- These are the first Otis Gen3 elevators on RUclips (PAelevators has also filmed these)! More specifically, these are the Gen3 Peak model because the motor is centered on the ceiling above the car. These are confirmed to be Gen3 as there are Gen3 documents showing specifications that these are consistent with. The easiest way to tell is the new lanterns and indicators. These are only available on the Gen3 models, NOT the Gen2 (there are documents confirming this). Most Gen3s will likely also have an LCD style car indicator, but for some reason, they just went with the regular indicator for this install. I will from this point forward give these fixtures the unofficial name "Series 8", even though they only slightly differ from the "Series 7" called fixtures.

Gen3 being 2 years old is crazy. Now TKE EOX or Evolution 200 is the new upcoming thing I guess
Interesting. Honestly I would have thought that these were Gen2's with souped-up lanterns
These are starting to pop up some more I would think. They are currently installing one right by my house. Found it open on the 2nd floor for the first time (building is open but the elevator is a work in progress) and it has the new Otis eView indicator but the power isn't on quite yet.
Skyscrapersim boutta get their first Gen3, let alone a MOD of a Hydraulic. Odd, yes?
What’s eView? Is that the type of indicator on a Gen3????
These might just be prototypes, but I guess it's safe to call them Gen3 anyhow, esp. because of the documents. I would not go w/ "series 8," esp. since the interior COP is the exact same (unless if it has the other indicator).
How much longer until they reach NJ?
Probably not much longer.
I don't think these are gen3, they're just Newer series 2 with prototype cosmetics/signalization line. the motor being centered in the shaft could very well just be an overslung setup. this looks like a Gen2 to me. plus, it's been said that the first Gen3 will be installed in China
That just means that was the 1st set ordered, it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be the 1st installed. Other installs can start & finish between some other install. There are documents showing the lanterns & exterior indicators used here are the official 1s for the North American Gen3.
The buttons, i think they are actually called 3rd Generation Series 2 in this case
🤦♂️
They're the same as all the other HydroFit and Gen2 Installs
the voice is slightly different
These aren’t called series 8, or 7, and I get it’s an unofficial name but these fixtures are used on all of Otis’s models aside from series 1 and destination dispatch, the real name of it is MicroMotion III
Yeah, I’m pretty sure they’re not called “Newer Series 2” either.
Yeah, it’s not a false term because Otis uses the name, but it isn’t the true name.
The part about applied being Series 2 & swing-return being Series 4 might be true, as it is on older COPs, but those names are not on any Otis documents w/ these COPs, & the "newer Series 2" & 4 part is definitely not official, it's probably just something someone added to differentiate these from older versions. I just call these the (newer) applied & swing-return panels. Only the buttons themselves (not the COPs) are Micro-Motion III.
@@EWPA14 yeah I’m not calling the whole elevator a micromotion III, or the panel, I’m talking about the button, and yes, I guess you are right about the NS2, 4 because I got told that Otis used it, so I’m assuming it’s just called series 2, 4
The Otis Gen3 chimes sound like KONE KSS Chimes at high tone.
Very Similar!
Also similar in tempo to the Low Pitch Schindler HT chimes.
@@braydenellerman1936 And the American voice sounds so cute! 😊❤
These are cool, although these are most likely not Gen3s as they havent even released them in Asia yet, post likely just custom or prototype NS2/Gen2s.
They're prototypes. They for sure have Gen3 components, but I'm not 100% sure if they're fully Gen3.
Actually, the first Gen3s are in China. Not USA.
@@NeilPrasad_1905 That just means that was the 1st set ordered, it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be the 1st installed. Other installs can start & finish between some other install. We're not saying these are the 1st anywhere (& no 1 should even say these are officially the 1st in the U.S. either). But there are documents showing the lanterns & exterior indicators used here are the official 1s for the North American Gen3. I think it's safe to say these are the 1st Gen3s on YT.
I ride only gen 2.
