everything note, every phrase, every lick he plays is impeccable. He is up there for me right now in the top tier of guitar players on the planet and a huge inspiration for me getting back into guitar
I love how after all the years of playing and touring you can still geek out over your gear. The sound you've built and crafted is truly your own and so inspiring.
Josh is an incredible player - mean as you ever want but also fresh and always way deep in the pocket. Great rig rundown - thanks to Josh and Guitar Magazine for posting.
Got to see him in Los Angeles about 3 weeks ago. He's absolutely incredible. And he does it all with .13-.58 strings which makes it even more impressive.
@@Jay-lr3me SRV used 13's for most of his career. Only till he got clean did he switch to 11's. He said, once clean, his fingers felt the 13's and would hurt. When he was on drugs that wasn't a problem.
@@armandogarduno3954 Fair enough, but the fact Josh plays 13s in standard tuning is crazy, because SRV tuned to Eb meaning the 13s felt more like 11.5s/12s. Still impressive, I only use 10s myself, but Joshs hands must be crazy strong!
This man is a total monster player and has a killer tone! I love his approach to gain and effects. Even when he's using the fuzz, it still somehow seems pretty clean!
Josh Smith kicking some ass! He is one of he best players I’ve heard, can play the shot out of anything he gets his hands on, but he’s always tasteful. Fucking ruling.
Class act. I had the pleasure of seeing him with David Grissom in a small club in Austin not long ago. They tore the roof off the place and had a blast doing it.
One night, 3 or 4 years ago, Josh Smith & Kirk Fletcher at a little club in LA (The Maui Sugar Mill). Maybe 25 people in the club…both of those cats on fire. Sippin a Beer...What a great musical night!
Cool sounds and a very nice guy too. Was at his show in Copenhagen yesterday and he was killer along with a backing band of three very good norwegian guys on stage.
Hot and Cool pedalboard, fantastic player with no superstar attitude doing his own rig walkthrough. Exactly the kind of player that needs no big name brand on a guitar headstock to kill it onstage.
I would love to know more about the reverb sound. Almot sounds like the reverb return is being delayed....which is much different sounding than pre-delaying the send.
Man.... I just want to know who represent the 4 ‘dislikes’. Not metal enough for you? Of course, Josh could play through a stock Fender and sound great. But this rig is going to kill it with a band with his hands/approach. You should be required to explain your thumbs down.
There are some guys that just hate blues and dislike any video with blues in it. They are an interesting group of guitarists I will leave my comments at that
I am not one of the dislikes - I think Josh is great. But why do you people think you have any right to impose your wishes on others? That’s what led to world war 2. Ffs just let people like or dislike what they want. If I do hit dislike, I’m not having some dipshit tell me I’ve got to explain myself. No, I fucking do not. In fact, I’m going to hit dislike, for the first time, on your comment
Tchula isn't two circuits in one box.... left stomp switch is the fixed COT, right stomp switch and knob are a bias adjustment for the fixed COT... Unless the one in the video is different than the other Tchulas made and the right side is actually independent of the left side (i.e. the right side normally doesn't do anything without the left side engaged because it's just an adjustment for the left side). But I've never seen or heard of a Tchula like that. Maybe a Les Lius, but not a Tchula.
Tyler Barnett he just slipped when he used the word “circuit” no biggie. If I’m not mistaken the pedal only exists because of Josh’s input in the first place. In the Andertons interview he specifically says they are independent and do not stack. He knows his stuff.
They aren't independent. The right side doesn't work without the left side. That's called "dependent". Like the teal Amp11. The boost side could only be engaged when the drive side was on, otherwise it did nothing. He is correct that they don't stack, because the right side is a simple bias increase for the fixed left side. You can't stack a circuit if there isn't another circuit to stack with.
everything note, every phrase, every lick he plays is impeccable. He is up there for me right now in the top tier of guitar players on the planet and a huge inspiration for me getting back into guitar
One of the few, he knows his sound and he knows his rig and everything in between, killer man.

What a great personality and monster player. Love his music and I'm a 70 year old guitar player.
By the time you grow up you’ll be awesome player
Love the way he loves everything down to his cable. Very cool guy.
Cool gear breakdown with tasteful chordal and single note jamming.
Nice playing from this guy.
Clean tone in before the board is magical!
It's the heavy strings and titanium saddles. I just put 13-17-26w-36-46-52 strings on my 72 thinline telecaster . It made the guitar come alive.
Saw Josh I'm Fulham last week. One of the best blues guitarists I've ever seen.
Got to see him in Los Angeles about 3 weeks ago. He's absolutely incredible. And he does it all with .13-.58 strings which makes it even more impressive.
What is I’m Fulham
Im sure he meant to say "In Fulham"
Blasting with 13's! Such a freaking beast. So accurate and effortless
So true man. Every srv fan tried it at some point and slowly creep back to 10s. This dude literally stuck it out and does it for real. Amazing
@@joshmuz9018 and funny thing is people say SRV mainly used 11s. Dunno how true that is

@@Jay-lr3me I agree with you. Josh is killing it. He's mad talented and I love his guitar tips, helps me out soo much. Have a good day.
"Delays that get out of your way"
Amen, brother. It's why I love the TC Vintage/T-Rex Replica (same pedal)
This man is a total monster player and has a killer tone! I love his approach to gain and effects. Even when he's using the fuzz, it still somehow seems pretty clean!
Total pro. So musical in everything he does.
One of the best around!!

What a modest guy and a great guitar player. Please come to the Netherlands and I'll be there. Awesomeness at it's best.

Great demo 👌! Thanks for sharing this with us all 🌠🌌🌅👌
his Captain Meets interview is my favorite in the series! he tells the fake strat story there! sweet guitar!
Josh is the man, friend & awesome player, great tour congrats !!!
Great guy and a great musician. One of the best!
Great demo Josh.
Josh I love your playing man
What a talented musician.
I hope Josh comes back to the UK every year
Great sound all the way around
I just now discovered Josh Smith. Excuse me I am a little late to the party! Awesome, and such a good communicator of his gear.
What a beast! JS' tone is like Godzilla in a papier mache town
Just brutal. Amazing player
Dude is just a monster
Great rig rundown!
You’re cool! Thank you for inspiration
Things I didn't know I wish I did ... Josh Smith was touring in the UK and I find out five minutes before his last date ended. FML
Great playing
Can this dude come and tour Australia this year please !!!!
Amazing tones and playing! Rock On Josh :)
What a cool dude!

GREAT GUITARIST - GREAT GEAR !! ... THANKS !!
What a talent!
nice one Josh- either see you in Germany or back in L.A. - sounding great as ever-
Did you forget to mention your JS-1250 Eminence sig speaker man? Or aren't you using it any longer?
Dang this guy is great ! Yo Josh Smith !!!
Great tone, feel and musicianship. Does anyone know what pic thickness Josh uses? Thanks
I love this rig videos, but i always miss some info about strings and picks
Aitor Llamazares he is playing 13's. DiMarzio strings. Just your standard 1mm picks. Dunlop I think
Nice!
That strat sound!
Go Josh!
Damn this guy is awesome

Monster!!!!!
Now has a signature guitar from Ibanez
He is one of the best blues players around today
Did I miss where he talked and demo'd the Plexi drive pedal?
yjmsrv around 7:00
dig it
mind blown!! to say the least...
Which kind of pick does he used? Dunlop Jazz 3?
Was going to ask the same, there is nothing on the web about that
Electricity has made it to Swindon? Or did he take his own generator?
Strat pickups?? I love the sound of that 'fender' ;)
nachobolso69 It aint a fender
Juicy!
Killer!!!!
Dude, you make anything sound good. You could play a rubber band tied to a broom handle and it would sound killer.
No bad sounds there....wow
What is with three 9v ever ready batteries on top of the box for? Is that a power supply?
Dale Weber yep, but just for drives and fuzz
check out his Captain Meets interview,he explains the batteries and why they are better.
thumbs up for the nuge
The Victory is a back up?
No he tours with Ariel.

Whats up with that Flashing when the Camera changes?!? Absolutely horrible editing... Josh is great

You are my favourite guitar player but...why the counterfeit strat ?....great guitar, but fake.....
If you watch all the current Josh Smith Pedal board videos , about 3 or 4 of them you'll hear him tell you why.
Seen all Josh's vids.....
All I am saying is ,if you build a good guitar why put another builders name on it.......?
It’s not fake, a very high end custom build.
