  • In February of this year I asked viewers, friends, and family to describe their dreams to me. The plan was to convert these dreams into domino effects and chain reactions which would explore the abstract nature of dreams as well as the unreliability in attempting to recall them.
The result is a project filled with thousands of falling dominoes, domino structures, and chain reactions with purposefully skewed and abstract meanings.
Thank you so much to everyone who submitted their dreams, even those whose dreams did not make the final product. This video would not be possible without you.

Simply a masterpiece. In Twenty Years Compressed, you explored your own stories and memories in order to help yourself work through them. Now, you've done the same for all of us :) This is so generous of you, thank you for having the courage to make this as interactive as it was.
It's been a while since we've done a clip-by-clip analysis on a video but holy shoot if there's one that deserves one it's this, so...
Conrad - Totally unsure what any of this means and that's exactly how I felt after having the dream. Stellar.
    Gran - Mic drop!!!
Zham - Your ways of seamlessly connecting different elements of your stories together in the pathing of the setup have really improved, and this is a shining example. The effect with the clear dominoes is beautiful and so effective at communicating a cloud and precipitation, as they almost sound like raindrops when they fall.
Aaron - It's just peaceful. But what's really excellent is the building in complete black. You don't even notice it at first, and you don't even see it fall only hear it. I feel the colours are a comparison between the darkness of humanity and civilization, and the freedom of frolicking in a forest by a rushing river with no societal pressures, and though that darkness may still be be felt, they don't need to cloud our vision and stop us from enjoying ourselves.
Rowan - Ok yeah imagine being in the perspective of the white domino at the front, watching these wormy snake beings coming toward you. Seems like the first nightmarish clip in the video, but there's also a sense of serenity as the project really resembles a forest as well.
Quang Anh - There is so much love radiating from this clip and dream. It's emotionally grand, but still so much nuance in how you've arranged the lines and colours. Might be our favourite in the video.
Jude - Stepping through a portal into an alternate dimension? In my one oh one video? It's more likely than you think. Also, Dakky and I often talk about "sexy swirls" but yours, darling, are by far the sexiest >:3
Gavin - Yes. Yes yes yes. It literally feels exactly like a pristine upper-class suburban neighbourhood with finely cut lawns and a strange emptiness pervading the atmosphere, like a museum of houses, quietly tip-toeing along the sidewalk thinking if you're even allowed to be there. We love how all the houses feel the same on their exterior but have little differences between them in the interior, and the way you arrange colours is just so smart.
Brady - Really interesting way of capturing dialogue between two entities. And I love the blobs of colour to represent them! It feels more soulful and heartfelt, representing a deeper connection than just two bodies moving their mouths at one another and making blah blah noises.
Dre - This one looks uncomfortably similar to blood clotting. It's like your DIY open heart surgery project, but if they never got the surgery.
Chase - NeGaTiVE sPaCE uWU In all the other clips, you generally fill in the spaces in the projects, so this one really stands out. It feels like knowing what you dreamt about, but having elements of the dream missing when you attempt to recollect them.
Michael - Really lovely, we love the softness of this one, and the perfect symmetry in every aspect except for the gentle flow of the swirls, showing that there can never be perfect cosmic balance in even the most controlled of scenarios.
you may be a :( but you make us go :) :3. always remember that. You've come so far in your return to domino art and made some of the most touching and emotionally nuanced videos we've ever seen while being part of this community, and we couldn't be more grateful for all you've done.
    - sweetie Conrad

Actually, mine was more similar to seeing the world far away with normal colors, but then when I out of nowhere saaw the world in a bit of a distance before seeing a bunch of vibrant colors swirling in to random places, and that green, and easterish color scheme he used was a perfect example.

Wow, I can't explain how weird it is seeing this for the first time, but the way you make these in a dreamscape like way is unreal. I can differently interpret some of the people's dreams, like Michael, with the outer box being all of the madness going on around, and the middle being the place where he can forget everything and find peace, and Gran, with everything crumbling apart, the only way to truly end it, it's to take your own life. This style is very revolutionary and inspiring, merging real art with dominoes, and I applaud you for that.

    Wow !
I didn't write my dream because I didn't manage to say it in english. What a pity, because this video is wonderful!
I've always been impressed by your builds. The details, the colors, the technics used go too well together to let me imagine that you just put them randomly : the setup is here because you have something to tell and the whole thing is thought to tell it. There's always a meaning just clear enough so we can see it but blurred to let us imagine, reflex, think about the world differently...
    I love your sensibility.

This is an interesting video since it's the first time the meaning behind the domino art had written accounts that we got to see. It's a nice look into how real-life events can translate into domino designs. But of course there's still so much for us to interpret on our own :)

That was just beautiful ❤️ I really liked how you executed these dreams in a story way. I love how much you put into these dominoes! Great job on mine!! I loved that beautiful choice for a bright color scheme on mine! This should go in the top 10 domino videos of 2021! What a beautiful, and meaningful video!! I think I might do this sometime, thanks to you 😃!! I do not know what else to say, except phonomenal job, and thanks so much!

Another one of your best works, this concept and style of video is so unconventional when it comes to domino art yet you managed to present and execute the idea so perfectly. The designs in this video look great as always and they covey emotion so effectively, especially with 'Gran', i genuinely got chills when i saw the sudden cut for the first time. Thanks so much for including my dream as well, since i know what my original comment was it's really cool to see how you translate an idea into an abstract setup, the clip was utterly beautiful by the way :)

Perfection. You managed to recreate each dream in such a unique and abstract way, making for some truly wonderfully artistic setups. I also liked how there was lots of room for interpretation, and each person could come up with a different idea of what the dream was. Also thanks for doing my dream too, it was cool seeing you recreate it with dominoes. I really liked what you did with it, it was like there were lots of people walking and going around, and then suddenly someone fell in and caused all the ice to crack. Such a good video from you once again!
