I may have a theory about the ones that melt in hot cars. I almost burned our house down the day before listing it on the market in 2016. I had stained a door track and spilled the quart of stain. I cleaned it up and set the rags in top of full trash can that also had cut up carpet squares I took out of a bedroom. The oils in the rag began to heat up and self combusted over night. So my theory of why some freshies May melt and others don’t could be the oil, or carrier oil. I may be totally wrong but FYI: if you spill any oils and clean them up, take rags and paper towels outside away from house. We had to add the disclosure of garage trash can fire to paperwork on top of repainting the whole garage and wiping everything down. Luckily very little odor entered house and cleared up within a few weeks.
You’re welcome! I think the easiest way to know they are quality is to buy them from reputable companies. Buy It Ship It, Lone Star Candle Supply, Crimson Candle Supply, PP4F, Aroma Beads Online and Stay Fresh with peanut are all the most frequently used companies for beads by freshie makers mostly because they sell them with the sole purpose of them being used to make freshies and so these companies test their beads for this specific purpose. Definitely avoid Amazon for beads, typically you’re going to pay more per ounce and there’s a good chance your oil will never absorb.

I think the oven cooks better than the toaster oven. I have to bake mine freshies multiple times to get them to form. I did get a toaster oven because I was worried about the smell lingering. I think I'll go back to the oven.
I am making a bulk amount for a car show. I ran out of beads for my mens scents. I have two that are dry. But only cured for about two days. But the car show is on Thursday. 😩

Yes you can! I always keep one in each of my bathrooms, smells like there’s a candle burning all the time 😊 they last a lot longer indoors as well. You can also put them in drawers and closets. Yes you can keep them in the garage to dry but after filming this video I later learned that if the sun is going to turn beads yellow when drying then it will still turn them yellow after it’s baked 😐 so now I put them in the sun so I know if they turn yellow and how yellow they will be so I can use darker colors that cover the yellow, definitely don’t want them doing that in a customer’s car and ruining the design…
Hi. I am looking for some expert help. What happens after 5-6 months and they still aren't drying? Mine are still sticking to the jars, not horribly, but I probably made the mistake of adding DPG in the fragrance. So, now what? Can I still use them to make car freshies if I dry them out on an absorbent towel? What do you recommend? If I can't use them I surely can't throw them away, cost me too much $. I weighed 4oz beads and 1 oz fragrance oil. And it’s been about a week and they still aren’t soaking up😫 any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? Im just so confused because I have been researching left and right and everyone has been saying do the 4:1 ratio and I did but it’s still not soaking up. Thanks!
Hey there! So some scents take longer to soak. Which scents are you having a problem with and how long have they been soaking? Usually if I have one that’s taking longer I will set it outside in the sun or wrap it in a heating pad. Warming them up a bit always speeds up the process!

The blueberry cheesecake and pink sugar ones are the ones that are taking awhile. I started on 3/28 and they’re still not fully cured yet. I had even added more beads. I will definitely try the heating pad though, thank you!
@@bananers9654 So their pink sugar is my #1 favorite scent of all time and all I put in my car 🤗 it most definitely takes longer to dry than most! It takes mine about 2 days to dry with a heating pad or out in the sun….you are already many days in so a heating pad will finish it off pretty quick! I’ve never gotten the blueberry cheesecake but I have seen a ton of posts about that one taking a long time too. So most commonly you will have this issue with fragrances that are leather or a leather blend (cherry leather, etc), fragrances with a high vanilla content, cotton candy scents (like pink sugar) and some of the super sweet dessert type fragrances.

If you smell some coffee beans and then try smelling the freshie again. It clears the nose.

Can you use soap oil or candle oils for the car Freshes or the powder for the color for soap and candle on them

@@bananers9654 nothing wrong with your ratio at all! That’s the same amount I do with the same beads and oil, they will dry 😊
Are these safe to bake in the house with a cat? I’m super interested in making these but wanted to make sure it was safe before I bought the products
