Hello friend of wood and work! The Tradesmen sent me over. Thank you for sharing knowledge with us! I am working on a bench as well. I went a bit nuts at glue up and , well, let’s say making her flat has made a few extra shavings :)
Jim sent me over and wow I am impressed. Our camera work and editing is top notch! I'm re-watching Paul's bench series and getting ready to start mine so looking forward to watching yours! How about a little overview of those gorgeous timber saw horses!
I’m sure I am the only one but I will admit I use checking for level with my hand plane is a great way for me to catch my breath! Time for me to build this, once I finish the 4 projects ahead of it😳 you did a nice job.
The Tradesman (Jim) gave you a shout out, so I'm here enjoying your video. I'm hitting my subscribe button now. Looking forward to watching your other videos.
I built those several years ago. I found the plans online. I have tried to find them recently and been unsuccessful. I know timberframehq has some similar plans though.
@@lastingbuild1373 Have you found that those woods are hard/sturdy enough? I'm preparing to make my first bench and see lots of suggestions for hard maple. I will be doing some light metal work (1/4" cold rolled steel rod) and worry about excessive gouging on the top.
Are you using 2x4s for the top as well? Also I've seen you use holdfasts in your videos, mind sharing which ones you purchased? Love the videos. Keep up the great work.
@@lastingbuild1373 oh great thanks. I did a really quick search for them last night but it was pretty late already so had to turn in. Look forward to watching the video. Thank you!
I just recently bough a Granberg Alaska Mill.... I wonder how this would work with rough sawn hemlock, and an expanding urethane glue? I know.... it's a bit hack-ish compared to your build....But I think with a final hand planing of the top it might be pretty nice regardless, albeit less pretty. I still think it would be more stable than a contiguous slab If I had a planer/jointer it would be a whole different story ;)

George Jirout thanks for watching. I hope you enjoy the videos. I put some shavings in my garden for mulch.

Awesome stuff.
John montague glad you like it!
Beautifyl sawhorses. Will you make a video on making them?
That was before my filming days! I’ll discuss them with the tour! I do have some additional pics on lumberjocks if you want to check that out!
Just saw your lamination top. Great video. Honestly, I lost it when I saw the trellises. Please share plans.

LastingBuild thank you! I meant type trestle. Beefy things.
You were referred by TheTradesmanChannel... Looking forward to digging into your content. Thanks
Great! Welcome! The tradesman has been really supportive of my projects!
What woods did you use compared to what PS calls for in his plans?
I used pine for top and rough sawn poplar for legs!

Thats correct! laminated 2x4. I have a video about them somewhere, I will try to find it.

Thank you!
I can see that I have a lot of work to do on my planes. I cannot yet get those kinds of curls from soft pine.
It takes some work to get the back flat!!

Oak Knob Farm the plans use cheap construction grade lumber but I’m sure you could use about any hardwood as well
Jim the tradesman Recommended you.
