Congratulations Ottawa. I'm grateful you will be getting the new arena and district. I'm in Edmonton and I know how much it's done here. Take care all.
So glad the arena got NCC approval. If you don't live in Ottawa, you really have no idea how much of a bureaucratic blight that organization is to the development of the city. They are the sole reason why an arena wasn't built downtown Ottawa to begin with.
I imagine like the only public funds going towards the new Ottawa Arena are for “infrastructure improvements” aka traffic signaling in/around the arena. That's how it should be.
@@deltagolavista1 And I think that's the big one. The main reason why the flats (which are right near my house) is the amount of contamination in the soil.
Solid contract for both the team and for Mercer. I'm surprised they were able to get a 3rd year too. Was thinking 2 at the most. Fair to say by the end of this deal we'll know if he's closer to the player he was in 2022-23, or the one he was last season.
I played dozens of hours on be a pro mode in nhl 22... PlayStation plus gave out NHL 24 and I was hyped....till I booted it up and it's the exact same content. Hope they update the be a pro mode
sure, but you realize they are in cap hell cuz Luke needs a deal than Nemec needs a deal and NJ fans are already freaking out about those deal and starting to trade everyone.
@@judistzoinkiski3395 a lot of contracts will be coming off the books the next few years. Also the Kovalchuk recapture penalty. That's not also factoring in the belief the cap will continue to rise. It's not as dire a situation as it looks. Just my opinion though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Love the promotion for Rick Nash. He is still a great face for the franchise and still my favorite player. He was director of player development for CBJ and seemed to be doing good job from what I could see.
I hope the Senators new arena (which will draw a different caliber of Sens fans) isn't going to be 2000 seats smaller than what I remember seeing proposed. If I was still living in Almonte, I would find it very difficult to see a game in the new Canadian Tire Place (doubt it will be called that) arena with OC Transpo replacing its bus only Transitway infrastructure with the 'reliable' O-train that goes as far west as Lebreton Flats.
I feel the exact same on the EA NHL games. I want Franchise mode to be good again but only played the last one for an hour at most and never touched it again.
Just checked out the deep dive video on NHL 25 franchise mode, and they added no movement and no trade clauses to the game. Hopefully you will still be able to create a 33rd NHL team. If so, I’ve already got mine planned, lines and everything.
in NHL 17 i made the Kansas City Scouts when the game first came out before you could move the teams . the Penguins traded Malkin to the Kings this is the part i didnt get the Kings had injuries and when everyone was going to be healthy they would have been over the Cap so they put Malkin on waivers i was the worst team at the time and jumped on him but i was still shocked that one the penguins traded him and the Kings didnt keep him
I'm glad other people think nhl24 is bad and not just me. First NHL game I uninstalled to go back and play the previous year. Franchise mode was broken.
Guess after this video ill check out franchise mode deep dive. Franchise mode is my favorite mode but its been lacking the past decade. I skipped NHL 22 and got franchise hockey manager that year and still go back to play the historic mode. FHM is a flawed game with different flaws than EA NHL but the historic mode keeps me coming back to it. With NHL 24 I uninstalled the game after 1.5 of 10 hour free trial then got it for free with gamepass in May, it was improved but couldnt keep me hooked for longer than a couple weeks
Good for downtown Ottawa, now Kanata can be the home of the AHL Senators. As for Belleville, the ECHL will be good for them, and they can have the Bulls name back.
Do you think that's the plan? I don't think ownership would want to risk losing any NHL ticket sales. Plus, Belleville is a good sized market for an AHL team, so if they support the B sens, why mess with a good thing?
Never take an EA game at their word. They've 'fixed' things in the past (especially with sports titles)only to make them more broken. I still enjoy playing NHL Hitz 2003. My favorite sports game and it doesn't take itself seriously. Also love the soundtrack.
We're all excited for the potenital improvements to NHL25 Franchise mode - the only good mode. However, this is EA, and we should probably wait to make sure any of the new features *actually work* before assuming they will.
Yeah, the AI for EA sports is the most absurd thing ever like I think this was on it NHR 22 or 23 I was doing a career mode. I ended up. I think this was like my sixth season in the league. I was on Vegas we were playing, I think it was Billy who had Ovechkin Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, and Panera

@@yoholmes273 - I agree with a lot of you said. The Devils' downfall is directly based on their choice to extend Ruff and let Brunette go Head Coach elsewhere.
its too bad that NHL 25 will only be on the newest gen consoles (Xbox series X and PS5). I understand that cutting off the older gens is necessary for the continued development of the engine, but I think it's a huge mistake to do that and also not release the game on PC as most people cant afford the new xbox or playstation
What a breath of fresh air the Andlauer group is compared to the previous ownership group was. All that said, I'm not going to discredit all the good work Melnyk and family did do in the past, including saving the hockey team from either folding and/or leaving the city, not to mention, being generous with investing in the team until around circa mid 2010s, to ensure the team was competitive. However, since the mid-2010s, the team has had all investments into it sucked out slowly and Andlauer's emotional interest and financial interest in the team has kicked life and faith back into the fanbase.
I will not trust EA after the decade of full on dissapointment. Year after year, dumb gimmicks. Painting over the cracks with shiny pink paint. Pretty words and not much to show that they actually are trying to make a good game. One step forward and two steps back. We will receive a stripped down version of franchise mode so that EA can introduce "brand new" features in the following years. 79,99 please.
As a Sens fan I'm not thrilled with a downtown arena. Parking will be a nightmare and their public transportation is filled with issues. The arena is fine in Kanata other than not being close enough to bars and restaurants
To add to that, there is no easy transport to and from the arena, and there's nothing but highway around the current arena. So ~30ish min to get to an arena with no facilities. It's been a long wait for Sens fans.
@@travisshipcott2808 It's not just the commute, it's the lack of other entertainment options in its vicinity. Also, one needs to think of Ottawa shaped like a 'T' and Kanata being on the left hand tip of the T. Traffic to and from the game is one way, making a half hour a nightmare. A centralized location alleviates this.
EA games are not better they are the same shit as always. They only care about online pack purchases. I don't play any games online because that costs extra money and I am poor. I also don't gamble with my money which is what buying packs is, I would like to keep the few dollars I have. Play Tape To Tape it's not a NHL licensed but you have more fun then with the EA games.
