Man, thank you SO much for this clear and concise video. We were really in a jam trying to figure this out since the cords weren’t marked with numbers and we thought we had really messed up the car badly. I was searching and searching online and couldn’t find any clear diagrams or instructions on how to know the reconnect order. We would almost get it right but not quite until i finally found your video. It seriously saved us while stuck on the street and saved the car too from serious damage. We are truly grateful. Thanks!
I had a shop tell me it would be $210 to replace the coil. I decided to look at what was involved, and I was PISSED!! They made it sound so tough, I stopped by Advance auto and bought a good coil for $37, and even though I am not mechanically inclined, I can handle this little job.Talk about a rip off! Great little video, now I know where #3 is.

Best explained video. I have a 2008 Grand Prix and i was checking out the reason of misfiring and took out all the spark plug wire and placed them totally wrong and now the car wont start up, what could be the worse case scenario? And does this cylinder order applies to 2008 3.8 V6?
Could the Ignition Control Modual cause a P0306 code? Cylinder 6 misfire, or would the whole unit fail at once? Ive changed plugs and cables and i have new ignition coils coming today. If those dont fix the issue than the next step is ICM or possibly camshaft or crankshaft positioning sensors. What is the likely hood it something in the motor like a fuel injector?
you can also try pulling the plug cable off the 4 post on the coil and setting it to the side of the post so that a spark can jump while you crank it, to see if the spark jumps from the coil to the wire. also pull the wire off of the spark plug and seeing if that is transferring a spark. I did this by sticking a screwdriver into the metal loop in the plug cable and set it near a metal part of the engine, seeing if it would spark against the engine block. you can also pull the spark plug and check the spark in the plug. be very careful with this..it can shock the crap out of you. other possible problems are camshaft positioning sensor and crank shaft positioning sensor. both are pretty cheap but the crank shaft sensor is a major pain to get to unless you have the correct tools. do you have any other issues? mime was puffing white smoke from the tail pipe and it smelt like gas.

Yes go by number on coils what if they have been off put back on in a different order
I changed my 2-5 coil pack and it’s still showing cylinder 5 misfire. Running rough and jumpy and check engine light blinks sometimes

Mine is the same 3800 s2 but it has the oil cap on the passenger side and it's a rear wheel drive , 97 camaro

Changed the spark plugs only to find out the ignition cables where all over the place.... spark plugs haven't been changed since the car was made 😕😞

Did you get it fixed with the coils

Damn ok thanks man... Where you gettin codes for a misfire im gettin a misfirecode on cylinder 4 so im wonderin if i should change coils as well
@@MichaelGarcia-qs1yj you can swap the misfiring coil with one of the good ones and see if the code changes from 4 to whatever the new position is
