He was throwing like 70 punches per round in the last 3 rounds of the fight, he may have thrown upwards of 600 punches total... Most wouldn't be able to throw as many punches hitting the heavybag...
Fucking hell. Well, that's the type of workrate he's gonna need to compete with the top heavyweights. Hell, let's see if he can do even more. Why not?
Gassiev just couldn't find an answer to Usyk's style. Usyk's side-stepping, volume and movement prevented Gassiev from mounting a sustained offense. Uslk vs Wilder at Heavyweight next let's see that
James carter I don't think wilder cud land a glove on him.if usyk had power wow.
Wilder would be throwing punches at fresh air
Usyk is P4P 1
Gassiev was just waiting for that one punch to make Usyk unravel but it never came with enough time left in the round.
It looks like USYK is gonna be heading to the heavy weight division. can't wait.
Gassiev paid way too much respect didn't show enough passion or conviction another routine win for usyk whose skills will always pay the bills..
@shola ebofin its the same as with Lomachenko wins. Their opponents are overwhelmed, outclassed and frustrated by mid rounds. Loma & now Usyk break their opponents mentally down by mid rounds and then the fight is basically over.
Andrij S been a massive fan of loma since London 2012 gotta give credit to loma father guy's a genius..
Gold medal, elite resume, stepped up his opposition quickly, became undisputed, what can you ask more from Usyk ? Waiting for him to school Whyte lol
T.M.T similar to AJ
it's a shame people don't put him up there In p4p rankings.
Usyk at the post fight presser : " I really want that Anatoly Lomachenko will be my permanent head trainer. We are privately close friends almost like relatives"
@Andrij, i'm confused.. I thought he got rid of Anatoly, or was it just for this fight ?
Ok thanks
What a performance, usyk made gassiev have to reset constantly with his movement which made gass have to overcommit and lunge with his shots, and have no base to let his full power off. Completely put him in a shell as well late in the fight with his combinations following his tattoo gun-like jab. Incredible.
I wonder if a Usyk-Bellew fight will happen next or a move to HW.
Anatoliy Lomachenko (the dad) was actually in Usyk's corner during this fight giving him the instructions
Beautiful Boxing displayed by Usyk,he would be a problem against any fighter....including heavyweights.
brundle20 he'd box the ears off most heavyweights. I'm interested to see him move up.
Wilders technical deficiencies would see him tortured and humiliated if usyk steps up
agreed
i think it might confuse usuk tbh, wilder windmills will work neatly vs usyk because he has 5 inches in reach, 5 in height. i don't see usyk outboxing wilder until the 12th round, no way, he will get caught.
100%😉👍
Usyk wouldnt survive a single hook from Wilder.
I don't rate Wilder as a boxer at all but he punches like the grim reaper
@Farik Islam Sanchez saw Loma´s father in Usyk´ corner and this made him nervous.
Then move up to fight real HW's.
a decade? he is 31
I never heard of a fighter who went up to HW, failed and came back down and had a great career at CW (although granted, the division hasn't existed very long). Anyway, what's the rush. One more year (two fights), as outright king of the CW division for the history books and then at 32 move up and have a good 3-5yrs at HW. That could be up to 10 fights and plenty of big pay days even if he requires 3-4 fights to acclimatise.
Excellent performance by Usyk
I'd love to see Usyk against Wilder, the weight difference wouldn't been massive. The current state of play in boxing means that Bellow vs Usyk might be more economically viable which is crazy from the purist perspective but TB and Hearn have done a good promotional job on him. I love TB as a fighter and personality but I think he takes a pasting against Usyk.
You are in luck...Wilder has spoken about becoming the undisputed champ at cruiser.usyk vs Wilder would be a magnificent fight, popular one too.
Why not Wilder drop to Cruiserweight ?
Wilder had to put water in his shoes and have his trousers on to make 214 weight vs ortiz..i bet he was 206 or something in that fight, he can easily make weight for cw
Bud Usyk Loma top 3 p4p
Difficult to argue against that
Connah Daquan exactly my sentiments bro
I know Bud doesn't have the best Resume but it's hard to argue against Loma, Usyk, and Bud top 3 P4P. (Random order)
Usyk looked great, If he can't get a Bellew fight, I'd like to see him fight a homecoming fight in the Ukraine.
Tony Bellew is currently in that cave in Thailand they got the kids from
Amazing event had that massive fighf feel and that performance was superb even paid on ps4 and glad i did All those belts the romg magazing millions in the bank and the Ali trophy what a night.
Very sound analysis. As for bellew fighting usek, if he’s got any sense he should avoid that like the plague
hatman moving up 40 thou geees
Breidis was the second best fighter in this tournament. Gassiev is still green. Just 24.
itsthehouse! it was obvious you wasn't gonna give any credit lol I wonder why
Jamie Bushby you guys always got something negative to say lol. Usyk is one of my favorite fighters. What exactly are you talking about
Only a few minutes into the video, so you might cover it, but Ukyk reminds me a little of (later career) Joe Calzaghe; good footwork and rapid patting punches, but no real power. He’s right for financial reasons to go after Bellew next as he suggested in the post-fight interview (surely at CW as it’d be worth more money), but if he moves up to heavyweight after I think he might have problems.
He was outstanding made gassiev look average
Reach is very important in boxing and if you lack significant reach then like Tyson you need to find a way inside and use power. Usyk gives away reach, height, weight and power to the top 3 in the heavyweight division. If Usyk decides to bulk up and add weight and power to his game then he will lose speed and stamina which are his main attributes to getting the wins. Even with Usyk adding weight and power he will still not have comparable power to the top 3 at heavyweight and will not be able to keep them from walking him down. And he still can not do anything about the reach issue. By the way my top 3 is Joshua, Wilder and a Fury that is back to his best if possible.
usyk is the better boxer tho
I dunno man, does he have a small man inside fighting game against these 6'6, 240lbs monsters?
necaacen He has beaten some big heavies like Joe Joyce and Junior Fa in the amateurs.
my sentiments exactly.
yeah the heavy weights arnt what they used to be.
He will demolish bellew
Master class performance by Usyk. Pound for pound #1. 👏🏾👏🏼👏🏾👏🏼
Off topic but this video made me realise I'm 31 not 30..
Jaden ouch
Sorry man
Jaden wow so your nearly 32 you old bastard ( said the 43 yr old )
Easy work, top 3 p4p and easily the most talented big man in the sport.
That was the definition of a Boxing masters class finesse
Usyk is undisputed by having all four belts but he's also Ring belt and Lineal champion too. Fantastic. In the HW division, the winner of AJ v Wilder would be officially 'undisputed' but still have the fly in the ointment to deal with (Fury the Lineal champion), in order to complete their collection. Too many belts, bodies and titles.
trevhib ~
gassiev was landing some solid left hooks early, upstairs and downstairs. Then round 3 I felt like usyk got into the mode and just started pulling miles ahead, beating him to the punch non stop, staying just outside gassievs pocket and peppering him. By round 6 I felt like the snap had just gone from gassievs punches and usyk was powering up... easy work tbh.
I want to see him end Bellew
anUntouchable I like Bellew. I would want him to win.
Good point about Briedis!! he definitely got more rounds against Usyk. Did you watch his fight today? it was quite poor. he couldn't get the 5'9" fat boy out of there.. went all 12 rounds, landed everything on him too... didn't even hurt the fatty.
The Wedge I thought Briedis bossed that fight. The other guy had a decent chin. And being fat has nothing to do with it, conditioning is everything.
@Dodge172 he looks now more polished in comparison to the WSB days and his movement is fluid now.
Did you not see Lomachenko in Usyk Corner? Usyk was trained by Anatoly Lomachenko for this fight
james burrell they had split since moving in to pro boxing and have just reunited
james burrell friends yes but Usyk had a different coach as Lomachenko wanted to train only his son so they’ve split up in sense that Usyk had a different coach until recently
Great fight but it was so one sided, Gassiev is world class make no mistake but Usyk is simply on another level.
Would love to see him move to heavy, he has the ability to outbox a large portion of the division and keeping those jabs and punches up for 12 rounds he could be very successful at that weight.
Tony Bellew has overcame the odds twice before, he can do it again.
That you posting Tony?
Against a crippled man
No, he didn't. No, he can't.
Usyk beats femi
7th Dragon who's femi
Brendan Cronin AJ
BigNate Thompson where does femi come from
Brendan Cronin anthony oluwafemi olaseni joshua
Alisteroide Testostereem ah OK thank you
I fell asleep, I can’t believe I’ve just missed this fight🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Great video Hatman. Who's the genius n brain that remembered you the trainer's name at the background?
Gassiev should of used his lead hand to fence usyks lead hand which would of parried most of usyks jabs, this is how Marius Bredis neutralized the Usyk jab. Gassiev looked poor in there, Usyk made him look poor but i do think with the right game plan the fight could of been more competitive... gassiev could of at least won a couple of rounds, the fight was so one sided it was boring... get rid of Abel Sanchez, he doesn't train movement, he doesn't back foot boxing and to be honest I don't even think he teaches his fighters defences.
another fighter that has done more than Wilder who was been a pro fo 10 years
Great performance by Usyk.
You sir have been found wanting! ..Yep!
"Spamming the jab button" ahahaha.
Was like Tekken II up in there.
Dexterity...good word there chief !
i think usyk smashes everyone at cruiserweight. he should move up and challenge himself.
Honda Game How do you think he would do at heavyweight?
Badly, pitter patter punches would get walked through.
he should test himself against big baby miller or d. whyte to see where he is at. he may have a 20% shot against wilder or aj. im not sure how he would handle a wilder punch.
Can't wait to see the tartan tornado is the next tourney!👍great format for boxing.
Bellew at heavyweight, then dimitrenko to knock over a big lump then take on 1 of the big 3 of Joshua fury wilder, I think this could be a very viable plan to raise his profile further in the uk and add a bit of dazzle with a flashy ko of a big lump
Just one word: SCARY!
Anatoliy Lomachenko was in Usyk's corner so I think he's back with him.
Cynical Sonny yeah I noticed he was there tonight. I don’t think he was for the Briedis fight tho was he?
Nah, for the Breidis fight that Ukrainian don was in his corner.
I wanna see usyk vs tabiti
No money in it. Usyk now goes to big money fights at Heavyweight. He won't jump from a 3 Mio $ payday to a 300K $ payday against Tabiti.
besides Tabiti hasn't fought that level of opposition, he should be aiming for the other guys in the Super series before thinking of Usyk.
Bumquad thinking of going down to cruiserweight if Usyk goes up to heavyweight, his ducking know's no shame, bumfighter 4life.
he fought 10 cruisers allready why not 1 more
39 bums and a never won nothing cuban O.A.P.
Usyk vs Ward at cruiserweight?
Usyk easily
Time to move up, interesting what he could do at HW, he's a big cruiser.
gassier really disappointed, thought he would bring more than just a one punch hope.
Usyk reamins a beast! Bellew- DO NOT fight him
he wasn't good enough yes
and that disappointed me,
but his performance disappointed me more, he could have shown more movement more angles, but he plodded around like a walking punch bag
Carl Gal Bellew would never fight at Goodison again. Especially not if it's against Usyk
hes too small for the likes of aj but would beat most heavyweights around
Carl Gal Pretty sure Hearn would have Usyk v Bellew as a PPV in its own right rather than an undercard.
Also, what do you think of this picture: image.ibb.co/ceRmNT/Heavyweight_division_2.png ?
I know it don’t pay that well, but I’d love to see Usyk vs Briedis 2 and Usyk vs Dorticos
Bellew vs Usyk 02 arena December 2018.
No way bellew would get beat on points and lose 11 of them 12 rounds
I believe Usyk would win, but it is a realistic fight. Hearns POV, decent pay day for bellew and would build any future heavyweight fight with whyte, AJ even a Chisora anyone else. It's a 65/35 sky ppv fight in Usyk favour against bellew. Not sure theirs much else for Bellew
are you on crak bellew 35% it would be 50 50 usyk aint no big draw over here
I meant the Usyk is the favourite to win the fight, by about 65%
Great assessment Hatman 👍 Congrats to Usyk.
So if he didn't get k.o.d, he could definitely run around him and get points decision!!🤔😉👍
how come gassiev didn't feint the right and throw the left when usyk pivoted right?
I think he was a bit overwhelmed by Usyk's pace.
Jesus!! Haven't seen a schooling like that since Calzaghe vs Lacy!! But I'm a big fan of Gassiev and tho I picked Usyk (who's also my favourite boxer) I hope Gassiev can learn from this and improve
and I agree his footwork was atrocious but I think it was amplified by desperation and panic, shame but I hope he comes back better and stronger
Good fight.
If he moves up to heavyweight do you give him a chance against AJ?
wilder and aj both knock him out
Ignore this PunchQuote guy. There is a chance he beats both AJ and Wilder. He'd only beat them on points though. It's a smallish chance but actually more of a chance than most people think.
I said it before that Usyk will outclass Gassiev and I expected Usyk to stop Gassiev in late rounds. But still master class performance.
Kudryashov Punch is definitely hard AF, but he is too slow!! Usyk would not let him set up his shots. he would smother him with his jab
Yeah but do you think Usyk has the power to KO him?
I get what Hatman is saying with the Holyfield comparison, but first Cruiserweight as a division doesn’t have all time great champions. So being the second best cruiserweight of all time is kind of meaningless. Secondly, Holyfield went on to be heavyweight champ, that makes him much greater than Usyk.
Usyk is on the way to becoming a great heavyweight
@@TheArby4444 you still feel that way ??
Briedis is a very good boxer. I thought before the tournament n still think now that he'd beat gassiev
that fight reminded me of bjs v lemieux, boxer v brawler.
I thought the same thing in about round 3
In fairness though, Gasiev isn't that bad of a boxer. Usyk is just on a different level
Bellew isn't good. Why are peoplecalling for this fight?
EMANeleVenElevEn you mean he beat a washed up Haye who clearly should have stayed retired? He gets thoroughly outclassed by Usyk anyone who's not biased knows this.
EMANeleVenElevEn this didn’t age well lol
If usyk fights the bronze bomber in defence of he's undisputed credentials, the fella imo would belong in the-hall of fame.without doubt.
Jed Daniels We will never know, because Wilder doesn’t fight anyone with a pulse. He ducked Ortiz for years and fought him when he got too old 47 yrs old.
Amazing talent but with only so many fights as a pro saying the best cruiser ever is a big claim. No doubt will see more as his career develops.
Damn you fast hatman!
I had it a shut out
Usyk to fight Bellew, Lenedev and then move to heavyweight. Or even just Bellew and then up. Gassiev to fight Mairis Briedis once Usyk goes to heavy for the titles
Maximum Bellew at Cruiserweight in December and then he moves up to Heavyweight next year.
