@steelitcoatings, I am planning on painting my bumpers for my Jeep, would you recommend throwing on the primer that you STEEL-IT offer before applying the paint? The roads are salted & sanded in the winter. So I am looking for something that it tough. Does this paint need a clear coat or would I be ok with just the paint? I just want it to last a few years.

I’m new to the welding game so... you say stainless steel flakes. Does this mean only tig welding can be done on steelit or will mig work as well? Thanks!

Well I'm sure it's weldable with a mig and typical c25 or straight co2 as the shielding gas and fluxcore ... I doubt the micro flake coating of the mild steel constitutes a tri mix to weld with mig , which is the shielding gas used to accommodate the stainless steel weld puddle... you don't need to tig stainless ...lol... there isn't really any magic with rig welding it's still just arc welding.

If there is a little surface rust that isn’t removed and it’s painted over it does it seal that in? Thanks!

Of course, it would seal it in. But it could continuing growing under the coating.

NDT Tech then wouldn’t it not really be sealed in then? If it grows under it we should be able to tell very quickly as it would start to bubble right? I live in the desert where I’ll probably be dead before anything rusts through though.
