I’ll be using hononochi cousin from 2023 and found your video! Would love to see more of how you use it:) (especially if you can share how you used it during grad school that’d be helpful!)
Hi Shiori! How exciting! I actually used a Filofax for grad school, that’s what worked best for me at the time. I might do a video about this someday ☺️ Are you in grad school too?
@@the_organized_mess yes! I’m currently in grad school. Finished taking credits so only thesis writing is left though. And I’ll be start working from summer so I really want to make the use of hobonichi!
Thanks for sharing your system! While I have heard of many of the concepts you use, the way you put it together and made it real and showed how you used it in the hobonichi is great! I really liked how you broke things down per quarter and also how you got real with your calendar to understand how many actual work days you would have to devote to your goals. Psychology wise - I'm curious...do you ever run into the situation where you make less progress than you intended which could make your remaining goals unachievable for the quarter?....and how do you handle that? re-write? Use friction pens and re-do? LOL!
Hi again, Lisa! I actually initially filmed a few sentences on that very topic but then ended up editing them out, because I realized I don’t have it figured out for myself yet. It just happened to me this moth - I took up a large project because an opportunity presented that I could not pass up, and now my Q4 plan in its initial form is simply unattainable. I think, generally, psychology wise, the way I think about it - the whole point of it (at least in the kind of work I do, which is mostly corporate L&D + academic teaching) is to generate new (better, bigger) opportunities, and while I’m working on generating them, I should stick to the best possible plan giving the current setup. And when the setup changes, I should just update the plan. It sounds neat on paper, but in practice, I find that I sometimes drop things midway, because there’s a better shinier option now 😕 I need to figure out how to add / replace to my plate without destroying the effort I’ve been putting towards sth by abandoning that sth. (As for the technical part of documenting them in writing, I think I mostly just rewrite, because writing is akin to thinking for me, so the act of rewriting in and of itself is helpful!). Sorry for a long reply, your question really resonated with me! How do you think about this whole issue?
Thank you, Mika 🥰 So the main black and blue one is this: www.1101.com/store/techo/en/lineup/ and the cover-on-cover (the clear cover on top is this): www.1101.com/store/techo/en/lineup/ ☺️
Happy to help ☺️☺️ About the notebook - if you’re asking about the plain notebook I bought to carry at the back, it’s this one: www.1101.com/store/techo/en/2023/sp/detail_toolstoys/tt_memo_c/ ☺️
Hi Carisa! I mostly use the free pen that Hobonichi sends you every year with their planner (you can see it on 1:47 for instance). If you're not ordering a Hobonichi this year, you can still get the pen online, it's this one: amzn.to/3gU3YM5 (affiliate link) For my headings I use a Tomboy Dual Brush Pen in the color 969: amzn.to/3VLQ8u1 (affiliate link). The pages on 0:30 for instance were made with these two pens! On 9:47 I use a Muji Gel Pen in 0.5mm: www.muji.us/collections/pens/products/gel-ink-cap-type-ballpoint-pen-0-5mm-8a63?variant=40027972305086. The titles on 7:27 were made in another pen that Muji was offering for free with a purchase a few years ago, the Pentel Sign Pen: amzn.to/3H4kmEo (affiliate link). Hope this helps :)
Thank you, this is such a nice compliment 🥰 I love Marianne’s content and she’s the aspirational benchmark I keep in mind while making these videos! Hope one day to get to her aesthetic level, she must be putting so much effort into her filming 🙏
I love the concept of “work x hours towards the goal” being open ended instead of “do the thing” which is concrete. Brilliant mind bend 🙌🏻
True! Can’t take credit for it as I’m sure I saw / read this somewhere, but how we frame stuff helps so much indeed! Thank you for stopping by 😃

GREAT video... LOVE the way you think! Would you mind sharing the two planner covers you are using?

I have a very random question... what pen are you using?
