It looks like it just applies a blur to the face
When you apply it to an extreme case like I did here, you'll get more artifacts. But you can dial all of those in.

Eh, I am happy the ability to do this exists, but it's a slippery slope into uncanny valley. Plus, part of the beauty (pun intended) of RUclips is that you don't need to be perfect to be part of the community.

What about teeth? I had two front teeth knocked out a few weeks ago and don't have the bridge or whatever it's called yet... Can it add teeth so I don't look like I sleep with my cousins?
Unfortunately it can't that quite yet.
Maybe it gets an AI-feature-update soon like Photoshop or similar, than it should be possible

Anyway to refine the mask on this effect? I played with it a while back an only saw one slider which wasn't doing it for me. Love your videos btw!
It just occurred to me, any way to link it to surface tracker maybe?
Just turn the overlay back on and you can adjust any of those keyframes.
@@Daniel_Batal How would I do that, sorry I'm new to video editing. In case were on a different page I'm talking about the edge of the face refinement mask. Last time I used it, it overlapped into the actors hairline. Probably wouldn't have been an issue, but it dragged the other stuff I had in fusion page along with it so it made it pretty obvious.

You can, not with this feature. That would be an advanced level edit.

That was probably my fault for going with someone with such an extreme skin condition for the sake of making a point.
My goal was really to show where these features exist in DR.

The levels of contral are fairly complex and nuanced.

Of course you can.
Just add a serial node and apply the effect to the other face in the second node.

Obviously I took it to the extreme. You can do a lot more subtle applications.
Does the "Studio" part mean paid version? That seems a little complex for the free version.
Studio is the name of the Resolve paid version.

I went with an EXTREME case of acne just for show. You can dial in a sorts of variables.
Hi Daniel, I was looking up da vinci's site to buy resolve 18, and I realised they don't sell it directly on their site.
In my region there is only one reseller that doesn't have version 18.
Do you know of a global seller? and when you buy it, it's just an activation key right?
Yes. As much as I love the software, purchasing it is a bit of hurdle. They sell the software in two versions, a dongle (where they ship you physical piece to insert into your computer that has the software and the activation code in it) or just a keygen, which is simply the activation code to punch in while installing the Studio version which you can download from Black Magic's website. Now you would THINK the keygen would be something they email to you but... nope.
It also gets shipped on what is basically like a credit card with the keygen printed on it. (I know, it's silly)
The reason it's so convoluted is that Black Magic Design is primarily a hardware company selling all sorts of high end video editing mixing consoles and video editing keyboards. Resolve is just the software they've developed to support their hardware line and they happened to build an excellent software.
So, I would advise going through Amazon to purchase the Studio version as they can easily provide a reseller who would ship to your region.
One other thing to consider, I purchased the speed editor bundle. Basically if you pay the price of the speed editor ($395) they just give you the lifetime Studio software license included as a "bundle".
Sometimes you'll see it listed as "Davinci Resolve 17 bundle" but the license applies to all current updates.

I went a little extreme with this one but it's pretty rad. It even does small adjustments like brighten up the whites of your eyes or smooth out bags from under the eyes.
