No comparison, as far as noise and power. I can here my neighbors, a 1/2 mile away on there Polaris. This is the best video I've come across. Good job!
Thank you very much. Unfortunately Polaris’s do have a bark, but I believe eventually government sound restrictions will tighten, one of our ride locations is using a sound meter. Thank you for watching and commenting 😊
I had the new can am for a month and stator quit, took two months to get parts, meanwhile sold it and got a John Deere. The deere is not as fast but fast enough 48 mph compare to 60. The doors are terrible on the can am, sucide opening and straps hold it. JD has cylinders to open and leave door open. Jd has electric dump box lift. Simple controls for the heater and fan, air and heater work great. Electric windows are great on the can am if they work. Have to use parking brake, new gators have a Park on transmission.
good summary, i think you did a great job without directly saying it that the two machines fit slightly different markets. Most of that model of John Deere is probably not going to spend as much time burning up the trail - but ask ranchers what their ''offices" are and you can bet green is the most common - many JD are run for hours a day / hundreds of hours a year checking fences and caring for live stock
Excellent observation, you buy who you feel comfortable with...farmers are comfortable with the dealer they buy their tractors from. My jd dealer is so nice. My brother loves that gator fills it with kids and drives it around his property. You made my night thank you for appreciating the video.🙂
Just bought a 2020 hd8 and it's so quite and smooth. I love it. I would never have a john deere as I used to be a mechanic at my local john deere deal and when you said john deere quality I laughed my ass off.
I have an 835 HVAC model we use at work all the time. We live out of it. Always miles from anything. We also rent other units. I can tell you if the cab on the JD is with a dollar the others are worth a nickel. Cept maybe the Kubota. A daily diet of suicide doors gets OLD. The 835 is quieter inside than anything else we’ve used. I have no experience with the CanAm. JD needs to do two things to this model. Make a FLARED bed side to keep mud off the doors this is a must. And it needs to have closer to 100hp. I’m not sure the typical JD purchaser needs that but to be competitive with the crossover market that’s where it needs to be. Most of our use is in low range so it doesn’t really matter. I can tell you even with les power everyone piles in the Gator and nobody wants to use the Club Car rental. Those diesels are horrible.
@@maraudermitchelliThis was a long weekend so I picked up the 835 and the Ranger to clean them off a little. The ranger is a 900 cab and soft doors. To give readers and idea the Ranger in low range is almost as fast as the 835 in high range. But I don't think its a hp issue. I think the Gator feels like it's just lower geared. So throwing more horsepower without increasing the available wheel speed and how the clutch hooks up I don't think would do much, and might just make it a little less drivable around the farm. I'm not really sure the 835 IS a crossover UTV. Remember it's WIDE. Like 65-66 inches WITHOUT mirrors or anything. And the cab has straight walls on the side. So the Gator is a little over a year and a half old with 1500 hours and the Ranger is almost new at 215 hours. The 835 cab is a lot nicer. NOW something to consider after cleaning them myself I can tell you I really appreciate the smooth(er) dash and cab of the 835 compared to the Ranger. The 835 is much easier to clean up. The Horses butts were driving the 835 around in the mud with the windows down and the front windshield up. OH one more thing I left the roll of paper towels on the dash of the Ranger and it rained overnight. It was soaked the next morning. That would never happen in the Gator. But again, the performance of the Ranger is VASTLY different than the Gator. So you can be rolling like 5MPH on a dirt road and floor it and it'll slide sideways trying to take off. The Gator just isn't going to do that. I think the 835 sits pretty much between a Kubota RTV and the Ranger/Can AM/Mule(maybe). I've rented the RTVs they just don't have enough wheel speed for even a little mud or hill climb. The 835 has much better wheel speed but you're not going to do a full whiskey throttle, high speed, four wheel, total wound out, tire burning climb up a rock face like you see some people do on some videos. For what it might be worth to you I have an 835M with the headliner. It makes the M series feel much more refined. That might be a nice selling feature. It's a big jump from an 835M to an 835R. I'm considering tracks for the Gator. One last thing I almost forgot the Gator feels 100% more stable on a side hill than the Ranger. I drive the gator around my septic mound to get to the pole barn and I felt like I shouldn't be doing that in the Ranger. It did it, but it didn't "feel" the same. I can let my kids drive the Gator around my house and yard and not worry too much about either. If I let them run around in the Ranger I wouldn't have a yard! Take care from NE PA.
Elkmonger my brother loves his gator, jd says they it runs at a higher rpm to cool the transmission. If owned 8 sxs, 3 utvs, they all have impressed me. I will probably get a cab defender in the next several years, as of now I love my defender. Check out some of my defender videos. Email me a picture of your utvs to maraudermitchelli@gmail.com 😊
The RSX's do not come with factory doors and windows. I did have a height restriction also. The 835 just clears the opening on my Haulmark enclosed trailer. Peter several times says the engine is laboring. It isn't. The transmission was set up by John Deere to keep the motor in its power band. Though his Can-Am is a power house. The tires only had 10 lbs of air when we went on the speed test.
In reference to the JD, I wouldn’t really call it a “very lightweight machine” when the dry weight is over 2200 pounds. I love mine! I also have a 1025R and love it too!
The Can Am is an awesome machine. I wish the Can Am had body matched panels on the doors. The cab units look like aftermarket cabs compared to the JD cab that looks 100% factory.
Grew up operating John Deere...always be John Deere. Favorite color is Green...Also the same color of money. lol. The thing that buys the toys. hahaha. Hey, Round is a shape. I am Round. I know 😜
Marauder Mitchelli All that matters is that he loves it. Same goes for you. Try to keep an eye out on new uploads when you have them 😎 Especially when the tractor comes out to play!
@@NorthCountryBoyz we could sell ya all our deere tractors and combine and all the deere equipment and new holland too if they wanted because we just gave up buying deeres and newhollands and were going all kubotas and case equipment
Michael Mac Tavish If only that powerball would hit....if only I played the powerball...I would have an adult sized playground of toys all painted green 😎
Congrats to your brother on his awesome new John Deere, he definitely did his research on them and knew what he wanted. Hopefully we'll see him riding with you and Dave in the future! Although he'll have to be out front setting the pace because you guys will leave him in the dust going up some of those trails. I like the part when the 3 of you were speed testing the Deere, you guys were like 3 kids in a toy store! I guess that's what Deere dealerships are though, toy stores for adults! LOL Happy New Year!
Gator B I don’t think that unit is available with a cab with heat and ac. He wanted a full cab with comfort controls. I h are that model has an Italian engine and is pretty hot. Happy New Years 😊
Thomas you must own this machine you are very passionate about it...that's awesome! My brother loves his machine, i have to do an update video he's added many accessories. So you know I'm a John Deere tractor guy, my channel started when i purchased my 3046R...so i once thought that I bled green. I've owned 6 JD tractors over the last 30 years. There are so many great machines on the market today. Please don't get upset over my opinion...it can change anytime. I do not like Honda...i owned several but i drove a Talon and was so amazed by the geared transmission...no cvt. Don't ever hesitate to disagree with me and comment. Thank you my brother loves his machine.
Ive owned both, Can Am was always broke down with steering rack, transfer case issues, fuel pump, doors, etc. 2-3 weeks to get parts, couldn't be down that long with livestock. Gator is slower, but cab fit n finish is better, hvac is better and more reliable. Pick your poison.
Jim Ronchetto you exactly right and I’m exactly wrong. I’m sorry and will correct this in my follow up video. Thank you for commenting and being so kind and understanding...😊
Watch my latest video, my wife likes the window in vent position and the windows down...go figure i do also. Thank you for watching and commenting stay safe.
It sucks that you chose a bare bones 835M that doesn’t even have headlights and showed that compared to a Can Am that looks like it isn’t your “bare bones” machine. Let’s be real show apples to apples here not rotten apple to apple. Took my 835R on the trails through 2 feet of water and make it just as far as a rzr and it works at home 10 times harder than a rzr would.... just saying... compare them price to price!!
Okay you win. Please understand my videos don’t always start out with a mission...they’re gathered video that I try to tell a story...I didn’t know where this was going in the beginning. My brother purchased a dolled up machine and I’m over due for a followup. He’s installed many accessories. I may have a new cab unit soon. I like your comment you have a good point. 🙂

I’m glad you like the jd, my brother does also. No issues with my defender so far, not fun when their down. I need to do an update on my brothers.

Chris Beekley my brother likes it...quality is relative but you know the Machine better than I. Thank for commenting 🙂
Chris Beekley I made someone laugh 😆
I looked at several UTV's, decided on the 835M, no cab, love the machine, plenty of power and speed for me.
Jerry my brother loves his stay warm 🙂
Make a. Video of her self
Definitely not enough speed 4 me though

Pat Papaleo yes he does 😉

I believe that for work the gator would be stronger like a Kubota. My brother loves his gator I have to do a follow up gator video. Stay safe 🙂
What is your brother do for a living he looks very smart
Pat Papaleo hi pat he works in our business, he researched the heck out of the John Deere. Happy New Years 😊
My father and my godfather 😘
Carolyn Casilio I have no idea who you are but I love you 😘
It has a 3 cylinder dual overhead cam engine made in China by Chery.
Jim Ronchetto dealer said the engine is made in Italy...hmm how confident are you it even sounds Italian

That’s a pretty cool machine I rather have Can-Am or Polaris
I like Can Am for now
I have to stop watching "Tractor Time with Tim". It's costing me a lot of money. Tim if you are watching I ordered the lift!! What are we buying next?
Pat Casilio,Jr. Good job Pat, everyone hopes you’ll love the machine on the trail!
He called a combine a chopper
You’re the expert...I just watch them on RUclips and think they’re awesome. 😊
Leave the doors on and windows up in the summer.... turn the AC on
Watch my latest video, my wife likes the window in vent position and the windows down...go figure i do also. Thank you for watching and commenting stay safe.
