She made a massive splash on the airwaves with ‘Mercy’ and vanished. instagram: imthehonestboy twitter: imthehonestboy business inquires: muyhonest@gmail.com
Poor poor woman. I had no idea that happened. It’s completely understandable why she disappeared. That’s so horrifying and I’m so sad her life has been made so hard by awful people who had access to her. I hope she is finding peace and justice.
I was her main guitar player while she was on the local band scene, before she made it big. We lived just across the road from each other and wrote/played every day for years. I haven’t heard from her in many years, I really hope she’s doing ok.
She actually lives across the road from me now in Surrey, keeps herself to herself locally, and appears to have actually done pretty well out of her career.
Before she was famous she let me borrow her time machine and together we went back to jam with Elvis & Keith Moon with Margret Thatcher on vocals. It was quite an eclectic ansambl... AHhhh what memories.......
wtf!!! Gosh I hope she is surrounded by loving and safe people now. Thank you for sharing her story, I still hear her music on the radio and on playlists etc. I hope she is healing and knows she has support
I loved Duffy i got that album in my senior year of HS and yes i was already a massive Amy fan who became one of those huge artists to bring that back. As a 60s fan of music fashion etc which in the late 2000s early 2010s had a major re-insurgence, i was sold. Very talented. I always wondered what happened to her. Im glad she’s ok and just doing her whatever it is that makes her safe and happy ❤ Ps: appreciate you always talking about vast type of artists that some may not even know about and research about it it to share on here 🙏🏾
I was absolutely devastated when i learned what had happened to poor duffy. No one should ever have to endure such heinous and horrific crimes. My sincerest condolences go out to duffy. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to endure and then try to recover from that. I saw that she recently posted on her Instagram again and glad she is finding her strength and courage to come back around. She has such a unique style of music and a beautiful/soulful voice. Hopefully, she will be able to release music again. She has so many fans in awe of her and would love to hear it and see her preform again
Met Duffy whilst having my own band at Alexandra’s in Chester . She would ask me to play guitar for her whilst she sung “summertime” which I did but told her I was a songwriter rather than a guitarist but now would love to write for her and have a massive backlog of songs svailable x hope she’s well x
Thank you so much for this video, I've been listening to her for the last 3 years, her songs Rockferry and Mercy were literally the first and seconc most listened songs on my spotify last year. I remember I used to hate Mercy when I was 8 lol, it was so overplayed.
Thank you for this! Til today I’ll randomly break out in song after hearing the words, “well well well”, “third degree” and “I’m not guilty”. That’s the only song I knew from her and I’m sad that this song wasn’t well received. I hope she finds happiness.
Lily Allen has been quite active despite not having the same level of commercial success in the mid 2000s. Sheezus, released in 2014, is actually my favorite album of her.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, I was beyond sorry to hear what happened to Duffy blessings and divine justice to her and loved ones, hope she's happy doing what she wants to do. Crying through drying tears, 😢😢 love peace and justice for all.
She was going to be next up there to Adele her albums was amazing I have them on vinyl and cds and I’ve spoken to her on instagram dms recently she’s a rare person and I’ll always hold her up there next to the greats thank you honest for covering this legend 😢
Duffy will always be a classic to me. I hope she has peace now and should she ever return to performing for us-that she is given the safety and security she needs to thrive as a performing artist. Ultimately, I’ll take what we have and give her my gratitude 🙏
That first album, Rockferry, is brilliant. I own the CD and it’s often in regular rotation in my car. That voice is like syrup & honey (pun intended- gawd, I love that fucking song)!
Her song Well Well Well was 24/7 on the radio at that time even tough I'm from Argentina, I love that song, I really need that album on Spotify Also, I remember when I was 11/12 years old and Warwick Avenue srarted to play on MTV, Much Music & VH1! I used to think it was a boring music video 😅 But that song is a master piece!! I was never a fan of Mercy but lately I've been watching to live performances of that song and I love them🤍 Her voice is unique, she's talented and I wish her peace on her life🤍
I used to love Warwick Avenue so much and that made me research about her… when I learned what happened to her I was devastated. As someone who was SA growing up, I feel soo much for her, I hope she finds true happiness 🩷
I want introduced to her through Jojo’s bizarre adventure stone ocean. Distant Dreamer is used as the outro and it is such an emotional song that relates to the themes of the show.
Ohoh- I played her song "I Melt" at my wedding, it still never fails to make me cry- it was heartbreaking what happened to her, I thought she was just as awesome as Amy Winehouse and her story was just as hoffific...I wish her nothing but good things, thankyou Duffy💖💖
Mercy just randomly popped in my head this morning and I was like “damn, this is random” and then this video showed up in my feed Crazy how it happens like that In all seriousness, it’s so vile what happened to her. I hope she can find peace and that she’s in a good place
When Duffy and Amy popped up with the 60's soul style music in the mid 2000's, they were not the first to do this. The Scottish band Texas was already doing it with the album "White on Blonde" in 1997 and "The Hush" in 1999. "Redbook" kind of continued it but that had a little more disco influence. And they have been doing their own version of that style since and still to this day.
Remember her from Alexanders in chester when she was just 18 years old she had a great voice sang songbird accapella note perfect hope she is well she was a really nice kid
Omg it’s so weird that this was recommended to me cuz I was JUST thinking about her the other day and wondering where she went 👀👀 but didn’t search it on Google or anything sooo 🧐🧐🧐
I'm in shock! I audibly gasped. Scrolling to comments and it's all 'oh I loved that song!/I saw her live!/she should make a comeback. Me: hello?! Are we missing the whole reason why she stopped? Enough Internet for today.
Is any woman ever 'alright' after being raped? The tragic life for so many women - it is truly dismal for many women on this planet. Her music was a joy to hear - such a loss for all of us.
I’ve been a fan of hers since I was like 20. I used to think about her every so often and look her up to see if she would pop back up with new music. I had no idea what had happened to her. :( Love her voice and her sound.
That's sad i had no idea that happened to her, she had a great voice and was gorgeous it's a shame she was treated that way i don't blame her for getting out of the industry i respect her more for it
been wondering as to what happened to duffy, i really hope that she’s doing okay now… ‘mercy’ is still a classic though.
Mercy was a fu*king shocker.
I loved Duffy. I didn't realize she had problems. Hope she is doing well and makes a comeback. I still have her music. ❤

She actually lives across from me. She is currently campaigning for Donald Trump even thou we live in Wales 🤷♂️
I played triangle for her on her 2027 tour of Uganda.
@@Street-shitter I play triangle in a reggae band. I just stand at the back and ting.
Before she was famous she let me borrow her time machine and together we went back to jam with Elvis & Keith Moon with Margret Thatcher on vocals. It was quite an eclectic ansambl... AHhhh what memories.......
Warwick Avenue is a masterpiece
Truth
I was just about to say that
It is it is it is!!!
Brings me to my knees , till , this , day!😭
When I get to Warwick Avenue...
I hope she's okay now 🙏 beautiful voice and she seems like a lovely soul.
I read about her after hearing Syrup and Honey and I was confused and saddened I hope she’s ok now. ❤
wtf!!! Gosh I hope she is surrounded by loving and safe people now. Thank you for sharing her story, I still hear her music on the radio and on playlists etc. I hope she is healing and knows she has support
This is absolutely heartbreaking 💔 Stepping Stone is one of the most beautiful songs ever ❤️🩹 Love & light to Duffy ❤️
Duffy couldve been on Amy's and Adele's level 🥺
Commercially yes, but she was already on their level as regards talent.
She was dear. It’s her discography’s fault she didn’t sustain her career.
I loved Duffy i got that album in my senior year of HS and yes i was already a massive Amy fan who became one of those huge artists to bring that back. i still bump Stepping Stone to this day. so sad we never got more
Warwick Avenue still brings me to tears ❤
duffy was a once in a life time monumental artist
I saw Duffy live in Vancouver. She was incredible. ❤🎉
Never knew I needed a video about Duffy.
I was absolutely devastated when i learned what had happened to poor duffy. No one should ever have to endure such heinous and horrific crimes. My sincerest condolences go out to duffy. I adore Duffy. Sanity however, is far more imperative than Fame.

I wish her all the love and peace in the whole world, she deserves happiness.
She has a Grammy?! I didnt know that!
Same
Best Pop Vocal Album
What she went through is horrific
So sorry about what happened to Duffy she had a brilliant voice, loved all her records.
wtf i was just thinking about this
Same! I was like “someone needs to cover her story, it’s heartbreaking.”
We appreciate how well you articulate your insights. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for this!
Til today I’ll randomly break out in song after hearing the words, “well well well”, “third degree” and “I’m not guilty”. That’s the only song I knew from her and I’m sad that this song wasn’t well received.
I hope she finds happiness.
Well well well is the name of the song 😜 or did you mean that?
Oh my poor thing so sad stay strong
Stepping Stone and Delayed Devotion are masterful. I still play the Rockferry album to this day, 2024!
I was just reading about what happened to her a few days ago. What happened to her was crazy. As long as she's ok now
Heartbreaking.💔 Her debut album was so good.
I miss her. It's sad her music video "My Boy" was never released. 😢
First Amy, now Duffy? I see you honest. 😂
What’s next? Lilly Allen? Mid 2000s were great for music.
Lilly just announced a new album is on the way!!!
Lily Allen just announced she’s working on new album soon don’t worry
Lenka lol
Lily Allen has been quite active despite not having the same level of commercial success in the mid 2000s. Sheezus, released in 2014, is actually my favorite album of her.

Duffy will always have a special place in my heart ❤
She was going to be next up there to Adele her albums was amazing I have them on vinyl and cds and I’ve spoken to her on instagram dms recently she’s a rare person and I’ll always hold her up there next to the greats thank you honest for covering this legend 😢
Better than Adele any day
Duffy will always be a classic to me. I hope she has peace now and should she ever return to performing for us-that she is given the safety and security she needs to thrive as a performing artist. Ultimately, I’ll take what we have and give her my gratitude 🙏
❤Thank you for this video I was wondering what happened to her though I am elated to know that she is free and is living her best life. 🙂 ❤
That first album, Rockferry, is brilliant. I own the CD and it’s often in regular rotation in my car. That voice is like syrup & honey (pun intended- gawd, I love that fucking song)!
Mercy,Well well well,Rain on your parade and Warwick Avenue had me in a chokehold 😂
It's so tragic thinking how record labels exploited our favorite artists. 10 millions albums sold but artist barely get any
I saw Duffy live in Belfast and she was just brilliant. I hope you're keeping well Duffy ❤
She looks like Jessie J with the black hair!
It's shocking what happened to her. I wish her healings and prosperity. She's amazing talent
I'm truly sorry to hear what happened to Duffy she is such a brilliant singer. I wish you Duffy nothing but positivity peace and love ♥️
Her song Well Well Well was 24/7 on the radio at that time even tough I'm from Argentina, I love that song, I really need that album on Spotify

Her voice is unique, she's talented and I wish her peace on her life🤍
I really hope she releases another album someday (I recently bought Endlessly, I didn't have it lol), and I hope she's doing well.
This video ended as abruptly as her career
I used to love Warwick Avenue so much and that made me research about her… when I learned what happened to her I was devastated. As someone who was SA growing up, I feel soo much for her, I hope she finds true happiness 🩷
Her music is still banging! I missed her and always wondered where she was and what happened 😢❤
I want introduced to her through Jojo’s bizarre adventure stone ocean. Distant Dreamer is used as the outro and it is such an emotional song that relates to the themes of the show.
Bless her Beautful lady I wish her the best ..
Hope you are well and happy. Our experiences negatives and positive make us strong . Good luck
Dido, Amy Whinehouse, Duffy, which of this british singers are next? Joss Stone, Lily Allen, Pixie Lott, Jem(also welsh).
Did I create a false memory or did Tom Cruise at some point pursue Joss Stone 😂 the naughties were wild, LOL.
two men were found guilty in 2013 of plotting to decapitate Joss Sone with a samurai sword at her home in Devon.
Wishing Duffy all the very best for her family and future ..Greetings from a fellow Welsh person
We tried pitching a track to her about a decade ago. And at that point she disappeared and none of us knew any of this at the time....
🤔Britneys fans saved her from her father Maybe Duffy needs our help too!
I still listen to Rockferry…I wish her nothing but peace. Her voice is definitely missed.
Mercy just randomly popped in my head this morning and I was like “damn, this is random” and then this video showed up in my feed
Crazy how it happens like that
In all seriousness, it’s so vile what happened to her. I hope she can find peace and that she’s in a good place
“Mercy” is a masterpiece.
My jaw DROPPED wth… I never heard what happened to her 😥
Saw her in concert, she was amazing
I was and am still obsessed with Stepping Stone. I hope she’s doing well ❤❤❤
Ok you are just hitting all my spots now 😮😊 Amy and Duffy were my GIRLS!!!!!!
I kept remembering a blonde lady who has almost the same genre as Amy. But I don’t remember her name anymore. This is her.
You've been making videos about all the artists on my playlist lately, the streaming service must've sent you my data.
I love that song Warwick Avenue that she came out with after Mercy. Have that on my playlist constantly
Clearly Dido is the only British singer that is doing ok 😰💪🏼. First Amy, then Duffy
Adele too doing fine
Remember her from Alexanders in chester when she was just 18 years old she had a great voice sang songbird accapella note perfect hope she is well she was a really nice kid
...kidnapped , raped... life threaten....and were those sick Baste.....ever prosecuted..? ..barley heard any news about her ordeal..
.
I hope she makes a comeback soon. I still listen to Rockferry.
Omg it’s so weird that this was recommended to me cuz I was JUST thinking about her the other day and wondering where she went 👀👀 but didn’t search it on Google or anything sooo 🧐🧐🧐
I love Warwick Avenue ❤
I love that song!
zomg... I've just watched that coke ad. I couldn't believe this is the real sound.
I was wondering this the other day, how timely!
God , I fuckin loved that era so much!!! Shout out to millineals man
I'm sorry I was NOT expecting that backstory, is she alright??
I'm in shock! I audibly gasped. Scrolling to comments and it's all 'oh I loved that song!/I saw her live!/she should make a comeback.
Me: hello?! Are we missing the whole reason why she stopped? Enough Internet for today.
Is any woman ever 'alright' after being raped? The tragic life for so many women - it is truly dismal for many women on this planet. Her music was a joy to hear - such a loss for all of us.
I seriously thought this song was vintage... I had no idea it was from 2008. I hope she's doing well now.
I just realised a while ago dancing queen by Girl’s Generation is a remake of mercy
Carmel had that 'sound' way before Duffy ever did
I’ve been a fan of hers since I was like 20. I used to think about her every so often and look her up to see if she would pop back up with new music. I had no idea what had happened to her. :(
Love her voice and her sound.
One of her most beautiful songs, "I'm a Dreamer"
Could you do one on Pixie Lott ❤️
Omg, yes!
That's sad i had no idea that happened to her, she had a great voice and was gorgeous it's a shame she was treated that way i don't blame her for getting out of the industry i respect her more for it
I like her song Syrup & Honey, from an episode on the tv show Rescue Me.
Syrup & Honey has always been a gem 💎 ❤
This is heartbreaking.
I love that song Mercy, Duffy is the goat.
I heard a few years back that she was having a come back but then it seemed like it never happened.
anyone else just go right to the end??
Yes I remember her great album
I heard her song “Mercy” about 4 years ago and wondered what happened to her 🙂
I used to play Warwick Avenue every morning
i remember well well well used to play in polish stations all the timeee
I thought we were talking about Duffy, Grimes' muse and the leader of the cult that she's in
😂😂😂
What the eff are you talking about?
Stunning girl lovely voice she never sadly wrote her songs, which means less royalties 😢
Begging you for Bird Seed🤣🤣
this cut off kind of suddenly at the end there.....
"You're A Liar" from the "An Education" soundtrack, is still my favorite.
