- It is time to try out this new Pokémon, Golisopod, in the Go Battle League in the Ultra League after spending 400 candies just to evolve it. We get see if it is worth the 400 candies investment on this Pokémon or not.

Off the top of my head, the Pokémon that require 400 candies to evolve: Magikarp, Wailmer, Swablu, Meltan, Noibat, Stufful, and Wimpod. 😜

It took me a whooping trimester getting and hatching 10k eggs and few 7k from sky event to get 400 noibat candy😭

I caught Altary or whatever that is in the wild one day (but Ig that was god's compensation for me fumbling a Galarian Articuno that day 🥲)
I memed around in open Master League with a triple bug team, including Golisiopod, Heracross and Scizor.
Heracross is probably the best of the three in terms of most matchups, but I honestly feel like Golisiopod despite its awful moveset ended up being my MVP despite not even being level 50.
This thing would be pretty damn good with a decent move update at some point in the future.
The moves is what really hold it back, I’m going to xl mine and just meme with it. Hopefully they do update its moves, it could become pretty good if they do.

I caught a hundo Wimpod and evolved him his cp went from 400+ to 2700+
I am not surprised at the amount of candies this man has. I am a rural player and even I have 2k wimpod candies.
1:51 same as other 400 candy evolutions such as Altaria/Gyarados, calls it surprising
Altaria and Gyarados are actually good for PVP and PVE, plus also have megas.

I did wind up getting a rank 16 wimpod, plus enough candies to evolve, second move and boost for great league. Just currently waiting to see if they update its garbage moveset.

I have found this Mon very useful in Great League. Ultra, not so much.

Probably not, thats up to 225k dust spent when you could use it to max anything else thats more relevant. And thats if you dont level 50 it
It’s garbage…. I destroy everytime I battle it.
So I played it alongside two other bug types in open Master League, before it was even level 50.
It definitely put in more work than I imagined it would. Given how pretty much the whole Master League meta just stomp bugs, I assume it'll be considerably better in Great and Ultra League, but while it'll be kind of a meme, it can actually put in some work, even in a meta that mostly resists it.

Have you ever used Smeargle against your friend in battles, 3 smeargles and not going over 300 CP?? It is quite fun because you never know what you are encountering until you get hit. I just did this, very fun!!

There is a strategy.. Attack in Pvp isn't favored as much as defense best ivs for most are 0-15-15

It's garbage, does not have hard hitting charge move. I would suggest you to go with araquanid.
Don't evolve the great league one but hold on to it in case of move updates. As the guy told you Araquanid is far more relevant in great league.
However Golisopod will be relevant at Ultra League. Right now it's just a Cresselia hunter but it gets way better moves than what Niantic gave it. Hopefully they update its charge moves later.

evolved this flat insect of 406 CP and CP went to 2777 unexpected 🔥
