Never having lived on farm, I’m amazed at all the equipment required. I love the way your family all works together, each with task...looks bit like a NASCAR pit crew.
You all need to watch the harmless farmer and his daughter! this is a man who was born without arms! he does everything with his feet. He is now fighting cancer. He has such good spirits. Taking radiation and chemo. But still working his farm.
Raynona Bohrer Andy either by himself or with his daughter’s help successfully tackle and complete projects that many people would not feel comfortable doing. I think he drives better with his feet then many people out in the road today.
@@raynonabohrer5624 Andy is amazing with what he accomplishes in a day. But he was born with both arms lost them in a accident when he was 2 or 3 years old. One of his older videos (8 months or more) explains that day.
@@midohfarmboy5101 i didn't know this. I'm only started watching the harmless farmer this past month. But I do know people who was born with deformed limbs at that time because the medicine the mother took when she was pregnant. I just thought it was the same. Thank you for the information.
Mark & Jess - I had to smile as Jess struggled trying to open that first bag of seed. You might know it was the 4th corner that finally provided the piece of string that could be pulled to open the bag. Very nice to see father and daughter working together. I had help from my daughters when firewood was delivered in the fall and had to be stacked when we lived in Missouri, and heated with wood. I wish we had the 3 bushel boxes on our planter. We only plant around 240 acres of cotton a year but it’d help with fill ups. We only do cotton and wheat and will start putting cotton in the ground on the 15th

Congrats on getting your first corn in the ground, after last year you deserve some good growing weather, I just hope the prices will be at a place to make the early planting worth while
I wish all consumers could see how hard farmers work!!! SO much appreciate all you do to feed people and animals! P.S. If you ever do a Q & A, could you explain a little more about "tiling?" If I understand correctly, it's an underground system to basically remove the excess moisture, but....when you have tiled a field, why is it an issue when you go to plant again? Does tiling dig up a lot of rocks? Sorry to sound so dumb...LOL....just very interested! :) Keep up the great work!
I'm excited I keep thinking about all the rain last year when you were trying to harvest something. It seemed like it was one bad thing after another. Weather will always be unpredictable but this seems like a great opportunity.
I had some maple smoked wild turkey Wednesday. Great stuff. The guys haven't started planting corn here in Northern Grey County yet but very soon. Cheers
Really enjoy your videos and learning all that goes on at the farm. If I could do my life all over again, I think I would do it on a farm. God Bless your family.
Farming is way more complex that I remember it being as a kid in the 1950s. You are one step removed from robot farming, as it looks now. No more bouncing around in the tractor in a few short years, just monitoring the farm robots from the comfort of your office, or maybe even someone else doing the monitoring from thousands of miles away. Now that's scary to think about.
C’mon dad don’t you know teenagers like to work harder not smarter 🤦♂️😂 great to see her out there my 16 year old daughter definitely likes to work harder rather than smarter and it’s usually just because she doesn’t want to admit what you tell her would make it easier for her 🤦♂️😁
Pretty good I like that once explained they why’s your daughter followed your directions. The dog seems so calm around the both of you. I thought if wild animals like turkey damage your property your allowed to hunt them without permit. Guessing deer require Nuisance permits.
Turkey is my favourite meat of the domestic fowl we have here in the UK but I have never tasted the wild veriety, whats is it, I would imagine a stronger taste maybe, more gamie? I also curious why you soak it in salt water, does that improve its flavour? fascinated by this! oh and of course , great video Mark (aren't they all) :)
Just hope your early planting error is visible from the road. Neighbors are always check each other out so it sucks if your mistake is front and center. LOL

How did you get the shot of you pulling on to the field and your suppose to be inside the tractor?? No worries, we take any necessary precaution and there's been a lot of science behind the products we use to make sure there safe for the operator and environment.
Is there an Aulari cart that comes in a setup that would move the fertilizer to openers mounted on the planter? It seems that the ones on your model are too far from the seed discs to maintain the desired distance on hillsides or contours.
There liquid fertilizer in the front tank that is applied in the furrow with the seed. We're able to plant all our fields last year, however each field usually gets a different crop from the previous year.

It seems to be more European style equipment around now. We farm 1700 acres and get similar yields to Northern Iowa and northern corn belt states. Farms are smaller here in Ontario verse western Canada.
Why did you use bags of seed for planting? Can you use your own supply from last year? is this better or easier to sell your supply in fall and buy in spring? or are these regulations in Canada?
Corn is a hybrid which means we need to buy pure seed every year and the stuff we harvest it genetically quite variable do to the cross pollination. Wheat seed can be saved and growing again. Soybeans can be saved but it depends on some of the sales contracts available and whether it's under contract law. It's kind of complicated and would be a good video topic.
