I literally reclassed using Withers just to keep Gale in my party after starting as a wizard 😂
@@snwyowoI kept going with Gale as a wizard myself, and things went surprisingly well and balanced! I had him in the evocation subclass, I chose divination subclass, and we did a lot of setting up massive effects for one another. Like one cast grease and the other fire bolt, or cast an ice spell, and then when it melts using lightning. The Watersparkers were amazing for the duo. I had so much fun!
I need Tim to recreate "STOPLICKINGTHEDAMNTHING" once Neil makes it to the Gauntlet of Shar 🤣

As someone who DEEPLY appreciates the voice acting in this game and its fantastic nuance (lots of awards better be forthcoming damn it, they are well-deserved) it's so cool to see you out of studio actively enjoying your hard work together and discussing things like this. What a cool cast of well-chosen fun people
I love how well the actors match their respective characters. Neil is chaotic sassy and Tim is a sweetheart with a passion for books.

Astarion was who I thought I'd go for when I started BG3. And as soon as I pulled that guy out of a rock I knew it was actually Gale 😂

Let's be real- Gale and Astarion are two of the most clutch characters. Astarion for his stealth, sleight of hand, and bleeding stacks. Gale for his multitude of spell buffs and sculpt spells. Sculpt spells is literally the most broken ability in DnD, because you can hit all enemies without hurting your teammates. You could nuke yourself with Fireball and be totally fine

What spells? My gale is a axe swinging barbarian in karlacs camp clothing with a bdsm mask while karlach is a druid. Astarion became apaladin

OMG I can't believe Tim mentioned the licking line because in my game, my character is romantically involved with Gale and when she licked the spider, he straight up was like "I think it's time we see other people" and I still haven't gotten over it 😄😄

I make a concerted effort to stay away from most actor related content when it comes to media that I deeply connect with - because I'm always a bit afraid of being disappointed by the humans behind the art...but it's been impossible with the BG3 cast! Everyone seems so genuinely passionate, engaged, and excited. This kind of content only adds to the sense of joy around this game and I'm honestly grateful to be able to see it!!! 💖

@@Kerstin0212you have to go to the blighted village in act 1 and find the apothecary and astarion has to fail a nature check when clicking on the bear to get the "rawr". Its just random whether he'll fail it or not

Gale is a wonderful character. I just enjoy how he speaks and his overall good nature and humor. I like how different the main companions are.

Many people underestimate the importance of voice acting in bringing a character to life. During a difficult period in my life, I got Baldur's Gate 3, and the characters became like real friends to me. Thanks to you guys, I truly have a game that I love and enjoy spending time with. I couldn't contain my joy when I saw the actors of my two favorite characters together. You guys are amazing! Thank you for the content.
I never heard of this game. I hadn’t played any video game in near 15 years. I visited a friend one week and saw them playing BG3 and just had to buy it and play it. Zero regrets. It’s refueled my desires to make art. It’s such a perfect well rounded work of art. I’m excited for everyone who got to work on this. Congrats.
I could listen to an entire audiobook narrated by Tim. I love his voice. I already knew Neil from Resident Evil but Baldur's Gate introduced me to so many other wonderful actors. God bless them.

I feel like what makes all the characters so likeable is that none of them is perfect. They all have their moments where they are sweet, other where they are annoying, angry, saddened, funny… I can love them so much but still get annoyed at them sometimes. And it goes both ways too (*Lae’zel disapproves*)! But at the end of the day, I’ve fallen in absolute (pun intended!) love with all of them! A true work of passion and love from everyone in the Larian team!

I swear I see some of Gale's mannerisms in Tim's gesticulating. I'm still getting used to motion capture as a technology, it's really a cool technique!
The moment I knew this game would be something special was about a half hour into trying the early access. I was making Gale sneak and he was breaking the fourth wall with his complaints! “I have a spell for this you know,” and “well, there goes my center of gravity.”
Love Tim's comments about finding the truth or the audience won't believe it. This type of care and passion really shines through in the game, but is sorely missing in a lot of recent media. Bravo guys!
As someone whose first playthrough is as Gale and my favourite thing in the game is to make him play music for distraction while Astarion wipes the playce clean off everything valuable, I appreciate this stream a lot, thank you!

Have been loving the character of Gale in the game. (Goes without saying all the companions are delightful)
I really wish Larian kept some of the more snappy and sarcastic dialogue that Gale had in Early Access. It was so nice that a character actually points out inconsistencies in your dialogue options and challenges you...like you know being an actually intelligent wizard you are speaking to.
Also the response of "I've been with a Goddess but you don't see me complaining" after you romance him in Early Access was a great dialogue 😂
Too bad most players won't get to see these.
Shoutout to you Neil and Tim for all the work you put into your roles, even the bits few or none get to see.

@@zigzagintrusion there's a lot of playthroughs on YT, and I believe you can even look up "Best of Gale EA BG3" and it will yield a lot of clips.
To my knowledge there's no thorough documentation.

If you talk to the mirror as Astarion, it can’t see you and then you just have to perform correctly and it will let you enter beyond it. 🤗❤️

Ah your voice-acting is so amazing for Astarion. So full of life. So sassy, high-society-ish, thinking he's something better, but inside so broken.
Astarion is such a woobie-character, people who dont like him, seem to not be able to feel empathy :D

I’ll never forget watching Good Omens when S2 just came out - having spent quite some hours on Early Access, I was like hmm the voice line of this Mr Brown is oddly reminiscent of a certain wizard from Waterdeep - that moment when two of your favorite worlds collided

My favorite BG3 NPC is Pritt Yellowbreath. I frequently just wander the Lower City just to hear her ranting about the puzzles being taken out of the Baldur's Mouth Gazette.

I loved Choose Your Own Adventure books as a kid. Idk why I didn't realize until Tim mentioned it that that's probably why I became a fan of D&D.

This is my first time watching a video with Tim and Neil and I'm not at all surprised about the sheer amount of books in the background 😁
To be honest, I found Gale annoying and boring in Act 1. But the further I progressed through the game’s plot, the more the character revealed itself. He went from annoying and boring to a friendly, romantic and powerful wizard. I saw how much love and effort was put into the voice acting. Thanks to Tim Downey for a job well done.
I've been resisting getting sucked into this channel, but I couldn't resist the Tim Downie. Now I'm hooked and entirely distracted from those other things I should actually be doing. Thanks guys. 😅

I just started playing BG3 a week ago now. I’ve never played turn based combat or DnD, I did love the Forgotten Realms books that’s my introduction to the universe. I’ve fallen in love with this game though. How insanely detailed, staggeringly vast. You can tell the immense love and passion and talent behind this game, this work of art. Im hoping I can run into Drizzt at some point 😱 (even if I need a mod for that to happen). I’m sad I missed these streams I hope some more dnd with the bg3 cast happens again 🤞🤞 love from America may Mielikki be with you all.
